Who Are Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies? The FT1000 2026 Explained

The latest broad European ranking identified here is the FT1000 – Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2026, compiled by Statista with the Financial Times. It ranks 1,000 Europe-headquartered, independent companies by revenue compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2021 to 2024—not by employee growth, profit or valuation. The published list’s highest CAGR was 621.7%, and its minimum was 17.0%.

What does “fastest-growing” mean in the FT1000 2026?

The FT1000 is a specific ranking, not a universal or exhaustive census of Europe’s companies. Its 2026 edition orders eligible firms by revenue CAGR over the three-year period from 2021 through 2024. A company can grow quickly by adding staff, increasing its valuation or improving profits, but none of those measures determines this ranking.

Statista says that “Company growth rates were calculated based on revenue figures submitted by the evaluated companies.” Revenue figures were converted to euros using the annual average exchange rate for each financial year. The ranking process combines online applications with analyst outreach to potential candidates; Statista’s methodology describes management verification of revenue figures and analyst quality checks. FT1000 2026 eligibility and headline figures

To qualify for the 2026 list, a company had to be headquartered in Europe, independent under the project’s criteria, and show primarily organic revenue growth. Its revenue had to reach at least €100,000 in 2021 and €1.5 million in 2024. Statista’s ranking page gives these edition-specific headline figures:

FT1000 2026 measure Published figure
Companies awarded 1,000 — Statista Rankings, 2026
Highest revenue CAGR 621.7% — Statista Rankings, 2026
Minimum revenue CAGR for inclusion 17.0% — Statista Rankings, 2026

These figures describe the 2026 edition and its 2021–2024 measurement window. They are not thresholds for a later edition, nor do they predict future company performance.

How to read the ranking responsibly

  • Check the metric and years. The FT1000 2026 measures revenue CAGR from 2021 to 2024, not headcount, valuation or profit growth.
  • Keep the eligibility rules in view. The list is limited to qualifying European-headquartered independent businesses that met the revenue thresholds and primarily organic-growth requirement.
  • Remember where the figures come from. Growth rates use revenue submitted by evaluated companies, with management verification and analyst quality checks described in Statista’s methodology.
  • Do not treat rank as a forecast. The result is a retrospective comparison for a defined period, not a guarantee that a company will keep growing.

How the decade-long list differs

Statista’s Europe’s Long-Term Growth Champions 2026 answers a different question: which 300 firms achieved revenue growth across 2014–2024. That project required at least €100,000 revenue in 2014 and €10 million in 2024, as well as European headquarters, independence and primarily organic growth. Statista says it reviewed mergers-and-acquisitions history and company structure when assessing organic growth and independence.

Because the decade-long ranking covers a different period, a smaller group and different revenue thresholds, it should not be combined with the FT1000 2026 as though the lists measured the same thing. Use the long-term list for sustained decade-wide revenue growth; use the FT1000 for the 2021–2024 comparison.

What is planned for the next FT1000?

Statista’s FT1000 registration page announces a next edition measuring revenue growth from 2022 to 2025, scheduled for publication in March 2027. The announced criteria specify at least €100,000 revenue in 2022 and €1.5 million in 2025, alongside independence and primarily organic growth. These are planned next-edition details and may change before publication.
