In Dark Souls III, Greirat asks you to take the Blue Tearstone Ring to Loretta in the Undead Settlement—but Loretta is not there to receive it. Find Loretta’s Bone instead and return it to Greirat at Firelink Shrine. You keep the ring, and completing the errand earns the Curl Up Gesture after you reload the area.
What is the Blue Tearstone Ring’s destination?
The request is part of Greirat’s quest. After you free him from his cell on the High Wall of Lothric, he gives you the ring and asks you to deliver it to Loretta in the Undead Settlement. The request names Loretta as the intended recipient, but the quest does not involve handing the ring to a living NPC: Loretta is dead, and the item you need to find is Loretta’s Bone. A community walkthrough covers Greirat’s request and the quest outcome.

How to complete Greirat’s delivery request
- Free Greirat. Find him imprisoned on the High Wall of Lothric and use the Cell Key to release him. Speak with him and accept his request to deliver the ring. He then relocates to Firelink Shrine. Prima Games’ High Wall walkthrough describes finding Greirat and his move after the request.
- Search the Undead Settlement for Loretta’s Bone. It is found on a balcony before the Peasant Hollows gathered around a tree with an Estus Shard. You do not need to find Loretta herself.
- Return to Firelink Shrine and give the bone to Greirat. The quest is resolved by returning Loretta’s Bone, not by giving the ring away.
- Reload the area. After the area loads again, Greirat gives you the Curl Up Gesture. The Blue Tearstone Ring remains in your inventory. The Greirat quest reference lists the bone return, gesture reward, and ring retention.
What the ring does
The Blue Tearstone Ring temporarily improves damage absorption when your HP is low. Its description refers to a rare tearstone jewel and the tears of sorrow of the goddess Caitha. The cited sources do not establish a precise HP threshold or numerical absorption amount, so no exact value can be given here.
