The United Arab Emirates ranked first for mobile internet in Ookla’s June 2026 country table, with a median download speed of 760.93 Mbps. That result is for mobile broadband—not fixed broadband, an individual carrier’s peak, or every user’s connection. The answer changes with the connection type, statistic, and measurement period.
What “fastest network” means in this ranking
There is no single result for the fastest internet across every kind of network. Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index ranks countries separately for mobile and fixed broadband. Its figures describe speed-test results reported for a country and period; they are not theoretical network limits or a promise of the speed a particular person will receive.

The June 2026 mobile result is a country-level median download speed. It should not be compared as though it were the same measure as a global average or a fixed-broadband result.

Fastest country for mobile internet in June 2026
In Ookla’s displayed June 2026 mobile table, the United Arab Emirates leads with a median download speed of 760.93 Mbps. This is the country result for mobile broadband in that index period, not a record peak or an operator-level worldwide title. See Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index.

Ookla says the index is updated mid-month for the previous three months, so the monthly label refers to a rolling measurement window rather than a single day. The index has used a Precision Threshold for location inclusion since June 2024. Rankings can change as new test results enter the window.
Mobile and fixed broadband are different comparisons
Mobile broadband uses cellular networks; fixed broadband refers to connections intended for a fixed location. A country can perform differently in each category, and the leading country in one cannot be assumed to lead the other. The available June 2026 result establishes the mobile leader, but does not establish the fixed-broadband leader for that period.

For broader context, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) reported first-half 2025 global average download speeds of 92 Mbit/s for mobile broadband and 118 Mbit/s for fixed broadband, using user-generated data from Speedtest by Ookla. These are global averages, not country rankings or maximum speeds. Although Mbps and Mbit/s are equivalent units, the figures measure different populations and statistics: a country median in one month’s index versus global averages over the first half of 2025. Read the ITU Global Connectivity Report 2025.
Why a top country’s result is not everyone’s experience
Access and measured performance vary substantially between economies. In the first half of 2025, the ITU reported that low-income economies’ speeds were 30% of high-income economies’ mobile speeds and 20% of their fixed speeds. A leading national result therefore says little about the speed available to every household or mobile user, including within the country ranked first.

Built for pop-up retail POS, food trucks, trade-show booths and live media that cannot afford a single second of downtime.
- 【13.5h Battery + 30W PD Fast Charging】Up to 13.5 hours of untethered freedom on a single charge from the built-in 5150 mAh battery — 30W PD/PPS USB-C fast charge refills to full in roughly 1.3 hours, so a coffee break is enough to get you back online for the rest of the day.
Measurement setup also matters. The ITU notes that fixed-broadband speed measured on mobile devices connected through Wi-Fi may be underestimated. A test result reflects the connection and testing conditions involved; it is not necessarily the provider’s theoretical maximum or a direct measure of what another user will experience. The ITU report discusses its measurement context.

How to interpret a speed claim
- Check the category: mobile and fixed broadband rankings are separate.
- Check the statistic: a country median, a global average, and a peak-speed record are not interchangeable.
- Check the period: Ookla’s monthly index uses a rolling window for the previous three months and is updated mid-month.
- Check the geography: a country-level result does not identify the fastest individual carrier or guarantee an individual user’s speed.
