Epson’s 2026 family page cites more than 75 years for color prints and more than 100 years for black-and-white prints, referencing Wilhelm Imaging Research testing of its latest EcoTank Photo Claria inks. The cited ratings come from accelerated testing on specified media with prints displayed indoors under glass; Epson says actual stability varies with media, image, light, humidity, atmosphere, and display conditions, and it does not guarantee print longevity.
Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550: wide-format and specialty-media flexibility
The ET-8550 is the format choice in this group for larger creative output: Epson describes borderless printing up to 13 by 19 inches and specialty-media support, including cardstock up to 1.3 mm thick. It shares the family’s six-color photo-ink approach. That extra format range is useful only if you will use it; someone printing occasional 4-by-6 snapshots may not need wide-format capability. Canon PIXMA MegaTank G3262: four-color tank system for mixed home printing
Canon’s G3262 uses refillable four-color GI-21 bottle ink and supports borderless photos from small square formats through letter size. Its listed features include a 100-sheet rear tray, mobile printing, flatbed scanning, and copying. Canon’s brochure estimates up to 6,000 black pages and 7,700 color pages per full replacement bottle set in default mode, or up to 8,300 black and 7,700 color pages in economy mode.
