There is no universally best Call of Duty setting to lower: the right choice depends on your game release, hardware, resolution and whether your system is limited by the GPU or CPU. Start with demanding visual effects, test each change on its own, and keep it only if a repeatable benchmark or gameplay comparison improves performance without an unacceptable loss in image quality. Activision’s Black Ops 7 PC announcement confirms a built-in benchmark and multiple graphics and upscaling options, but does not publish FPS costs for individual settings: Black Ops 7 PC details.
How to find the settings that help on your PC
Call of Duty graphics menus vary by release and can change with patches, so treat the steps below as a testing method—not a universal preset or a promise of a particular FPS gain. Black Ops 7 is one current PC example; use the benchmark and options available in your own release.

- Record your starting point. Note your resolution, graphics settings and current performance in a repeatable benchmark or gameplay scene. Record average FPS and, if available, frame-time behavior or 1% lows.
- Keep the comparison controlled. Use the same scene, resolution and other settings each time. Change one option, then rerun the benchmark or repeat the scene.
- Compare the result with your goal. Keep the change only if it improves the performance measure you care about and the image-quality or visibility cost is acceptable. Restore it if the result is worse or indistinguishable.
- Test another option. Change one setting at a time and keep a brief before-and-after record. Changing several settings together makes it difficult to tell which one mattered.
Activision confirms that Black Ops 7 includes a PC Benchmark Tool, but does not publish official per-setting performance rankings or gains. The measurement process above is a practical way to use a repeatable comparison; it is not an Activision-prescribed sequence.
Which graphics options should you test first?
If your GPU is the limiting component, use the following as a cautious starting order for experiments. These are general graphics-setting heuristics, not an official Call of Duty ranking: test each category separately and verify the result on your hardware.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
Lighting, shadows, reflections and volumetric effects
Try reducing demanding lighting, shadow, reflection or volumetric options first. They can be sensible candidates when the GPU is under pressure, but the actual performance effect depends on the release, scene, resolution and graphics card. Check important gameplay areas after each change so that improved frame delivery does not come at a visibility cost you dislike.
Post-processing effects
Test post-processing options individually after the more demanding effects. Their impact and visual trade-offs vary between games and settings; avoid assuming that disabling a particular effect will produce a measurable gain on every PC.

- Tri-mode Connectivity: Wired for Xbox, 2.4G & Wired for PC, and Bluetooth for Android. The G7 Pro supports seamless connectivity across Xbox, PC, and Android. Effortlessly switch between modes using the convenient physical mode switch.
- TMR Sticks: The G7 Pro features GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, combining Hall Effect durability with traditional potentiometer performance. This advanced technology delivers stable polling rates for smooth, drift-free gaming with low power consumption.
- Hall Effect Analog Triggers: The GameSir precision-tuned Hall Effect analog triggers provide unmatched smoothness and linear input for precise control. Featuring clicky Micro Switch trigger stops, gamers can easily switch based on their preferences.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate on PC: Experience ultra-responsive gaming with a 1000Hz polling rate on PC, available through both wired and 2.4G wireless connections. This ensures instantaneous input registration, reducing lag and optimizing your performance for the most competitive gameplay.
- GameSir Nexus App: The G7 Pro is compatible with the upgraded GameSir Nexus app, which brings a significant upgrade over the original. It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Render resolution and upscaling
If testing indicates that the game is GPU-limited at your chosen resolution, compare the render-resolution and upscaling options available in that release. Black Ops 7’s PC announcement confirms multiple display resolutions and upscaling technologies, but does not identify one mode as best for every GPU. Compare image quality and performance in the same scene rather than choosing by name alone.
Texture detail and texture streaming
Lower local texture detail when memory pressure or asset behavior gives you a reason to test it. Do not confuse that setting with texture streaming: Activision describes On-Demand High-Quality Streaming as a quality-and-bandwidth control. Its “Minimal” option reduces graphical quality and internet bandwidth use; the guidance does not claim that it raises FPS.

- Versatile compatibility: supports Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One X/S consoles and PC Win10 and above (including the game platform Steam).
- Precise control: features Hall joysticks and Hall triggers for a comfortable feeling, long service life and improved game accuracy.
- Plug and Play Convenience: Wired USB connection (removable) for easy setup and instant play without the need for additional drivers.
- Customizable experience: Includes 2 custom backbuttons that allow users to eliminate false triggers and improve their gaming experience.
- Impressive gameplay: Provides a pulsating vibration trigger and an asymmetric vibration grip motor for intense tactile feedback.
Check whether graphics settings are the actual problem
Lowering GPU-heavy visual effects may do little if the CPU is limiting performance. Do not infer the bottleneck from your GPU model alone: compare the benchmark and actual gameplay, and look at frame-time or 1% low behavior where the game exposes it. If performance is uneven or interrupted rather than consistently below your target, investigate stutter and loading causes separately from a stable FPS ceiling.
Check the system requirements for your exact Call of Duty release when judging whether the hardware may be a constraint. Activision’s Black Ops 7 PC system requirements are release-specific, and its Black Ops 7 support hub links current PC requirements and performance help. Requirements describe supported hardware tiers; they are not benchmark results or FPS guarantees.

Steam and Warzone checks for stutter or performance trouble
For Warzone specifically, Activision says shader preloading is an important first-boot process. Leaving the Main Menu interrupts it and can cause performance issues. If you are troubleshooting Warzone, let preloading finish before judging performance and follow the current Warzone PC support guidance; do not assume the same advice applies to a different Call of Duty release without checking its support page.
Activision also recommends verifying Steam game files as a troubleshooting step. In Steam, open the game’s Properties, choose Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files. Verification can help address file problems; it does not establish that a stable FPS ceiling will increase.

What to expect from the comparison
A result on one PC or release does not establish a universal best setting or a predictable FPS gain elsewhere. Activision’s published materials cited here confirm a benchmark, customization, requirements and troubleshooting guidance, but do not quantify the FPS cost of individual graphics options. Use your own repeatable results to decide which image-quality trade-offs are worthwhile.
