1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesStart with fit, not tracking sensitivity. vivo’s public material does not document an eye-tracking sensitivity control or a complete calibration menu, so the most useful first changes are the physical and workspace choices it does document: secure the band, choose windowed or immersive viewing for the task, switch the theme’s day/night appearance manually, learn gaze-and-pinch selection, and keep the number of open windows reasonable. The figures below are vivo specifications, not independent test results.
The five-minute setup order
Use this order when you first put on the vivo Vision Discovery Edition. It separates settings you can deliberately choose from controls that the public product pages do not identify.

- Settle the fit. Try the single-loop and double-loop band options and adjust until the headset sits evenly on your face. Do this before judging pointer accuracy or comfort.
- Choose a viewing mode for the job. Use the windowed workspace when you need several visible screens. Use an immersive theme when the task benefits from a full virtual scene.
- Choose day or night appearance manually. Each listed theme supports both appearances, but vivo’s footnote says the switch must be activated manually; it is not documented as an automatic clock-based change.
- Practice the input sequence. Look at an item to place the pointer, then use a two-finger pinch to confirm. Learn this before searching for an unconfirmed sensitivity slider.
- Add windows gradually. vivo says several virtual screens can be shown together, while warning that too many can increase system load and affect smoothness.
A one-click picture-realignment function is mentioned in the product overview for use while turning your head, but the public material does not identify its button or menu path. Do not rely on an invented shortcut; use the control shown on your device, or consult the current owner guide when available.

Fit is the first practical variable because a headset that shifts on your face also changes where your eyes are looking relative to the virtual interface. vivo describes a design intended to accommodate different face shapes and lists both single-loop and double-loop band configurations. The product page lists a weight of 398 g, including the headset and the listed fit components. That is a manufacturer figure; the page does not establish how comfortable either band is for every user or activity.

When to try each band
| Band option | First choice when | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Single-loop | You want a simpler setup and the headset remains stable without frequent adjustment. | The display stays level, the seal or contact points feel even, and looking around does not make the frame slide. |
| Double-loop | You need more support or the single loop moves as you turn your head. | Tension is distributed rather than concentrated at one point; tighten only enough to prevent movement. |
These are practical recommendations inferred from the available fit choices, not an official calibration procedure. After changing bands, look at several targets at different heights and sides of the view. If the pointer seems inconsistent, check that the headset is still centered and level before assuming a tracking fault.
- Adjust the physical fit while the headset is on your face, rather than judging it in your hand.
- Recheck fit after switching between the two band styles; the same strap tension will not necessarily feel equivalent.
- Do not treat a tighter strap as a tracking upgrade. Excess pressure can make a long session less tolerable without correcting a misaligned frame.
2. Choose windowed or immersive viewing by task
The documented environment choices are a windowed workspace with floating, resizable, anchored windows and three named virtual themes: desert, terraced field, and snowy mountain. There is no published comparative test showing that one theme is faster, more accurate, or objectively more comfortable. Choose the mode that matches the work in front of you.
| Mode or theme | Use it first when | Decision rule |
|---|---|---|
| Windowed workspace | You are reading, comparing information, monitoring several apps, or moving between screens. | Prioritize visibility of multiple anchored windows over a single uninterrupted scene. |
| Desert theme | You prefer its visual character for a task that does not require a different environment. | Choose by personal preference; no performance ranking is established. |
| Terraced-field theme | You want that environment while using a focused app or a small set of windows. | Choose by visual preference and the desired day/night appearance. |
| Snowy-mountain theme | You want a cooler, high-contrast-looking scene or simply prefer it aesthetically. | Do not assume the name implies a measured readability or comfort advantage. |
Windowed mode for multitasking
Start with only the windows you need to complete the immediate task. Resize and anchor them so that frequently referenced information stays in view. Add another window when it removes a real context switch, not merely because the system allows more. vivo explicitly warns that opening too many virtual screens may increase system load and affect smoothness.

Immersive mode for a single scene
Choose an immersive theme when a full virtual environment is more useful than a spread of separate panels. This is a use-case choice, not a claim that immersive mode performs better. If you later need sustained comparison or monitoring, move back to the windowed workspace rather than trying to force every app into one scene.
3. Set day or night appearance yourself
vivo’s product page states, “每大主题均支持白天 / 黑夜模式切换13,” meaning that each theme supports day/night mode switching. The accompanying footnote says the change must be enabled manually. Treat that as a deliberate appearance setting, not an automatic schedule tied to the time of day.
How to choose
- Use the day appearance when you want the brighter version of the selected environment.
- Use the night appearance when the darker presentation is more suitable for the room or your preference.
- When the scene looks wrong for the current session, look for the theme’s day/night switch rather than assuming the headset failed to detect the clock.
The public overview does not provide a verified menu path or state whether the headset remembers the last choice across every software version. Avoid promising automatic transitions or a specific location for the control until a current user guide identifies it.

4. Learn gaze and pinch before looking for tracking controls
The documented interaction model is straightforward: your gaze acts as the pointer, and a two-finger pinch confirms the selection. Spend a few minutes practicing the sequence on large, clearly separated targets. This helps distinguish an input habit problem from a hardware or software problem.

| Specification | Published figure | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Eye-tracking precision | 1.5° | vivo’s stated specification; no independent comparative measurement is established here. |
| Finger tracking | 26 degrees of freedom | vivo’s stated specification; it describes the tracking system, not a guaranteed success rate for every gesture. |
| Vertical interaction range | 175° | vivo’s stated specification; it is not a promise that every target will feel equally easy to select at every angle. |
| Full-color passthrough latency | 13 ms minimum claimed | A minimum claim from vivo, with test conditions not supplied in the public overview. |
These numbers should not be converted into a personal accuracy guarantee. The retrieved public material does not confirm an adjustable eye-tracking sensitivity setting, a calibration menu, or an exact path to either control. If a menu on your software build exposes such an option, use the label and instructions shown on that build rather than relying on a generic path.
A practical input drill
- Keep your head still and look directly at one target.
- Wait for the pointer to settle on that target.
- Pinch with two fingers once to confirm; avoid repeated pinches while the first action is processing.
- Repeat with a target higher and lower in the view to learn how much head movement is more reliable than eye movement alone.
If selection misses, first check fit and whether you are looking at the control itself. Do not infer that the published 1.5° figure means a user-adjustable 1.5° threshold.

5. Keep the virtual screen count practical
Several virtual screens can be displayed together, but vivo warns that opening too many may increase system load and affect smoothness. There is no single window count documented as a universal limit in the public overview, so the right number depends on what you are doing and how the interface responds.
Use this expansion rule
- Open the primary window for the task.
- Add one supporting window if it eliminates a repeated switch.
- Resize and anchor both so that their controls remain easy to target.
- Only then add another screen, and watch for delayed movement, stutter, or less responsive selection.
- Close or hide windows that are not contributing to the current task.
This is an editorial workflow recommendation based on vivo’s warning, not a measured performance threshold. If smoothness falls, reduce the number of windows before changing unrelated interaction assumptions.
6. Recenter carefully: the control path is not documented
The official overview mentions one-click picture realignment while you turn your head. It does not identify the button, gesture, or menu path. Because an incorrect shortcut could trigger another action, use the on-screen control presented by your software version or the current owner documentation. Do not treat a guessed button combination as an official instruction.

What to do when the view feels offset
- Stop moving and check that the headset is sitting level.
- Look for an explicitly labeled realignment or recenter control in the current interface.
- Apply that control once, then reassess a fixed target.
- If the offset returns after the headset shifts, correct the band fit before repeatedly recentering.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The pointer feels inaccurate
- Re-seat the headset and test the single-loop or double-loop band that holds it more steadily.
- Practice looking first and pinching second; a moving head and simultaneous gesture can make selection harder.
- Check for an explicitly documented calibration option in your software build. The public product pages do not establish one.
The scene is too bright or too dark
- Open the selected theme’s day/night control and switch it manually.
- Do not wait for an automatic clock change; that behavior is not what vivo’s footnote describes.
Windows or interaction feel sluggish
- Close windows that are not needed for the current task.
- Re-test after reducing the virtual screen count, since vivo warns that excessive windows can affect smoothness.
- Check fit and recentering only after reducing load; do not assume every delay is an eye-tracking problem.
The image is misaligned after turning
- Hold the headset steady and use the realignment control identified by your current software.
- If you cannot find a labeled control, consult the current owner guide rather than using an unverified menu path.
Recommended starting profiles
| Goal | Starting choices | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Multitasking | Stable band fit, windowed workspace, day or night appearance chosen manually, two or three essential windows. | Keeps several anchored screens visible while limiting unnecessary system load. |
| Focused single-scene use | Stable band fit, one immersive theme, manually selected day or night appearance, minimal extra windows. | Preserves the full virtual environment without adding interface clutter. |
| Learning the controls | Whichever band is most stable, a simple scene, one large target, and one window. | Separates gaze-and-pinch practice from visual and multitasking complexity. |
None of these profiles is a universal best preset. vivo’s pages describe the available options but do not report comparative user testing among bands, themes, or modes.
What is and is not established by the public documentation
The available product information supports the existence of the band choices, three named themes, windowed floating and resizable screens, manual day/night switching, gaze pointing, two-finger pinch confirmation, and the manufacturer’s stated tracking and passthrough figures. It does not establish current regional stock, a complete settings manual, exact menu labels, an adjustable tracking-sensitivity control, or a universal window limit. Software behavior and availability can change by region and update, so verify those details on the device and in the latest official documentation before relying on them.
