Make dialogue easier to hear
Speech Enhancement boosts frequencies associated with human voices. To try it, play TV audio through the Beam Ultra, open the Sonos app’s Now Playing view, and toggle Speech Enhancement on. Compare a familiar scene with the feature on and off, then leave it enabled only if it helps you follow speech.

Use Night Sound for quiet viewing
When you need to keep the overall volume low, toggle Night Sound from Now Playing while TV audio is playing. Sonos says the feature reduces the intensity of loud sounds and raises quieter sounds, which can make dialogue clearer without increasing the overall volume. Run Trueplay after setup or a room change
Trueplay measures how sound reflects from walls, furnishings, and other surfaces, then tunes the Beam Ultra for the room. In the Sonos app, open the Beam Ultra’s Sound settings and choose Trueplay. Beam Ultra supports Quick tuning on iOS and Android; Advanced tuning is available on iOS.
Retune if you move the soundbar or change the system configuration. You can still adjust EQ after Trueplay; Sonos says those EQ changes are layered on top of the tuning. The support guidance does not prescribe a standard bass, treble, or other EQ value for movies, so make small changes to suit your room and preference rather than treating a particular curve as universal. Adjust Atmos height audio while an Atmos title plays
To change height effects, open Settings > My System > [Beam Ultra room] > Sound > Height Audio in the Sonos app. Adjust the Height Level slider to taste while playing an Atmos title. Sonos does not identify one recommended level for every setup.

Check the signal chain if Atmos is missing
Changing Height Audio cannot make a non-Atmos signal into Atmos. Beam Ultra supports Atmos TV playback, but the format received depends on the TV connection, the source device, and whether the particular title and service provide an Atmos track.
- Check the title and source: An Atmos-capable service does not mean every title has an Atmos track. Check that the selected title and the device playing it are delivering Atmos.
- Check the TV connection: Sonos documents Dolby Digital Plus Atmos over HDMI ARC. Lossless Dolby TrueHD Atmos requires eARC.
- Check the reported format: Look in the Sonos app to see what audio format the Beam Ultra is receiving. If Atmos is not reported, troubleshoot the content, source, TV capability, and ARC/eARC connection before changing the Height Level.

Which other settings matter for TV?
If your system includes surrounds, adjust their TV Level in the Sonos app if their contribution is too strong or too subtle. Ambient/Full Music Playback concerns music playback, not TV audio, so it is not a movie or television setting. Sonos: Adjust surround audio settings
