Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteOn a new Infinix HOT 70 Pro 5G, change settings in this order: verify the exact regional model, install any official system update, secure the screen, choose a refresh rate, then review battery and network options. Those steps improve security and usability without assuming that one configuration suits every country, carrier or software build.
Start by confirming which HOT 70 Pro you have
Before following a menu path, check the model name and number on the box or in Settings > About phone. Infinix’s India product page identifies the handset as HOT 70 Pro, model X6896, with XOS 16 based on Android 16. The Russian regional specification page uses the name HOT 70 Pro 5G+ for the same model number, X6896. Use the name displayed on your device rather than assuming that every regional guide describes an identical build.

Regional differences matter because Infinix says battery configuration, feature availability and XOS features can vary by market and configuration. The India specifications are manufacturer figures, not independent measurements: a 6.76-inch, 1080 × 2344 display, a typical 6000mAh battery, 45W charging, a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera are listed for that market. Verify your own capacity and features before treating those numbers as universal. See the India HOT 70 Pro specifications and the Russia regional specification page.
1. Check for an official system update
Updates should come before you personalize the phone. They can change menu names, correct faults and add security fixes, so instructions written for another XOS build may not match what you see.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Use the manufacturer’s generic update path
- Open Settings.
- Choose About phone.
- Look for the system-update option and check for an update.
- Install only an update offered by the phone for your model and region, preferably while connected to a reliable Wi‑Fi network and with sufficient charge.
- Restart if the installer requests it, then check the software version again.
That route comes from Infinix Mobiles India’s generic FAQ; it is not a device-specific screenshot. If your build places the control elsewhere, use the Settings search field for “update” or “system update” rather than selecting an unofficial package.
Understand the stated support promise
Infinix announced “up to 3 major OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches” for the HOT 70 Pro 5G in an August 2026 release. “Up to” is a maximum commitment, not a guarantee that every country receives every upgrade on the same date. Confirm the terms for your exact X6896 variant before relying on a particular future Android or XOS version. The announcement is available from Infinix via PR Newswire.
2. Set a secure screen lock
A screen lock protects locally stored messages, photos, accounts and payment credentials if the phone is lost. Set it before adding banking apps or moving sensitive data onto the handset.

Find the lock control
Infinix’s FAQ gives this generic path: Settings > Security > Screen lock. The FAQ’s wording is “Go to Settings–Security–Screen lock.” Labels can differ by region or XOS build, so search Settings for screen lock if you do not see those entries.
Choose a method you can use reliably
- A long PIN is usually faster and less exposed than a pattern viewed over your shoulder.
- A password provides the strongest option among the basic lock types but takes longer to enter.
- Set biometric unlocking only after a primary PIN, password or pattern exists; the primary credential is still required after some restarts or security events.
- Do not use an easily guessed number such as a birthday, repeated digits or the last four digits of a phone number.
Record the credential in a secure password manager or another protected place. A forgotten lock can require a reset, which may erase local data; the recovery process depends on the account and software version.
3. Pick the refresh rate that matches your priorities
The HOT 70 Pro specification lists four refresh-rate choices: 45Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz. Higher rates can make scrolling, supported games and animations look smoother. Lower rates can be a reasonable efficiency preference, but Infinix does not publish a measured battery saving for any option, so do not expect a guaranteed number of extra hours.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
| Available rate | Best fit | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|
| 45Hz | Readers who prioritize efficiency and do not need very fluid motion | Less smooth scrolling and animation |
| 90Hz | A middle ground for everyday apps | Not as fluid as 120Hz or 144Hz in motion-heavy use |
| 120Hz | Users who want noticeably smoother navigation and games | May use more power than a lower preference; no model-specific measurement is published |
| 144Hz | Users who value the smoothest supported interface and compatible game output | Potentially lower efficiency; actual behavior depends on software and content |
The India product FAQ describes the phone as having an FHD+ punch-hole display with a 144Hz refresh rate, while the specification lists all four selectable values. Because the product page does not publish a model-specific menu path, open Settings and search for refresh rate, screen refresh rate or display smoothness. If your build exposes fewer choices, use the options it actually offers rather than forcing a setting through third-party software.

4. Review battery use and power saving
Do not switch on every aggressive power-saving feature immediately. First inspect what is consuming energy, then decide whether the resulting restrictions fit your routine.
Inspect usage before changing limits
- Open Settings and select Battery, the generic path given in Infinix’s FAQ.
- Review the usage list and note apps that consume an unusual share while you are not using them.
- Update, uninstall or restrict an app only when its behavior explains a real problem; do not disable essential messaging, security or backup services blindly.
- Use the available power-saving control when you need longer operation away from a charger, and read the on-screen description so you know which background or performance functions it limits.
The India page lists a typical 6000mAh battery and 45W charging. Those are rated specifications, not a promise of a particular runtime or charging time. The launch announcement says battery configuration can vary by market, and charging speed also depends on the charger, cable, temperature and phone state. Treat power saving as a trade-off between endurance and responsiveness, not as a guaranteed battery-life fix.

Match battery choices to your day
- For regular access to a charger, leave normal operation enabled and address individual high-use apps.
- For travel or a long workday, enable the phone’s power-saving mode before the battery is critically low.
- If the phone becomes warm, drains rapidly while idle or shows a sudden change after an update, observe the Battery screen for a day before making several changes at once. Changing one variable at a time makes the cause easier to identify.
5. Leave network mode to your carrier and location
The product page lists 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G support, but Infinix warns that bandwidth availability and connectivity vary by region and provider. There is therefore no universally correct “5G-only” setting.
Choose based on coverage and data needs
- Keep the carrier-recommended automatic mode when you move between areas or rely on voice coverage as well as data.
- Consider a lower-generation preference only when local 5G coverage is inconsistent, your plan does not include 5G, or you are troubleshooting unstable service.
- Do not infer that a displayed 5G icon guarantees a particular speed; congestion, spectrum, signal strength and the carrier’s network all affect results.
Menu names for preferred network type differ by XOS build and SIM configuration. Search Settings for mobile network, preferred network type or the name of your SIM. Check your carrier’s instructions before changing a mode, especially while roaming.
Settings to change only when you have a specific need
Auto-rotate
Auto-rotate is not a mandatory first-day optimization. If the screen stays locked in portrait or landscape when an app should rotate, Infinix’s generic troubleshooting path is Settings > Display, where you can look for the rotation control. Use the quick-settings tile if your build provides one, and turn rotation back off if accidental orientation changes are more annoying than useful.
Best Value

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Camera defaults
Do not reset the camera as routine maintenance. Infinix’s FAQ gives Camera > Settings > Restore defaults as a troubleshooting action. It is appropriate after a camera setting causes a problem or after you deliberately want to discard custom options; it is not a performance upgrade and can remove preferences you intended to keep.
Do not treat the IP rating as a setting
The Russia regional page lists IP68 protection but warns that ingress protection can deteriorate with wear or physical damage and that submersion damage is not covered by warranty. There is nothing to enable in Settings that makes the phone waterproof. Keep ports and seals away from unnecessary liquid exposure, and do not use the rating as permission for deliberate submersion. These cautions apply even when the phone is new.
A practical first-day order
Complete the checks in this sequence, stopping when a step does not apply to your build:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors- Confirm the regional name, model number and software version.
- Install an official update offered under the phone’s About phone controls.
- Create a strong screen lock before transferring sensitive information.
- Set the refresh rate by choosing the smoothness or efficiency preference you can actually notice.
- Inspect Battery usage, then apply power saving only when its restrictions are worthwhile.
- Keep network selection automatic unless your carrier or coverage makes another mode necessary.
- Use auto-rotate or camera reset only to solve the specific problem those controls address.
This order separates security and software maintenance from personal preferences. It also avoids promising a particular battery runtime, network speed or menu layout when Infinix’s regional pages do not establish one for every HOT 70 Pro 5G configuration.
