First, identify which Tab S10 FE you own
Compatibility is the easiest place to make an expensive mistake. Samsung distinguishes the standard Galaxy Tab S10 FE from the Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ and lists keyboard products for them separately.

Before paying, read the seller’s compatibility statement rather than relying on a photograph or a generic phrase such as “for Tab S10.” Check the exact tablet variant, the region and keyboard layout, and whether the listing identifies a model number. A product marked only for the FE+ is not a safe choice for the 10.9-inch FE.

The $60 difference between those dated U.S. MSRPs is useful for framing the choice, but it is not a current street-price comparison and does not apply automatically outside the United States. Samsung says prices can change without notice. Check the current total, including shipping and taxes, in your region.
When the Book Cover Keyboard is worth it
Choose the standard Book Cover Keyboard when you expect to type regularly rather than occasionally. It is the strongest candidate for turning the tablet into a writing workstation for documents, messages, notes or coursework. The value comes from using a physical keyboard often enough that on-screen typing becomes a recurring inconvenience.

It is harder to justify if you mainly watch video, browse, read or take handwritten notes. In those cases, you may carry extra weight and spend more without using the keyboard frequently. Samsung’s listing establishes the accessory and model number, but the available information does not provide an independent test of key feel, travel, rigidity, typing noise, trackpad behavior or long-term hinge durability. Do not treat the product name or price as evidence of a tested performance advantage.
When the Slim model is the better compromise
The Book Cover Keyboard Slim is the logical alternative when a lower dated list price and a thinner, lighter cover matter more than choosing the fuller keyboard-cover option. It remains a separately listed accessory for the standard FE, not merely a cosmetic variation of a generic case.
Buy it only after confirming the exact model and regional keyboard layout. “Slim” does not, by itself, establish how much lighter it is, how the keys feel or whether its protection differs in ways that matter to you; those details were not established in the published material available here. Who should consider one
- People who carry the tablet with keys, chargers or other objects that could mark the display.
- Users who work under bright lights and specifically want an anti-reflecting surface.
- Owners who prefer replacing an inexpensive protector instead of worrying about the tablet’s original display.
Who can reasonably skip it
You can defer a protector if the tablet stays in a controlled environment, you already use a secure cover and you are comfortable handling the bare display. Skipping it is a preference decision, not a sign that the tablet is incomplete.

- Verify that the package names the standard Galaxy Tab S10 FE and, where shown, its exact model family.
- Decide whether your priority is anti-reflection, scratch resistance, impact protection or easy replacement; one material may not optimize all four.
- Check installation requirements and whether the protector is compatible with your chosen cover.
- Buy from a seller with a clear return policy in case alignment, bubbles or edge fit are unacceptable.
The S Pen is already included
Samsung’s specification says the S Pen comes in the box with the tablet. A new buyer therefore should not add a second stylus by default.
Samsung also states that Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is not supported. That qualification matters when comparing replacement pens or expecting remote-control-style functions. The available information does not establish a need for a separately purchased pen for ordinary note-taking or drawing.
When a replacement pen makes sense
- Your included S Pen is lost or damaged.
- You need a spare for a second location, such as an office or classroom.

Specific case performance, current prices and detailed stand angles were not established, so no single cover can be declared the universal winner. For any Samsung or third-party case, check the following:
- The compatibility statement says Galaxy Tab S10 FE, not only Tab S10 FE+.
- Openings line up with the tablet’s cameras, speakers, buttons and charging port.
- The case supports the orientation and viewing angle you actually use.
- The cover does not interfere with your chosen keyboard or screen protector.
- The seller provides a return route if the fit is wrong.

What the tablet’s IP68 rating does—and does not—mean for accessories
Samsung rates the tablet and included S Pen IP68 based on laboratory testing in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. Samsung says use at the beach or pool is not advised and that resistance can diminish with normal wear.
This is a condition-limited rating for the tablet and included pen, not a claim that a keyboard, cover or screen protector is waterproof. Do not select an accessory on the assumption that the entire setup can be submerged. Keep salt water, chlorinated water and wet charging situations out of your buying decision unless the accessory maker provides its own specific protection statement.

The most concrete prices available for the standard FE keyboard accessories are Samsung Electronics America’s March 2026 U.S. list prices: $199.99 for EF-DX725 and $139.99 for EF-DX720. Samsung’s September 2025 U.S. sheet is useful for confirming that the FE anti-reflective protector appears in the accessory lineup, but it should not be used as proof of current stock. Availability, bundles, taxes, keyboard layouts and warranty terms can vary by country, carrier and retailer.
