If your Realme phone is draining fast, start with the display: lower or automate brightness, shorten screen timeout, and choose Standard refresh rate if your model offers it. Then check Battery usage details before limiting apps. Use Power Saving Mode when its reduced background activity and syncing are acceptable, and treat optimized standby as an option that can delay notifications. Settings paths differ by realme UI version and edition, so search Settings for the control name if a path does not match your phone.

Start with the display settings

The screen is a practical first place to look. realme recommends using automatic brightness or lowering brightness manually. For long camera sessions, its guidance also suggests a 15- or 30-second screen timeout. These are manufacturer recommendations; realme does not publish a guaranteed battery-life gain for changing them. realme Global: Phone power saving tips

Set a lower refresh rate if your phone supports it

On supported phones, the refresh-rate choice balances smoother motion against power use. High uses the highest rate supported by the display and consumes more power; Standard selects 60 Hz to save power. Auto adapts to the application. realme India’s support page, updated 2025-01-08, describes 60 Hz as the setting value, not a promised battery-life improvement. Some Realme phones support only 60 Hz and therefore have no refresh-rate control. realme India: How to set screen refresh rate

  • realme UI 3.0 and later: Settings > Display & brightness > Screen refresh rate
  • realme UI 2.0 and 1.0: Settings > Display & brightness > More > Screen refresh rate
  • U edition: Settings > Display > Screen refresh rate

Find which apps are using battery before restricting them

Check Settings > Battery > Battery usage details to identify high-consumption apps, then decide whether a background restriction is appropriate. realme’s global advice is to investigate app use rather than apply limits indiscriminately. Its app-management controls can allow or disable foreground and background activity. Restrict apps selectively: background activity can support timely notifications and other app functions. realme Global: Phone power saving tips realme India: How to set Optimized battery use

Find app battery management on your UI version

  • realme UI 7.0 and 6.0: Settings > Battery > Power saving settings > App battery management
  • realme UI 5.0, 4.0, and 3.0: Settings > Battery > Advanced/More settings > Optimized battery use
  • realme UI 2.0: Settings > Battery > More battery settings > Optimized battery use
  • UI S, T, R, and Go editions: look for App standby optimizer. UI 1.0 and U are listed as unsupported for this feature.

These paths and edition notes come from realme India’s support guidance, updated 2025-12-29. If the named option is missing, search Settings for “app battery management,” “optimized battery use,” or “App standby optimizer”; availability depends on your software edition and model.

Use Power Saving Mode when its tradeoffs suit you

Power Saving Mode is a convenient choice when you want the phone to conserve energy without individually changing every app. realme says it may close some background apps, suspend automatic synchronization, reduce brightness, and turn off touch vibration. That can extend runtime at the expense of background activity and some convenience. Find it under Settings > Battery > Power Saving Mode; the exact label or path may vary. realme Global: Phone power saving tips

Know what optimized standby can do to notifications

Optimized standby can put the phone into a lower-power state while the screen is off. In some sleep scenarios it may turn off the network, and realme warns that app notifications may not arrive on time. It is therefore better suited to periods when immediate messages are not important than to a phone that must remain reliably reachable. realme India: How to set Optimized standby?

Turn off unused radios and location access

realme recommends switching off Wi-Fi, mobile data, Bluetooth, and location services when you are not using them. This is most useful when a connection or location access is genuinely unnecessary; do not disable connectivity you need for calls, messages, navigation, or an active app. The recommendation appears in realme Global’s power-saving guidance. realme Global: Phone power saving tips

Avoid High Performance Mode when battery life matters

realme says High Performance Mode can increase power consumption and heat, and is mainly intended for gaming. If your priority is runtime, leave it off. On realme UI 3.0 and later, the path is Settings > Battery > Advanced/More settings > Performance Mode > High Performance Mode; on UI 2.0, use Settings > Battery > More battery settings > Performance Mode. GT models use GT mode instead. R, Go, T, S, and U editions are listed as not supporting this option. realme India: How to turn on High Performance Mode

For camera-heavy days, reduce recording demands

If you expect extended photo or video use, realme suggests 1080p or 30 fps instead of 4K or 60 fps when the higher quality is unnecessary. It also recommends disabling flash and processing features when not needed, lowering brightness, and using a 15- or 30-second screen timeout. These suggestions are aimed at long camera sessions, not a universal daily setting. realme India: Phone power saving tips for camera use

When a menu path does not match

realme’s support instructions cover multiple UI generations and regional editions, and the same control is not available on every phone. Search Settings by the control’s name first. If it is still absent, check the support page for your exact model and region rather than assuming the phone is missing a battery-saving feature.
