That is a directional planning hypothesis—not a verified ranking or promise of higher earnings. No dependable public data establishes India-specific CPM or RPM rates for continuous livestreams, and running a stream 24/7 does not itself guarantee a higher ad rate.
What “better ad rates” means
CPM and RPM measure different things. YouTube defines CPM as the advertiser’s cost per 1,000 ad impressions before YouTube’s revenue share. RPM is the creator’s revenue per 1,000 views after revenue share; it includes views that did not show ads and may also include YouTube Premium revenue, memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. A high CPM does not mean every view generates an ad or that the creator receives that amount per 1,000 views. Ad availability, advertiser suitability, viewer targeting and location, Premium viewing, and ad format all affect monetized playbacks and revenue. YouTube also notes that CPM can vary with season and the distribution of ad formats. Compare the same metric, audience geography, and time window rather than treating any one figure as a guaranteed rate.

How to compare niches using your own channel data
Once you have eligible streams and enough data to make a meaningful comparison, use YouTube Studio Analytics rather than applying a third-party rate estimate to your channel. Compare actual estimated ad revenue, ad impressions, and monetized playbacks; keep RPM separate because it includes more than ad revenue.
- Match the comparison. Use the same date range and compare streams with similar audience geography and language. A change in the share of Indian versus overseas viewers can change advertiser demand.
- Separate ad metrics from total revenue. Look at estimated ad revenue, ad impressions, and monetized playbacks for the ad question. Use RPM for a broader view of revenue per view, not as a substitute for CPM or ad-only earnings.
- Account for content and ad delivery. Compare streams with similar suitability for advertisers and note that different ad formats have different CPMs. An eligible view may still receive no ad.
- Use comparable periods. Advertiser bids shift over the year, so avoid comparing different seasons as though the niche were the only difference.
- Check monetization eligibility. Live-stream Watch Page ads and Premium revenue require YouTube Partner Program eligibility and acceptance of the Watch Page Monetization Module. Content remains subject to suitability and review. YouTube Partner Program overview and eligibility.
Does streaming 24/7 raise the ad rate?
YouTube’s documentation allows eligible partners to earn ad and Premium revenue from long-form and live Watch Page content, but it does not say that continuous availability guarantees more ads or a higher CPM or RPM. A 24/7 schedule may accumulate views and watch time; actual ad earnings still depend on eligibility, ad serving, audience geography, advertiser demand, and viewing behavior. Protect monetization with original content and rights
YouTube’s channel monetization policies apply to live streams. Monetized material should be original and authentic rather than mass-produced or repetitive. Reused material needs significant original commentary, modification, or added value to meet the reused-content policy. A continuous schedule built from repetitive loops, compilations, or minimally changed third-party material can put monetization eligibility at risk. YouTube also says that turning ads on does not mean ads will automatically appear, and content is reviewed against advertiser-friendly guidelines. Creators must have the necessary rights to visual and audio elements. Eligible creators may also earn from Premium viewing and fan-funding features such as memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers, subject to YouTube’s applicable eligibility rules and modules.
