For a broadly useful first purchase, unlock the first Increase EXP tier: it costs 500 Karma Shards and raises EXP gain by 10%, according to a September 24, 2026 guide. After that, prioritize Class EXP and only the weapon or skill proficiency upgrades your deployed roster needs. This is a flexible starting order, not a proven universal optimum; route, recruitment plans, recurring spending and preferred difficulty can change what is best.
How Boons of Salvation work
Karma Shards are earned through Notable Deeds. Boons bought with them apply across save routes and can be switched on or off after purchase, according to a fan reference. A practical early purchase order
- Increase EXP, first tier. The September 24, 2026 guide lists the first tier at 10% additional EXP for 500 Karma Shards. It is the broadest default pick in the guide’s order because it supports general character growth. If you want a slower progression curve or a tougher challenge, you may prefer to delay it. - Increase Class EXP. The guide recommends this next to speed class progression. Higher tiers are route-gated, and the guide reports 300 Karma Shards for several first-tier options, including Class EXP; confirm the exact current cost and availability in the in-game menu. Source: AllThingsHow
- Weapon or skill proficiency that fits your roster. These upgrades add battle skill EXP. Buy categories used by characters you deploy or expect to need for planned certifications, rather than spending on every proficiency automatically. The value depends on your route and team. - Discounts or Rich Deposits, if you use them often. Blessing discounts can move up the list if you regularly spend Blessings; Rich Deposits are more attractive if you make repeated use of dungeon materials. Their value depends on how often those systems feature in your play.
- Meals, carriage or gifts discounts, according to routine. Pick discounts for costs you regularly incur. If recruiting characters is a priority, consider Gifts Discount before some progression or convenience purchases.
When to change the order
Recruitment-focused play
Move Gifts Discount earlier if you are actively pursuing recruitment. It is a plausible alternative to the EXP-first default, rather than a mandatory purchase for every route.

Theodora’s route
The guide says Authority EXP is useful only on Theodora’s route, where battalions appear. For other routes, a roster-relevant proficiency or general progression purchase is a better fit.
Different challenge or spending habits
EXP upgrades accelerate growth, so players who value a slower progression curve may defer them. Conversely, a discount can be a more practical early buy if it applies to a system you use repeatedly. Compare the breadth of the benefit, whether it applies on your route, and how often you would otherwise pay that cost.

What the recommendation does—and doesn’t—establish
The 10%, 30% and 50% Increase EXP tiers and the 500-Karma-Shard first-tier cost are figures reported by AllThingsHow’s September 24, 2026 guide, not an independently tested ranking. That guide gives a purchase priority, but the available sources do not establish a controlled comparison showing one universal best order.
