Change four settings only when you have a reason: DPI (cursor sensitivity), polling rate (how often the mouse reports movement), lift-off distance (LOD), and debounce time (click-recognition delay). The right values depend on your exact Glorious model, its software generation, the game’s polling support, and your mouse surface. Start with the documented defaults, change one setting at a time, save the profile, and keep the combination that feels controlled and reliable.
Before touching a slider, identify whether you have a Model O 2, a PRO model, a first-generation Model O/O-, or a wireless variant. Glorious documents different ranges and defaults for each. The figures below come from Glorious product guides accessed in 2026; they are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of aim improvement or latency.

Identify your mouse and the software it supports
Software compatibility is the first setting decision. The Model O 2 Wired can work for basic use without Glorious CORE, but CORE is required for personalized DPI settings and fuller customization such as macros, button remapping, expanded RGB controls, and saving profiles. First-generation Model O and O- Wired mice do not support CORE; they use the separate Model O Wired software.

Do not apply a Model O 2 profile to a different generation simply because the names look similar. Wireless operation, firmware, switch type, and the mouse’s physical sensor can change the available controls. Check the label on the underside or the product information shown by the software, then install the matching application and firmware.

Documented model differences
| Model or guide | Polling specification | LOD | Debounce | Software note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Model O 2 Wired | 1,000 Hz default (1 ms) | 1 mm default; 1–2 mm adjustable | 10 ms default; 0–16 ms adjustable | CORE optional for basic use, needed for full customization |
| Model O 2 Mini Wired | 1,000 Hz default | 1 mm default; 1–2 mm adjustable | 2 ms default; 0–16 ms adjustable | Use the Model O 2/CORE generation controls |
| PRO 1KHz mice | 1,000 Hz default | 1 mm default; 1–2 mm adjustable | 10 ms default; 4–16 ms adjustable | PRO-generation controls and ranges apply |
| PRO 4K/8KHz mice | Up to 4,000 Hz wireless and 8,000 Hz wired | 1 mm default | 10 ms default; 4–16 ms adjustable | Choose a rate supported by the game and system |
| First-generation Model O/O- Wired | Model-specific; not a CORE setting | 2 mm default; 2–3 mm adjustable | 10 ms default; 4–16 ms adjustable | Use Model O Wired software, not CORE |
| Model O 2 Wireless | 1,000 Hz default | 1 mm default; 1–2 mm adjustable | Varies by wireless variant | Do not assume wired debounce or battery behavior applies |
These values are starting references, not a universal “best Glorious setting.” If a control is absent in your software, the model or firmware may not support it; do not force a setting from another guide.
DPI: choose controllable sensitivity, not the biggest number
DPI describes how much sensor movement is reported for a given physical distance. A higher DPI moves the pointer farther with the same hand motion; it does not automatically make a gaming mouse more accurate. Your game’s sensitivity multiplier then scales that input again, so changing both at once can make it difficult to understand what changed.
Use the documented Model O 2 Wired levels as a baseline
Glorious lists 400, 800, 1,600, and 3,200 DPI for the Model O 2 Wired, with 1,600 DPI as the factory default. Treat that default as a reproducible starting point rather than a recommendation for every player. Pick the level that lets you turn, track, and stop without running out of pad space or making small corrections feel jumpy.

- Set one DPI level in CORE (or the matching software for your generation).
- Leave the game’s sensitivity unchanged while you test it.
- Play a short practice session that includes slow tracking, quick turns, and precise clicks.
- If you change DPI, retune the game sensitivity deliberately and record the pair so you can restore it.
Consistency matters more than a fashionable number. A very high DPI combined with a very low in-game sensitivity can produce a similar overall turn distance to a lower DPI and higher game sensitivity, but the controls, menus, and firmware behavior may feel different. There is no official evidence that the highest listed DPI produces better competitive results.
Polling rate: match the game and your hardware
Polling rate is the number of position reports sent to the computer each second. A 1,000 Hz setting corresponds to a nominal 1 ms reporting interval, which is the documented default for the standard Model O 2 guides. Higher rates create more reports, but they are useful only when the game, operating system, connection mode, and system workload handle them properly.
When to keep 1,000 Hz
Keep the default when your mouse is a standard 1KHz model, when a game offers no higher-rate support, or when increasing the rate causes uneven frame pacing, extra processor load, or no perceptible benefit. The default is also a sensible troubleshooting value because it is the documented baseline for several models.

When 4K or 8K can be selected
PRO 4K/8KHz models list up to 4,000 Hz in wireless mode and 8,000 Hz over a wired connection. Glorious’s guide says to check the game’s maximum supported polling rate and adjust the mouse in CORE accordingly. If you select 8,000 Hz, Glorious recommends disabling Motion Sync to achieve consistent 8K polling. That recommendation is specific to the high-polling guide; it is not a reason to disable Motion Sync on every model or every rate.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Confirm that your exact PRO model and connection mode support the target rate.
- Check the game’s documentation or settings for its maximum supported mouse polling rate.
- Select a supported value in CORE, starting with the game’s limit rather than the mouse’s maximum.
- Test frame pacing and input behavior in the actual game. If the result is unstable, step back to the previous rate.
Polling rate is a compatibility choice, not a guaranteed upgrade. The manufacturer specifications establish available rates; they do not establish a universal frame-rate, latency, or aim advantage.
Lift-off distance: stop tracking when you lift
Lift-off distance (LOD) is the height at which the sensor stops tracking as you raise the mouse. A lower LOD can reduce unwanted cursor movement while you reposition, which is useful for players who frequently lift a mouse on a small pad. It can also be less forgiving of an uneven or textured surface, so verify that tracking remains reliable.

On the Model O 2 Wired, the documented default is 1 mm and the available range is 1–2 mm. First-generation Model O/O- Wired documentation lists a higher 2 mm default with a 2–3 mm range. Those values are not interchangeable. The PRO guides list a 1 mm default, while the exact adjustable range should be taken from the control shown for your model.
Practical LOD adjustment
- Leave the factory value in place for your first game session.
- Lift the mouse in the same way you normally do during a fast reposition.
- If the pointer moves while the mouse is clearly off the surface, select the lowest available value.
- Move the mouse slowly at the height you normally lift it. If tracking cuts out too early or behaves inconsistently, return to the previous value and check the pad for wear, dust, or an uneven surface.
Glorious describes low LOD as helpful for preventing unwanted behavior, but its guides do not identify one ideal height for every pad, sensor, or player.

Debounce time: balance click filtering and false activations
Debounce time is the delay used to confirm a click rather than interpreting switch bounce as multiple clicks. Lowering it can make the control feel more immediate, but the safe range and factory value differ substantially between models.

The Model O 2 Wired lists 10 ms by default and allows 0–16 ms. The O 2 Mini Wired lists a 2 ms default with the same 0–16 ms range. PRO 1KHz and PRO 4K/8KHz guides list a 10 ms default and a 4–16 ms range. First-generation Model O/O- Wired documentation also lists 10 ms by default with a 4–16 ms range. Never copy the O 2 Wired 10 ms value onto the Mini as though it were universal.
How to adjust it responsibly
- Start at your model’s documented default.
- Lower the value by a small step only if you have a clear reason, such as unwanted click delay in a game that needs rapid repeated inputs.
- Test single-click menus, semi-automatic fire, drag actions, and rapid clicks.
- If you see double-clicks, missed clicks, or inconsistent activation, raise the value again.
Glorious warns in its CORE tips that PRO optical switches can activate when a mouse is lifted or dropped quickly. Its advanced debounce protection is specific to Model O 2 PRO and Model D 2 PRO, so do not assume that protection exists on another model. A lower number is not automatically better and can expose switch or handling behavior that a higher value filters.
Change and save settings in the supported software
The exact screen names can change with CORE releases, but the safe workflow is stable:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Install or open the software supported by your generation: CORE for compatible O 2 and PRO models, or Model O Wired software for first-generation Model O/O- Wired mice.
- Connect the mouse in the mode required for configuration. For a PRO wireless model, use the connection mode for which you want to set the polling rate.
- Select the detected mouse, then open its performance or sensor controls.
- Change one variable—DPI, polling rate, LOD, or debounce—while leaving the others unchanged.
- Save or apply the profile. Glorious’s CORE tips specifically remind users to save changes; an unsaved value may disappear when the software closes or the mouse is disconnected.
- Launch the intended game and test the setting in a practice area before using it in a match.
- Record the working values and keep a second profile with the documented defaults for troubleshooting.
If a setting does not appear, confirm the model name, software generation, firmware, and connection mode before reinstalling anything. A first-generation mouse will not gain CORE controls through a software update, and a wired-only polling option will not become available in wireless mode.
A model-aware starting plan
| Your situation | Start with | Change only if |
|---|---|---|
| Model O 2 Wired, general FPS play | 1,600 DPI, 1,000 Hz, 1 mm LOD, 10 ms debounce | You can describe a specific control or click problem |
| Model O 2 Mini Wired | Its documented 2 ms debounce default; use the other factory values shown in its guide | Your own testing shows missed clicks, false clicks, or tracking issues |
| PRO 1KHz | 1,000 Hz, 1 mm LOD, 10 ms debounce | The game or your handling gives a reason to adjust |
| PRO 4K/8KHz | The game’s supported rate, not automatically 8,000 Hz | You have verified game support and stable frame pacing |
| First-generation Model O/O- Wired | Model O Wired software and its 2 mm LOD baseline | You need a lower or higher value within that model’s range |
The DPI entry in this table is a documented Model O 2 Wired baseline, not a universal prescription. For every other model, use the values displayed by its own guide and software.
Troubleshoot before blaming a setting
- Pointer moves while lifting: lower LOD one step, clean the sensor and pad, and retest at your normal lift height.
- Tracking cuts out: raise LOD within the supported range and check whether the surface is transparent, highly reflective, or uneven.
- Double-clicks or missed clicks: raise debounce, test another USB port, and check whether the issue follows the mouse.
- 8K feels unstable: confirm wired operation, disable Motion Sync as Glorious recommends for consistent 8K polling, and use the game’s supported maximum rather than the mouse’s advertised maximum.
- Settings disappear: return to the correct software generation, apply the profile, and save it before disconnecting.
- Controls are missing: verify the exact model and firmware; documented ranges differ between O 2, PRO, first-generation, wired, and wireless variants.
The useful rule is simple: change a setting to solve an observed problem, not because a larger number or lower delay sounds faster. Keep the profile that gives repeatable control in the game you actually play.
