Those choices are not interchangeable: official animation, official Warhammer TV battle reports, and independent battle reports are separate categories. First decide which kind of Warhammer video you want
“Warhammer videos” covers several different products. A cinematic animation made for Games Workshop is not the same thing as a studio battle report, and neither is the same as an independent creator filming a game on a tabletop. Identifying the category first prevents a common mistake: finding a free battle report and assuming it replaces an official animation catalogue.

These are animated series and films commissioned or presented by Games Workshop. The company positions new original animation and its official series library on Warhammer TV, included with Warhammer+. A creator’s battle report or a short promotional clip cannot be assumed to contain those shows.

Official Warhammer TV battle reports
These are Games Workshop’s own tabletop programmes. They are part of the same subscription destination as the animation catalogue, although individual public samples may appear elsewhere for a limited time.
Independent battle reports
Independent channels film and explain games using their own production style, rules coverage and editing. They can be excellent for learning how a game plays, but they are not an alternative source for the official animation library.

Where official animation is available
Warhammer TV through Warhammer+ remains the documented home for Games Workshop’s official animation catalogue. If a particular series is your priority, this is the route to check first rather than relying on search results that may point to clips, trailers or uploads whose rights are unclear.

Games Workshop’s September 30, 2026 announcement said that the first episode of the new Warhammer Age of Sigmar animation Arkanaut was scheduled for Warhammer TV on Friday, October 16, 2026, followed by episodes on October 23 and October 30. October 16 has now passed relative to this article’s October 17, 2026 date, while the latter two dates are still scheduled in the announcement’s timetable. A schedule announcement is not proof that an episode is available in every country or that the timetable has not changed, so confirm the current listing in Warhammer TV before planning a viewing session.

What “without Warhammer TV” can and cannot mean
If you mean “without paying for or signing into Warhammer TV,” the available evidence supports checking public official clips and independent battle reports, not claiming access to the complete animation catalogue. Games Workshop has not documented another service that mirrors the full official collection. Unofficial copies found through general video searches should not be treated as an authorised substitute.
How to find free official videos
The Warhammer Community video directory is the most useful public starting point. It is an official listing rather than a promise that every item remains playable without a subscription. Use the individual video page to determine whether the item plays publicly, redirects to Warhammer TV, or is only a trailer or excerpt.
Use dates, not old “free” lists
Games Workshop’s August 10, 2023 article said that more than 70 battle report episodes were on Warhammer+ at that time and offered a selection of shows free for two weeks, ending August 22, 2023. The article’s wording makes the duration explicit: the offer was promotional and temporary. It is useful evidence that samples have been opened to non-subscribers, but it does not establish that those episodes are still free in 2026.
What the official topic pages show
The Warhammer Community topic area advertises material about lore, battle reports and painting. Its page-level information does not provide a durable current episode total or regional subscription price. Treat it as a discovery index and verify access on the actual video or service page.

Independent battle reports on YouTube
For a free-to-watch tabletop game rather than an official animation, Play On Tabletop is a documented starting point. A Games Workshop Community feature dated March 29, 2024 highlighted the channel and described a 14,000-point Legions Imperialis battle report. That feature confirms the channel’s relationship to the cited battle-report content; it does not turn the channel into a Warhammer TV outlet.
What to expect from an independent channel
- Different game coverage: a channel may focus on one system, edition or scale, so check the title and description before assuming it covers your army or ruleset.
- Different presentation: creators choose their own camera work, commentary, game length and level of rules explanation.
- Changing catalogues: a video that is public today may later be made private, moved behind a membership or removed.
- No animation guarantee: independent battle-report channels should not be presented as sources for Games Workshop’s official animated series.
Search the creator’s own channel rather than relying on repost accounts. A channel page, episode description and upload date give you a better indication of what is currently available than a search snippet copied elsewhere.
Tabletop Tactics and app-based viewing
The Tabletop Tactics App Store listing describes Warhammer battle reports and weekly shows and notes that the app includes in-app purchases. That makes it a separate independent option for viewers who prefer a dedicated app or a scheduled show format.
The listing does not establish which episodes are free, what the current purchase prices are, or whether the same catalogue is available in every region. Do not advertise the service as fully free or quote a price without checking the live store page for your country. If an episode prompts for payment, that is an app purchase decision, not evidence that the official Warhammer TV animation catalogue is available there.

Choose a source by your actual priority
If animation is non-negotiable
Check Warhammer TV and Warhammer+ first. Use the official Games Workshop schedule and catalogue pages to confirm whether the series is released, whether your region is supported and what subscription terms apply. Public clips can help you sample a style, but they should not be mistaken for the complete series.
If you mainly want to watch games being played
Try Play On Tabletop’s YouTube catalogue, then compare its game system and format with your interests. If you prefer an app and recurring weekly programmes, inspect Tabletop Tactics’ current listing and purchase prompts. Both are independent sources, so their rules explanations and production choices may differ from Games Workshop’s official shows.
If zero cost is the deciding factor
Start with publicly playable items in the Warhammer Community directory and the creators’ own YouTube pages. Confirm that the play button works without an account or payment request. Do not use the expired August 2023 promotion as proof of current access, and do not count an unauthorised upload as a free legal option.
If you need a particular game system
Read the title, description and episode date before starting. The documented Play On Tabletop example is a 14,000-point Legions Imperialis game; that does not imply the same channel has equal coverage for every Warhammer system. App catalogues can also change, so filter by the exact game name where the platform allows it.
A practical check before you press play
- Identify the production type. Label the item official animation, official battle report or independent battle report.
- Open the original publisher or creator page. Use Warhammer Community or Warhammer TV for Games Workshop material, and the creator’s verified channel or app listing for independent material.
- Check the date and status. Look for a current release date, a playable public video, a subscription prompt or an in-app purchase notice.
