For a viewer in the UK who wants to stream rather than buy, BBC iPlayer is the most direct first stop. The current JustWatch UK page lists The Traitors: UK there as free to stream. Do not assume that every series has the same catch-up period. The listing used for this guide does not publish a single expiry rule for all episodes of The Traitors: UK. The UK listing names Apple TV Store and Amazon Video for digital downloads. A download purchase is not the same thing as watching through a free catch-up service or a subscription catalogue: you pay for a digital copy or rental under the store’s terms, then watch through the account and supported devices associated with that store.

Search each store for The Traitors: UK, select the correct season or episode, and inspect whether the offer is labelled purchase, rental or download before paying. That announcement is specifically dated and limited to seasons 1–3. It is not proof that every later season is on RTÉ Player, nor that the same catalogue is still present after the announcement. If you are looking for a newer season, verify it in the live RTÉ Player catalogue rather than assuming the June 2026 season list has expanded.

For another country, search the local versions of the major licensed services available there and look for an official programme page. If a catalogue aggregator reports a result, open the linked service and confirm that the episode actually plays after you select your country. Avoid assuming that a UK subscription, download or account automatically grants access while travelling; the services’ own geographic and account rules control access.
Streaming, catch-up and buying: what is the difference?
Free catch-up streaming
A free catch-up listing normally means you watch within the service’s current availability window rather than owning a copy. Episodes can disappear when rights expire, and the window may be shown separately on each episode page. BBC iPlayer is the current UK example in the listing used here.
Streaming through a service account
A service such as Sky Go may require an account or an eligible package, but the exact conditions for this programme were not stated in the listing. The practical test is the programme page after you sign in: it should tell you whether your account can play the episode or whether you need another package.
Digital purchase or download
A store purchase is a transaction tied to the store account and its playback rules. How to check availability just before you watch
- Set the correct country. Use the service site or app configured for the country where you will watch. Do not use a foreign catalogue as a proxy for your local rights.
- Search the exact title. Enter “The Traitors: UK” and check that the result is the UK programme, not a US edition, a celebrity spin-off or an unrelated clip.
- Open the season selector. Confirm that the season and episode you want are present. A series-level result does not guarantee that its entire run is available.
- Read the access label. Note whether the page says free, included with a subscription, requires an upgrade, or requires a purchase.

Availability windows and the Celebrity Traitors distinction
A BBC page for The Celebrity Traitors series 2, episode 1, lists a first shown date of 1 October 2026 and says that episode is available for over a year. That is evidence about that specific related programme and episode only. It does not establish that the standard UK series, every season, or every BBC iPlayer episode has an availability period of more than a year.
When you see a long availability window on a BBC page, check the title and series label carefully. “The Traitors UK” and “The Celebrity Traitors” are separate programme entries, even though they share a format and may appear in similar search results.
Troubleshooting when an episode will not play
The title appears, but there is no play button
Open the episode itself and inspect the access message. The episode may have expired, may be listed only as a purchase, or may require an account package that you do not have. Search the next service in the table rather than assuming the programme has disappeared everywhere.
The service says the programme is unavailable in your region
That normally indicates a rights difference between countries. Confirm that your account and app are set to the country where you are physically watching, then check an officially licensed local service. The UK and Ireland listings cannot establish rights for another territory.
You bought a download but cannot find it
Sign in with the store account used for the transaction, open its library or purchases area and search for the exact season or episode. If the item is missing, check the receipt and the store’s support page before buying again. A store listing can change independently of a broadcaster’s catch-up catalogue.
A search result shows the wrong programme
Use the country-specific service search and verify the title, series number and episode description. Similar names, international editions and the celebrity spin-off can be grouped together by search engines, so the programme label matters more than a generic thumbnail.
