Flock Safety is a founder-led, venture-backed company. Garrett Langley is its founder and CEO, and the company has publicly named a group of venture investors in its 2025 funding round. What public disclosures do not show is a current shareholder list, the founders’ present equity percentages, or which holder has voting control. No one should be described as controlling Flock Safety on the strength of the available record.

Who runs Flock Safety

Y Combinator’s company profile for Flock Safety identifies Garrett Langley as founder and CEO and Matt Feury as a co-founder and CTO. The profile describes the company as headquartered in Atlanta and operating nationwide. These roles tell you who leads the company. They do not tell you how much of it each person owns.

The company describes its platform as including license plate readers, gunshot detection, AI-powered video cameras, and drone-first-responder technology. Those products explain why the company attracts attention, but they say nothing about its ownership structure.

On March 13, 2025, Flock Safety announced a $275 million fundraise at a $7.5 billion valuation. The company said Andreessen Horowitz led the financing. It also named the following participants:

What public information does not establish

The public record cited here does not establish the following:

Rank #3
Slip-On Protective Cover Compatible with Flock Security Cameras
  • Tailored Design: The specialized rear-opening design ensures clearance for the camera's mounting bracket, tilt adjustment joint, and external cables, preventing pinching or obstruction
  • Supports Extension Pole Mounting: An integrated bottom socket accommodates standard 1-inch (25.4 mm) mounting poles, broom handles, or extension poles, allowing the unit to be easily slipped over the camera housing from the ground—eliminating the need for ladders or unstable climbing equipment
  • Tool-Free, Non-Permanent Installation: A slip-on design secured by friction and gravity allows for installation or removal in seconds, requiring no adhesives, screws, drilling, or physical modifications to the equipment
  • Durable: Constructed from high-quality materials to ensure longevity and withstand extended use
  • Low-Profile Appearance: Blends seamlessly with surveillance equipment
  • A complete or current capitalization table (the list of who holds shares and how many)
  • The founders’ present equity percentages, including Langley’s
  • Which of the named investors still hold shares
  • Which shareholder, if any, has voting control
  • Any financing after March 2025. The March 2025 round is the most recent one announced in the sources cited here, which does not rule out later private transactions

Fundraising participation and a headline valuation cannot answer these questions, so a claim about a controlling owner would go beyond the evidence.

How to check for a more current answer

  • Check the company’s own press releases for any financing announced after March 2025.
  • Look for a current public statement from the company about its investors.
  • Before making a percentage or control claim, find a primary corporate or regulatory record that directly discloses holdings. A fundraising announcement or a company profile does not supply that.

Until such a record appears, the accurate answer is that Flock Safety is led by its founders and backed by named venture investors, with its current ownership split not publicly disclosed in the sources cited here.
