What the battery-capacity and endurance claims mean
Redmi 17 capacity differs by Xiaomi region page
Xiaomi India’s product page lists a 7,900mAh typical battery, while Xiaomi Global and Digit give 7,500mAh. Treat 7,900mAh as the India page’s regional specification and note that the sources disagree; do not combine the figures or infer runtime from capacity alone. Xiaomi India’s page also advertises “2.5-day battery life,” “20+hrs video playback” and “Up to 146 hours Music playback.” These are manufacturer claims, not independent comparative test results.
Xiaomi Global lists 7,500mAh and calls battery life “2-day.” Its moderate-use scenario includes typical home-screen use, music, social media, email, maps, video streaming and standby. Xiaomi says results vary with environment, software, network and personal use, so these are internal-lab claims rather than a guarantee for an individual buyer.

Charging is a separate buying consideration
Xiaomi India lists 45W charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging for the Redmi 17 5G. Digit says its review unit took about 70 minutes to charge from zero to full. That is one review-unit result, not a guaranteed charge time; conditions can affect charging.

Which trade-offs should you consider?
- Budget and configuration: At Beebom’s listed prices, the Redmi 17 5G 6GB/128GB fits; its 8GB/128GB version does not. The vivo T4 is listed at ₹24,999, leaving little room below the cap.
- Display and size: Digit describes the Redmi 17 as having a 6.9-inch, 720p LCD with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a weight of 232g. A large, lower-resolution LCD may have different power demands from an AMOLED rival, but panel type alone does not determine battery life.
- Capacity versus measured endurance: Capacity is useful context, but a larger mAh figure is not a substitute for a measured runtime under comparable conditions.
- Stretching the budget: 91mobiles lists the Redmi Note 17 5G 6GB/128GB at ₹27,999, above the limit. Its listed 8,000mAh battery and FHD+ AMOLED display may make it relevant if your budget changes, but it is not an under-₹25,000 option at that listing.
