Because awakening unlocks an ultimate, the practical question is not simply “Which weapon is strongest?” It is “Which ultimate can I unlock soon, on a weapon I actually bring into content?” A weapon that remains unevolved while you spend days farming an inaccessible ingredient does not improve your current loadout. A weapon you can finish and use immediately may be the better progression choice even if another weapon has a more impressive reputation.
Cataclysm: the beginner-friendly first project
A 2026 Anime0 Wiki guide recommends Cataclysm first for a newer player who owns it. The reported recipe lists 3,000 Gems plus Fine Cloth, Mana Feathers, Wave Cores, Soul Fragments and Magic Pendants. That guide says these materials drop outside raids, which is the main reason Cataclysm is practical for an account that has not yet reached reliable Nightmare-raid farming.

When Cataclysm should not be first
- You do not use Cataclysm and another weapon in your loadout is nearly complete.

- You lack the Gems and have no near-term way to obtain them, while another active weapon can be finished with your current resources.
- Your account already has dependable access to the content needed for a different weapon and that weapon is central to your play style.
In each case, the account-specific rule takes priority: finish the useful weapon you can realistically complete.

Flame Director: a powerful but demanding follow-up
The same independent guide describes Flame Director as stronger overall, but it does not publish a testing method, sample size, build conditions or measured damage results. Read that phrase as the guide author’s assessment, not as an official ranking or laboratory conclusion.

Flame Director makes sense as a first awakening only when your account already satisfies the practical constraints: you use the weapon, can enter and clear the relevant raid consistently enough to obtain the required items, and can pay the listed Gem cost without delaying more important progression. If any of those conditions is missing, treating Flame Director as a later target avoids locking your plan behind a mode you cannot yet farm.
How to verify the live recipe before farming
Recipes and drop sources can change with patches. Games.gg’s guide, updated October 12, 2026, advises checking the in-game menu before farming. Use this procedure every time you begin a new awakening project:
- Open Areas from the game interface.
- Travel to the Evolution area.
- Interact with the Evolution NPC.
- Select the weapon you are considering.
- Scroll through the entire requirement list, including any entries below the initially visible portion.
- Write down the exact Gem amount, every material, the quantity of each item and any stated source or mode restriction.
- Compare that list with your inventory and your currently available activities before spending Gems or committing to a farm.
The menu is the final authority for your session. If it disagrees with an independent guide, follow the menu and regard the guide value as outdated.

A practical decision framework for established players
For an account with several weapons, rank candidates by completion speed and actual use instead of by reputation alone. The following checks keep the choice concrete.
1. Confirm that you use the weapon
Look at the weapon you bring into ordinary stages, events and raids. An awakening that unlocks an ultimate on your regular weapon has immediate relevance. Do not choose a weapon solely because a guide calls it stronger if you rarely equip it.
2. Measure recipe completion
For each candidate, compare the live requirement list with your inventory. A weapon missing one obtainable material is a nearer-term project than a weapon missing several raid-exclusive items. Record the remaining gap rather than relying on memory.

Separate ingredients into content you can farm now and content that requires a higher difficulty, a particular raid or a group you cannot reliably assemble. This is especially important for Flame Director because the reported Ghost and Staff of Homa sources are tied to Spirit’s Bathtub on Nightmare difficulty.

4. Protect your Gem budget
Reserve enough Gems for the recipe shown in the Evolution menu. Do not spend against an old guide figure and assume the balance will remain correct after a patch. If paying for one awakening would leave you unable to pursue a nearly finished, actively used weapon, delay the expensive project.
5. Commit to one evolution
Games.gg recommends completing one useful weapon at a time. Splitting materials across several recipes creates multiple unfinished projects and delays the point at which any weapon’s ultimate becomes available.

The beginner guide’s key claim is that Cataclysm’s listed materials can drop outside raids. That does not establish a single permanent farming route or guarantee identical rates in every patch. Use the live menu to identify the current source for each item, then work through the list systematically.
- Check the Evolution NPC and copy the exact quantity for Fine Cloth, Mana Feathers, Wave Cores, Soul Fragments and Magic Pendants.
- Identify the current activity associated with each material in the game’s own drop information or stage descriptions.
- Farm the activity that advances more than one missing requirement when the game offers such an overlap.
- Track your inventory after each session so you know which item is the bottleneck.
- Keep the required Gem amount available instead of converting all currency into unrelated upgrades before the recipe is complete.
- Return to the Evolution menu immediately before finalizing the awakening and check for any recipe change.
Because the guide does not establish quantities for every material, do not plan around an assumed number of runs or a guessed drop rate.

Assuming a guide’s tier language is tested fact
Symptom: You select Flame Director solely because it is called “stronger overall.” Fix: Treat that wording as an unevaluated guide opinion unless the source provides reproducible test conditions. Base your first choice on use, access and completion certainty.
Does awakening require Robux?
The available beginner guidance says its opening progression route does not require Robux. That statement does not establish that every future convenience, event or optional purchase is free, nor does it replace checking the current in-game requirements. For the awakening decision itself, the documented costs are the Gems and materials shown in the Evolution menu; no separate paid product is identified as necessary.

- New account with Cataclysm: verify the live recipe, then work toward Cataclysm first if the materials and Gem requirement are achievable through your available content.
