Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf you want an Anker power bank with a cable already attached, the right choice depends on four things: your device connector, the output you need, whether you want a built-in wall plug or retractable lead, and how much weight you will carry. The four currently documented candidates are A1637, A1259, A1383 and A1638. They are not interchangeable: one has USB-C or Lightning variants, two use USB-C, and one uses a retractable USB-C cable.
The specifications below come from Anker product pages and regional listings retrieved on 13 October 2026. Prices, stock, regional availability and product-page specifications can change. No independent charging or durability testing was available, so performance claims are identified as manufacturer claims.

“10K” and “20K” are product labels, not proof that every regional listing has identical specifications. The A1383 entry is especially important: its 20K name conflicts with extracted text stating 10,000mAh, so confirm the capacity on the exact listing and market where you intend to buy.
What each model is designed to do
A1637: the travel-friendly option with a wall plug
A1637 combines a power bank, charging cable and foldable AC plug in one enclosure. That makes it the most useful candidate when you regularly move between a wall outlet and a battery-powered setup: unfold the plug to recharge the bank without carrying a separate charger, then use the attached lead away from the outlet. Its published size and weight are shown in the table, so you can compare its compactness with the larger A1383.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
There are two cable versions rather than one universal model. Choose the USB-C version for devices that accept USB-C charging, or the Lightning version for compatible Lightning devices. Buying the wrong variant defeats the main convenience of an attached cable; check the connector on your phone, tablet or other device before ordering.
Anker lists 30W two-way charging. “Two-way” indicates that the USB-C power path can send power to a device and accept power when the bank itself is being recharged. The figure should not be read as a guaranteed charging speed for every device, because the device, cable variant and charging protocol also determine the result.
A1259: a straightforward USB-C bank with extra ports
A1259 is the simplest fit when your devices already use USB-C and you want an attached lead plus conventional ports. In addition to the integrated USB-C cable, it has one USB-C port and one USB-A port, allowing you to connect devices that do not use the built-in lead.
The output figures need careful reading. Anker lists 30W maximum single-port output, but 24W maximum total output when more than one port is active. Therefore, 30W is not the combined power available to two or three connected devices. If you plan to charge several items at once, use the 24W total figure as the relevant limit and expect power to be shared.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
This model has no wall-plug feature listed in the supplied product information. You should plan to carry a separate charger or recharge it from another USB power source. Its dimensions and weight were not stated in the available listing, so do not assume it is smaller or lighter than A1637 simply because both carry a 10,000mAh label.
A1383: the high-output, higher-weight candidate
A1383 is presented on Anker Canada as a 20K, 87W power bank with a built-in USB-C cable. The listing says it can distribute up to 87W across three devices, which makes it the candidate aimed at users who need substantially more output than a basic phone bank and who may charge several USB-C devices together.
Its listed weight is 15.5 ounces (439 grams), a meaningful trade-off for a pocketable accessory. That weight can be reasonable in a laptop or multi-device bag, but it is less attractive if your only goal is emergency phone power.

A1638: retractable USB-C cable for a cleaner bag
A1638 is the only candidate described with a cable that retracts into the power bank. That design can reduce loose cable length in a pocket or bag and removes the need to wrap a detachable lead around the unit. It is therefore the natural option for people who value cable management more than a wall plug.
Anker reports that the retractable cable was tested for 20,000 bends and 20,000 pulls. This is a manufacturer-reported durability test, not an independent laboratory comparison, and it does not establish how the mechanism will perform in every environment. Avoid pulling the cable beyond its designed travel or storing the bank where the lead can be crushed.
The available result identifies 10K capacity and 45W output, but it does not provide a complete specification table. Current US availability was also not established. Verify the exact listing, supported charging protocols, ports, dimensions and regional warranty before relying on this model for a particular device.
Choose by connector first
The phrase “built-in cable” does not identify a standard connector. A1637 is offered in USB-C and Lightning versions; A1259, A1383 and A1638 are documented with USB-C cables. Start by checking the charging socket on the device you will connect most often.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- USB-C phone, tablet or accessory: A1259, A1383 and A1638 have USB-C leads; A1637 also works when you select its USB-C variant.
- Lightning device: the Lightning version of A1637 is the documented built-in option among these four.
- Mixed devices: A1259 adds USB-C and USB-A ports, while A1637’s attached cable is supplemented by its other charging interfaces. Check the current port layout before buying if you need to charge more than one connector type.
A cable connector is only the physical fit. Charging speed still depends on the bank’s output limits, the connected device and the protocol negotiated between them.
Understand output numbers before comparing models
Maximum wattage is not a universal speed rating. A single-port maximum applies when one output is being used under the conditions supported by the bank and device. A total-output rating applies to all active outputs combined.
| Specification wording | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| 30W two-way charging | A1637’s listed maximum for charging in either direction; it does not promise that every connected device accepts 30W. |
| 30W maximum single-port output | A1259 can reach this limit from one active port, subject to device and protocol compatibility. |
| 24W maximum total output | A1259’s combined ceiling when multiple outputs are in use; the 30W single-port figure does not apply simultaneously to every port. |
| Up to 87W across three devices | A1383’s listed distribution ceiling for three connected devices, with power divided according to the bank’s allocation and each device’s demand. |
| 45W output | A1638’s identified output figure; the available extract does not provide its full port-sharing table. |
If you normally charge one phone, the highest number is not automatically the best value. If you charge a laptop or several USB-C devices, output distribution and the bank’s full port table matter more than a headline wattage. Look for the exact single-port and multi-port limits in the current product page.

Capacity, size and portability trade-offs
Capacity tells you how much stored energy the manufacturer assigns to the bank, but it does not translate directly into a fixed number of phone charges. Conversion losses, the device’s battery size, charging temperature and the power bank’s operating limits affect usable energy. Use the published capacity to compare models in the same product family, not as a promise of a particular number of recharges.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
A1637 and A1259 are both listed at 10,000mAh, making their differentiators the wall plug, cable choice, port selection and physical design rather than the nominal capacity. A1638 is labeled 10K, but its complete specification set still needs confirmation. A1383 is marketed as 20K yet has conflicting extracted capacity text, so it should not be compared on capacity until the current regional listing resolves the discrepancy.
Weight matters when a bank lives in a pocket. A1637’s listed 0.55lb and A1383’s 15.5oz/439g provide two verified reference points; the other two models’ weights were not included in the available results. Do not infer missing measurements from the model name or from another regional page.
Safety and recall checks
Anker’s global voluntary recall notice names models A1647, A1681 and A1689 among affected power banks. A1681 is described elsewhere as a built-in USB-C-and-Lightning-cable alternative, and A1647 as a built-in-USB-C-cable model, but those descriptions are not a reason to recommend them.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsBefore buying any Anker power bank, check the current recall notice and use its exact model and serial-number instructions. The four candidates in this comparison—A1637, A1259, A1383 and A1638—did not appear in the recalled-model excerpt available for this article. That observation is not a blanket safety certification, so confirm the status of the specific unit you receive, especially when purchasing old stock or from a marketplace seller.
- Read the model number printed on the bank, not only the retailer title.
- Compare the serial number with Anker’s current recall checker or notice instructions.
- Do not use a unit identified as recalled; follow the manufacturer’s remedy process.
- Stop using a bank that is swollen, unusually hot, damaged or producing a burning smell, and follow local battery-disposal rules.
How to choose the right model
- Identify your connector. Decide whether your primary device needs USB-C or Lightning. If it needs Lightning, select the A1637 Lightning variant; if it uses USB-C, continue to the next step.
- Decide whether you need an integrated wall plug. Choose A1637 if charging directly from an AC outlet without a separate charger is central to your routine. The other documented models do not list that foldable plug.
- Set your output requirement. For ordinary single-device USB-C charging, compare the published limits of A1259, A1383 and A1638. For several devices or higher-power equipment, examine A1383’s distribution table rather than relying on its 87W headline.
- Choose your cable-management style. A1638’s retractable lead is the dedicated tidy-bag design. A1637, A1259 and A1383 use attached cables that remain outside the housing when in use.
- Check capacity and weight in the exact market. Confirm A1383’s disputed capacity and obtain current dimensions for models whose listings do not state them. Regional pages can differ.
- Run the recall check. Verify the exact model and serial number before putting the bank into regular service.
Availability and listing details to verify
The four entries are supported by official product information, but they are not a verified performance ranking. A1637 and A1259 have US product-page documentation in the available material. A1383 is documented on a Canadian page, and A1638’s result does not establish current US availability or a complete specification table.
Retail prices, inventory and promotional terms were not established, so they are intentionally omitted. If a retailer listing disagrees with an Anker page on capacity, output, cable type or included accessories, use the exact model number and ask the seller to confirm the unit’s regional specification before ordering.
Bottom line
Pick A1637 when the foldable wall plug or a Lightning cable is the deciding convenience. Pick A1259 for a conventional USB-C bank with an attached lead plus USB-C and USB-A ports, while remembering that its multi-port ceiling is lower than its single-port headline. Consider A1383 only after confirming the Canadian listing’s capacity discrepancy and accepting its 439-gram weight. Choose A1638 when a retractable USB-C cable is more useful than a wall plug, but verify its full specifications and availability first.
