What does the public notice reportedly claim?
Bollywood Hungama reported on October 6, 2026, that a notice in the October 3, 2026 issue of Atul Mohan’s Complete Cinema named Jain as having “exclusive rights and authorization” to negotiate the sale, license or assignment of the film’s digital, television and allied or ancillary rights. The report identifies Sugar & Spice Production, represented by Chirag Dhariwal and Param Deep Sandhu, as the production entity associated with the film.

According to the report, the notice cites a finance agreement dated June 3, 2019, and a finance term sheet dated November 3, 2020. It says Jain claims “sole and exclusive negative rights” and asserts those rights were “irrevocably sold, assigned and transferred” to him. The cited agreements are not provided in the report for independent examination, so their terms and legal effect cannot be verified from that account.
Which rights does Jain say are covered?
The reported claim extends beyond digital and television licensing. It lists rights relating to copyright and intellectual property, remakes, sequels and prequels, theatrical exhibition, digital platforms, television and satellite, streaming, video-on-demand, dubbing, merchandising and gaming, worldwide. The notice reportedly says the relevant rights would not vest with Sugar & Spice Production.

These are categories described in the notice as reported by Bollywood Hungama; they do not establish that Jain owns each right or that any particular sale or license has taken place.
What did the notice ask other parties to do?
The notice reportedly warned parties not to transfer the film’s intellectual-property rights outside the authority it claims for Jain. It invited individuals, copyright societies and corporate bodies with objections to send them to Jain in writing, supported by documentary evidence, within 10 days of the public notice. The report does not say whether anyone submitted an objection.

The October 6 report says it remains to be seen whether the production house or another stakeholder will issue a counterclaim or clarification. It reports no court ruling, authority decision or confirmed resolution. The notice’s assertions should therefore be distinguished from an adjudicated finding about ownership or control.
