The Samsung Q60D is a rare 32-inch TV option with 4K resolution and QLED, but it is not a high-refresh gaming screen: TechRadar says 120Hz support is unavailable among the 32-inch TVs in its reviewed category. If smooth, high-refresh PC gaming matters most, compare dedicated 32-inch gaming monitors instead. The right choice depends on whether you value a compact TV’s living-room features or a monitor’s speed and desktop-focused performance.
Is a 32-inch TV good for PC gaming?
It can work well for a compact setup, especially if you want a screen that also serves as a television. But “good for gaming” depends on the games and PC setup: resolution and text clarity matter at desktop distance, while refresh rate, variable refresh rate (VRR), response behavior, and input lag affect motion and responsiveness. RTINGS explains these gaming performance considerations in its VRR guide.

For ordinary TV use and a lower-cost small-screen option, TechRadar recommends the LG LQ6300 overall; it is a 1080p model. That may be adequate for video and casual play, but it offers less desktop detail than a 4K screen, particularly when you sit close to use the TV as a PC display. TechRadar’s category guide covers the 32-inch TV options.

Which 32-inch TV has 4K?
Samsung Q60D: the 4K/QLED choice
TechRadar lists the Samsung Q60D as a 32-inch 4K QLED TV, a relatively uncommon combination at this size. It describes the set as feature-rich for a small TV, but more expensive than other compact models. Its value therefore depends on the current price in your region and how much you want 4K resolution and QLED rather than a basic television.
#1 Best Overall
- Samsung’s 32” Odyssey G5 QHD Gaming Monitor delivers brilliant visuals for exhilarating gameplay that’s more immersive than ever before.
- QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) boasts incredibly detailed, pin-sharp images.
- With a wide 178° viewing angle, the IPS panel consistently delivers crisp, clear hues from various viewpoints.
- 180Hz Refresh Rate and 1ms response time (GtG) allow fast reactions for ultra-smooth gaming, plus G-Sync compatibility syncs the GPU and panel to reduce choppiness, screen lag, and image tearing.
- HDR10 provides brighter highlights and nuanced shadows for added depth.
Do not infer 120Hz gaming from its 4K label. TechRadar says 120Hz is not available on 32-inch TVs in the category it reviewed. The Q60D is relevant when 4K in a compact TV is the priority, not as a substitute for a high-refresh gaming display.
TV or gaming monitor: which should you choose?
| Priority | Better fit | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| TV functions and a compact screen with 4K/QLED | Samsung Q60D 32-inch TV | TechRadar identifies it as 4K QLED and relatively feature-rich, but pricier than other small sets. The reviewed 32-inch TV category does not offer 120Hz. |
| Basic TV use and lower-cost gaming | LG LQ6300 | TechRadar’s overall 32-inch recommendation is 1080p, so it is less detailed than 4K for close-up desktop use. |
| High-refresh PC gaming | Dedicated 32-inch gaming monitor | Monitors can offer much higher refresh rates. Confirm current availability and regional specifications before choosing a particular model. |
The distinction matters because manufacturers’ gaming-TV features often apply across a lineup, not to every size. Samsung advertises 4K at 240Hz, 165Hz, or 144Hz, along with ALLM and HDMI 2.1, for selected gaming TVs; those lineup-wide claims do not establish that a 32-inch model supports them. See Samsung’s gaming TV feature information. TCL’s gaming TV page likewise discusses features across its TV range, not proof of a matching 32-inch set.

What to check before buying for a PC
- Resolution and desktop clarity: A 4K screen can show finer detail than 1080p at the same size, which can help with text and close-range use. Consider how far you sit and whether your PC can render games at the resolution you want.
- Native refresh rate: Confirm the model’s actual refresh rate at the resolution and connection you plan to use. A 4K specification alone says nothing about whether a screen supports 120Hz or higher.
- VRR compatibility: Check whether both the display and graphics hardware support a compatible variable-refresh-rate mode. VRR lets the display track changing frame rates and can reduce tearing; support should be verified for the specific model and connection.
- Input lag and response behavior: These affect perceived control and motion clarity. Look for independent measurements for the exact model rather than assuming performance from a brand’s lineup claims. Q60D input-lag measurements are not established here.
- PC signal format: Verify the TV accepts the resolution, refresh rate, and chroma format your PC needs over the intended input. The Q60D’s specific PC chroma behavior is not established here.
- HDR and contrast: Compare how the exact model handles dark scenes and bright highlights; labels alone do not establish real-world picture performance.
- Fit and sound: Check stand dimensions, VESA compatibility, desk depth, and whether the built-in audio suits your setup.
- Local price and warranty: Prices, model suffixes, availability, and warranty terms can differ by region. Compare the exact regional model rather than assuming identical specifications everywhere.
