Check the sign-up screen in your own storefront before paying, because prices, eligibility, promotions and available shows can change.

Where you can watch Apple TV+ sci-fi
Apple TV+ is delivered inside the Apple TV app rather than requiring a particular piece of Apple hardware. A subscriber can use the app on supported Apple devices, smart televisions, streaming devices, game consoles, Android mobile devices, Windows devices and selected cable boxes. A browser route is also available at tv.apple.com.

“Supported” means more than simply owning a device from one of those categories. App availability can vary by model, operating-system version and country. A television family may have different support on older and newer models; a game console may be supported in one region but not another. Before subscribing, confirm that your exact model can install or open the Apple TV app, or plan to watch in a browser on a computer.

Apple devices
Apple lists its own device ecosystem as a viewing route. That includes compatible iPhone, iPad, Mac and other Apple hardware on which the Apple TV app is available. Sign in with the Apple account that holds the subscription, then look for the Apple TV app and its Apple TV+ section. If the app is missing, check the device’s software updates and local App Store availability rather than assuming the subscription is at fault.
Smart TVs and streaming devices
Many smart televisions and standalone streaming devices can run the Apple TV app without an Apple TV 4K box. Open the television or device app store, search for “Apple TV,” and check that the listed app is published for your model and region. If the app cannot be installed, you can use another supported device or the browser version instead. Apple’s list is a compatibility guide, not a guarantee that every television made by a listed manufacturer is supported.
Game consoles
Apple includes game consoles among the supported categories. Use the console’s application store to search for the Apple TV app, install it if offered, and sign in. Console support can be model- and region-specific, so verify the exact console generation before choosing a subscription solely for console viewing.

Apple says Android phones and tablets and Windows devices are viewing options. On a supported Android device, look in the local app store for the Apple TV app. On Windows, use the available Apple TV app or a browser route, depending on what your system and region offer. A Windows computer with a modern browser is a practical fallback when a television app is unavailable.
Web viewing
At tv.apple.com, sign in with the Apple account used for the subscription and select the show you want to watch. Browser playback is useful when you are using a work or school computer, a temporary computer, or a television whose app store does not offer Apple TV. The site still requires an account with access to the relevant subscription and can present different titles by country.
What the Apple TV+ subscription does—and does not—include
The subscription gives access to Apple’s Apple TV+ catalog, including the service’s original series and films. It is not a universal pass to everything displayed in the Apple TV app. Apple states that the subscription does not include third-party subscription services or content offered separately for rental or purchase in the app.
This distinction matters when you search for a title. A result may appear in the Apple TV app as an item that requires another subscription, a rental, a purchase or a different provider. Look for the Apple TV+ subscription indication before assuming the title is included. If a title is unavailable in your country, changing devices will not necessarily make it appear; storefront licensing controls the catalog.
Series versus films
Apple’s sci-fi collection can contain both television series and films. Treat the category page as a current storefront view rather than a permanent worldwide catalog. A show listed in one country may not appear in another, and genre labels can change as Apple updates its pages.

Current US price, trial and regional differences
Apple’s US service page currently says: “A monthly subscription is just $12.99 per month after a free 7-day trial.” That figure is specific to the US storefront and the offer shown there at the time of writing. It is not a global price, and a trial is an offer with conditions rather than a permanent entitlement.
Readers outside the US should use the Apple TV sign-up screen associated with their own Apple account and billing country. Apple’s German storefront, for example, displays a euro-denominated price rather than the US dollar amount. Your local currency, taxes, introductory offer, renewal amount and eligibility can therefore differ. Read the checkout screen all the way through so you know what begins after the trial and when the recurring charge will be applied.
How to check the price that applies to you
- Open the Apple TV app on a supported device or go to tv.apple.com.
- Sign in with the Apple account you intend to use for viewing.
- Choose the subscription or trial prompt and confirm the country or region attached to the account.
- Record the displayed monthly price, currency, trial length, renewal date and any eligibility language before accepting.
- After subscribing, check the account’s subscription panel so you can see the current status and next billing date.
The displayed terms at checkout are the terms that should govern your decision. A promotion visible on a marketing page may not apply if the account has used a previous trial, belongs to a different country or is connected to a qualifying hardware purchase.
Alternative ways to receive Apple TV access
Paying for a standalone Apple TV+ subscription is not the only route Apple identifies. Apple says Apple One can include Apple TV access, and the Apple Music Student Plan can also include it for eligible students. Whether either route is cheaper depends on what you already pay for, your eligibility and the current terms in your country.
Apple One
Apple One bundles Apple services under one subscription. If you already pay for one or more services in the bundle, compare the bundle’s local price with the combined cost of the services you would otherwise keep separately. Do not assume every Apple One tier, country or account has the same inclusions. Open the plan details for your storefront and verify that Apple TV access is included in the tier you are considering.
Apple Music Student Plan
Apple identifies the Apple Music Student Plan as another route that includes Apple TV access. This route is relevant only if you meet Apple’s current student-eligibility requirements and can complete any verification Apple requests. Eligibility rules and pricing are local and can change, so confirm them during enrollment rather than relying on an old student price or a friend’s experience.
Apple TV 4K purchase offers
Apple mentions a three-month Apple TV service offer with an eligible new Apple TV 4K purchase. This is a conditional promotion, not a reason that everyone must buy the device. Check the hardware offer’s activation deadline, eligible purchaser language and post-offer price at checkout. If you already have a supported smart TV, console, phone or computer, buying an Apple TV 4K solely to watch sci-fi is optional.
How to choose the right subscription route
Use the following decision sequence before starting a trial or recurring plan. It keeps the choice tied to your actual viewing setup instead of to a headline price.

1. Confirm the shows you actually want
Write down the specific series or films you intend to watch, then search for each title in the Apple TV app while signed in to your local storefront. Apple’s sci-fi collection is a useful starting point, but the page is regional and can change. Confirm that the title is included with Apple TV+ rather than offered as a rental, purchase or third-party channel.
2. Check your existing subscriptions
Review whether you already have Apple One or qualify for the Apple Music Student Plan. If you do, compare the incremental cost of the route that includes Apple TV with a new standalone subscription. Include services you would genuinely keep; a bundle is not a saving if you would not use its other components.
3. Test your viewing device
Locate the Apple TV app on your television, streaming device, console, phone, tablet or computer before you pay. If the app is not available, test tv.apple.com in the browser you plan to use. This prevents a subscription from being tied to a screen that cannot play it.

4. Compare the offer with the post-trial price
Note the trial length and the recurring price shown for your account. A free trial has value only if you can watch the intended titles during it and understand what happens when it ends. Put the renewal date in your calendar if you are subscribing for a limited viewing period.
5. Decide whether Family Sharing helps
Apple says the subscription can be shared with up to five family members at no additional charge. If several people in your family want the catalog, that feature may change the per-person value. The cited Apple information does not establish a simultaneous-stream limit, so do not promise that a particular number of people can watch at the same time.
6. Read local terms before accepting
Check the country, currency, taxes, renewal amount, cancellation instructions and eligibility notices presented to your account. These details are more reliable for your purchase than a price displayed on a page for another region.

The presence of a title in a curated sci-fi page is not proof that it is available worldwide or indefinitely. Search from the account and country where you will watch, and distinguish a subscription-included title from other Apple TV app results.

Family Sharing: what Apple states
Apple’s US page says: “Apple TV lets you share your subscription with up to five family members for free.” That means a household or family group can evaluate the service as a shared subscription rather than assuming every viewer needs a separate plan.
The statement does not specify a simultaneous-playback allowance. Avoid using the family-sharing number as a promise that six people can stream at once, or that every member can use every device without account or regional restrictions. Set up Family Sharing through the Apple account controls and follow Apple’s current family-group requirements.

- Check whether you qualify for a current Apple TV 4K three-month offer before buying hardware for that reason.
- Decide whether sharing with up to five family members is useful for your household.
- Save the subscription confirmation and note where Apple shows your billing and renewal information.
Common problems and how to avoid them
The app is missing from your television
Check the television model, software version and local app store. If Apple TV is not offered, use a supported streaming device, console, phone, tablet, computer or the web. An unavailable app does not mean that an Apple TV+ subscription cannot be used; it means you need a different supported viewing route.
A title appears but asks for another payment
The Apple TV app can display third-party channels and rental or purchase items alongside Apple TV+ content. Read the item’s offer details and look for the Apple TV+ inclusion indication. Do not rent or buy a title accidentally when your goal is to use the subscription catalog.
The price is different from an article or advertisement
Prices and promotions are storefront- and account-specific. Compare the amount, currency and trial shown after signing in. A German euro price, for example, should not be converted and presented as though it were the US plan. Use your local checkout terms.
A trial or device promotion does not appear
Promotions can require a new eligible account, an eligible new Apple TV 4K purchase or activation within a specified period. Review the offer’s conditions and your account history. If the offer is absent at checkout, do not assume it will be applied later.
You cannot find a show available to someone elsewhere
Catalog licensing and genre pages vary by country and change over time. Search the title in your own storefront and verify the account’s region. Switching devices generally does not change the country catalog.
Bottom line for choosing Apple TV+
Start with the show list and the screen you already own. If your desired sci-fi titles are included locally and your device supports the Apple TV app—or you can use tv.apple.com—you do not need to buy an Apple streaming box. US subscribers can currently evaluate the service at the listed $12.99 monthly price after a seven-day trial; everyone else should rely on the local storefront. Check Apple One, the Apple Music Student Plan, Family Sharing and any qualifying Apple TV 4K offer before choosing a standalone subscription.
