Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest
The official listing includes the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest with Standard. It is also included with Deluxe, so buying the more expensive edition is not necessary to obtain this quest.
Who should choose it
- Buy Standard if this is your first playthrough and you mainly want the story and exploration.
- Choose Standard when you are buying for someone who has not asked for Dark Arts-themed bonuses.
- Use Standard when the local price difference is substantial and the listed extras are not important to you.
- Select Standard if you prefer a physical product and your local retailer lists only that format; verify the exact contents on the product page.
What Deluxe adds
Dark Arts Garrison Hat
This hat is marked as a Digital Deluxe-exclusive item. That wording matters: a Deluxe label on a retailer page does not automatically mean every physical package includes the hat. Confirm that the listing is specifically Digital Deluxe if the hat is the reason you are upgrading.
Dark Arts Pack

Thestral Mount
Deluxe includes a Thestral Mount. This is a mount option rather than a separate game or campaign. It may appeal to collectors and players who want the Dark Arts presentation throughout their character’s travels, but it is not required to finish the base adventure.
Dark Arts Cosmetic Set
The Dark Arts Cosmetic Set is a separate listed addition to the Deluxe contents. Because the official edition comparison names the set without establishing every visual slot or customization rule, check the platform-specific description if a particular outfit or appearance is important to you.
Dark Arts Battle Arena
The Dark Arts Battle Arena is also included with Deluxe. It is additional combat-focused content listed separately from the base game and the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest. Is Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe worth buying?
There is no single universal value answer because the official pages captured for this comparison do not provide a stable price across countries, currencies or stores. Decide by comparing the live local prices and asking whether you would actually use the listed additions.

- You expect to spend time in the Dark Arts Battle Arena.
- You want the complete set of named Dark Arts content and the local surcharge is acceptable.
- You are purchasing digitally and the store clearly identifies the product as Digital Deluxe with the contents you expect.
Standard is the better value when
- Your goal is the core story, Hogwarts exploration and ordinary progression.
- You are indifferent to cosmetic items and alternate mounts.
- You are uncertain whether you will play the additional arena content.
- The price gap is high in your region or a sale makes Standard notably cheaper.
- You are buying a physical edition whose packaging does not clearly confirm the Digital Deluxe-exclusive hat.
Platform and store selection can change the answer
The official buying flow asks shoppers to select a platform and then a store. That step is not cosmetic: editions, formats, entitlements and prices are tied to the platform listing you purchase. The official PlayStation page presents Hogwarts Legacy for PS4 and PS5 and shows both Standard and Deluxe, but you should still open the listing for the console or computer you actually own.

Common buying mistakes
Paying for Deluxe because of launch-era early access
Deluxe had a 72-hour early-access benefit during the game’s launch period, according to the official launch-era explainer. That was a historical release perk, not a current reason to pay more. Treat present-day Deluxe value as a question of the listed Dark Arts content and mount instead.

Assuming every Deluxe listing contains the same package
The official comparison is the strongest reference for the current edition names, but regional storefronts and product formats can differ. A retailer title that says “Deluxe” may not explain whether it is digital, physical, cross-generation or tied to a particular platform. Open the detailed contents and match them to your hardware.
Confusing the quest with a Deluxe-only bonus
Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest appears in both Standard and Deluxe. It should not be used as a reason to upgrade.
Expecting a price recommendation that applies everywhere
A currency conversion or an old sale price cannot establish today’s best deal in your country. Compare the live local listings at the moment you buy, and account for taxes, delivery and any platform-specific promotion.

Buying for the wrong platform

The edition comparison does not by itself establish physical inventory in every market. If you want a disc, cartridge or boxed code, inspect the retailer’s exact product description and packaging notes. If you want immediate download access, make sure the digital store lists the edition and extras you expect. The format decision is separate from the Standard-versus-Deluxe content decision.
For Deluxe buyers, this distinction is especially important because the Dark Arts Garrison Hat is specifically identified as Digital Deluxe-exclusive. A physical package may include other Deluxe entitlements without including that exact digital-only item, depending on the product and region.
