Samsung describes the S26 family as having Galaxy AI across all three models, while also noting that each is designed for different needs. The published hardware differences offer a practical way to choose; they do not establish that one model has a better AI experience overall.

Choose Galaxy S26 for a smaller flagship
Start with the S26 if you prefer a 6.3-inch display and do not need the larger screens of its siblings. Samsung lists a typical 4,300 mAh battery and a 50 MP main wide camera for this model.

Choose Galaxy S26+ for more screen and capacity
The S26+ moves up to a 6.7-inch display and a typical 4,900 mAh battery. Its listed main wide camera is 50 MP, like the S26’s, making it the straightforward option if screen size and battery capacity matter more to you than the Ultra’s camera configuration or Privacy Display.
Choose Galaxy S26 Ultra for its specific hardware features
The Ultra has a 6.9-inch display, a typical 5,000 mAh battery, a 200 MP main wide camera and a built-in Privacy Display. Consider it if those features justify a larger phone for you; the listed specifications do not show that it supports more Galaxy AI features than the other S26 models.

Does Galaxy AI work the same on every Galaxy phone?
No. Samsung says feature availability can vary by device and software version, and its compatibility materials list support feature by feature. Some older Galaxy S and Z phones support selected Galaxy AI features, sometimes after a software update, but that does not mean they receive every feature available on the newest phones.

Samsung’s US guide says some Galaxy AI operations use the cloud and others run on-device, and that settings let users restrict cloud processing. Do not assume every feature works offline or handles data in the same way. The same guide says Photo Assist, Creative Studio and Writing Assist support 41 languages as of July 2026; that figure applies to those named tools, not every Galaxy AI feature.

Compare the particular Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models sold in your region. Samsung lists Galaxy AI support across selected Z models, but the supported features vary. Check the regional compatibility table against the exact model and feature you intend to use before settling on a foldable.

If price matters more than the full feature set
Check the exact A-series model and its supported features rather than assuming it includes the full Galaxy AI suite. Samsung’s Germany guide lists more limited AI-related support on selected A-series phones, while its US compatibility page differs. Availability and pricing are market-specific.

How to check Galaxy AI support before you buy
- Write down the feature you care about. “Galaxy AI” is not one uniform capability; identify the particular tool you expect to use.
- Find the full model name and region. Check the exact phone and country listing, not just the product family name.
- Check Samsung’s feature-by-feature compatibility information. Start with Samsung US Galaxy AI compatibility and support for US models or Samsung Germany’s Galaxy AI feature table for its listed regional models.
- Confirm the software requirement. Samsung notes that some older supported devices need a software update and that availability can depend on software version.
- Check language and processing needs where relevant. Confirm the feature’s supported language and whether its cloud or on-device behavior suits you; Samsung describes these details in its US support guide.
Recommendation by priority
- Smaller S-series phone: Galaxy S26.
- Larger screen and battery: Galaxy S26+.
- Largest screen, 200 MP main camera or Privacy Display: Galaxy S26 Ultra.
- Foldable design: Compare supported Galaxy Z models against the exact feature you need.
- Lower price: Verify the AI features on the specific A-series model and regional listing rather than assuming full-suite support.
