Samsung’s Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are confirmed to have ultrasonic fingerprint sensors beneath the display. Samsung’s US business specification sheet also lists ultrasonic fingerprint biometrics for the Galaxy S25 family, but that document reflects information current as of January 22, 2025. Exact specifications can vary by release country, so verify the regional model before buying.
Which Samsung phones are confirmed to have an in-display fingerprint sensor?
| Model family | What Samsung’s source confirms | Scope and date |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra | On-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor | Samsung Service Center Korea specification page, dated February 26, 2026; Samsung notes that specifications may differ by release country. Samsung Korea specifications |

How to verify a phone before buying
- Match the full model name. Check whether the listing is for an S26, S26+, S26 Ultra, or a specific S25-family phone; do not assume every Samsung model has the same sensor placement.
- Check the regional and carrier version. Samsung warns that specifications may differ by release country. Confirm the exact SKU on Samsung’s local product or support page, including any carrier-specific version. Samsung Korea specifications and regional caveat
- Look for placement, not just sensor presence. A specification that says only “fingerprint sensor” does not establish that it is under the display.
Why a generic fingerprint listing is not enough
Samsung India’s Galaxy A26 5G specification page lists a fingerprint sensor, but the cited information does not say that it is on-screen. That listing alone is not evidence that the A26 5G has an in-display sensor. Samsung India Galaxy A26 5G specifications

What these specifications do—and do not—tell you
The cited Samsung sources confirm sensor placement or biometric type for the model families listed above. They do not establish a comparative ranking for unlocking speed, reliability, security, or performance with screen protectors. Do not infer those characteristics from the word “ultrasonic” alone; consult model-specific documentation for any feature that matters to your decision.
