No 24/7 YouTube streaming service in the available documentation is confirmed to preserve selectable subtitles from prerecorded videos. Gyre is the clearest documented choice for continuously looping prerecorded videos on YouTube, but its reviewed documentation does not say whether it accepts subtitle files or passes embedded subtitle tracks through. Treat that as an unanswered compatibility question, not proof that subtitles work—or that they cannot work.
What “supports subtitles” can mean
There are two different outcomes to check:
- Selectable captions: viewers can turn captions on or off using the YouTube player’s CC controls. These depend on a caption track reaching YouTube.
- Burned-in subtitles: subtitle text is part of the video image, so viewers cannot switch it off. This depends on the video that the streaming service plays, not on a selectable YouTube caption track.
A service that can loop a video does not necessarily carry its embedded subtitle tracks, accept separate timed caption files, or provide burned-in text. Ask about the specific workflow you need.

How YouTube captions differ on uploaded videos and live streams
Captions on uploaded videos
YouTube Studio lets creators add subtitles or captions to uploaded videos by uploading a timed file, auto-syncing a transcript, or entering captions manually. YouTube can also generate automatic captions for eligible uploaded long-form videos and Shorts in supported languages. Automatic captions may take time to appear and can misrecognize speech, so review them before relying on them.
These features apply to a video uploaded to YouTube. They do not establish that a third-party service looping that video as a live broadcast will carry its caption track into the live player.

Automatic captions during a live stream
YouTube’s Help Center documents live automatic captions as English-only, available as a rollout to English channels, and limited to individual streams using normal latency. Captions shown during the live broadcast do not remain on the video after the stream ends; YouTube generates a separate caption track for the resulting VOD through its video-on-demand process. This is different from a subtitle track supplied by a streaming service.

How to verify a service before paying
- Ask what source it supports. Get a clear answer on embedded subtitle tracks, external timed files such as SRT or VTT, and burned-in subtitles. Do not assume that support for one means support for another.
- Ask where captions appear. Confirm whether the result is viewer-selectable CC in YouTube, text burned into the picture, or only captions available after the stream becomes a VOD.
- Check the exact prerecorded workflow. A provider may support embedded captions for a normal encoder-based stream while not supporting them when you use its upload-and-play feature.
- Test before committing. If possible, run a short private or unlisted test using a video with a known embedded caption track and, separately, a sidecar caption file. Check the live player’s CC menu and inspect the resulting archive after the stream ends.
- Get the answer in writing. Ask whether captions persist across a continuous loop or restart and whether they remain available on the archived video. If the provider cannot confirm the behavior, treat it as unverified.
