These are different listening experiences, not interchangeable soundtrack editions.
Start with the original game scores
For a first listen, play the original soundtrack releases for Suikoden and then Suikoden II. That route follows the first two mainline games and lets you hear their scores in their original soundtrack releases before moving on to re-arrangements. A specialist catalog lists the first game’s soundtrack as KICA-7696/7 and the second game’s as KICA-7931/4; it also lists separate Suikoden II volumes. Suikoden music catalog.

To continue through the principal series, follow with the original soundtracks for Suikoden III, Suikoden IV, and Suikoden V. The catalog also includes albums for Suikogaiden, Suikoden: Tierkreis, and Rhapsodia; treat those as related-game branches rather than mainline installments.

Choose an arrangement if you want a different interpretation
Arrangement albums present the series’ music in a different style from the original game-score releases. The catalog lists several branches, but it does not establish a definitive listening order or quality ranking; the route below is a matter of taste.
#1 Best Overall
| Release or branch | What to expect | Good next step if you want… |
|---|---|---|
| Genso Suikoden II Music Collection ~Orrizonte~ | An arranged collection associated with Suikoden II. | A focused follow-up to the second game’s original soundtrack. |
| Celtic collections | Arrangements identified by a Celtic style. | A stylistic reworking rather than another original-score release. |
| Asian collections | Arrangements identified by an Asian style. | Another distinct arrangement direction. |
| Piano collections | Arrangements for piano. | A piano-centered version of the series’ music. |
| Vocal collections | Collections identified as vocal releases. | Music presented in a vocal format. |
| Music collections produced by Hiroyuki Namba or Kentaro Haneda | Separate catalog branches associated with these producers. | More arrangement material beyond the named style collections. |
Konami says its Suikoden I&II remaster soundtrack includes remastered arrangements from Orrizonte and the Arrange Collection series, alongside remaster music. That makes the set a possible way to hear some older arrangement material with the I&II remaster soundtrack; check the specific regional listing and edition before buying. Konami’s Japanese announcement.
Choose the orchestral release for a concert performance
Symphonic Poem from Suikoden is a separate concert release, not another original game soundtrack album. Konami describes its Blu-ray as recording a full-orchestra concert held in October 2022. The Blu-ray set includes a Suikoden II Animation Music Video; KONAMI animation also announced the special set. Konami’s release announcement and KONAMI animation’s announcement.

Konami described the special set as including the Blu-ray, a desk calendar, and a tote bag, with a March 6, 2025 release. This is the choice for a listener who specifically wants an orchestra performance and video rather than a conventional game-score CD. Present availability has not been verified.

Konami’s official pages describe different disc counts for the Suikoden I&II remaster OST. The Japanese corporate announcement identifies a nine-CD box, priced at ¥9,900 including tax, and scheduled for March 6, 2025. It also names a bonus CD, 幻想水滸伝 I&II オルゴールコレクション, and identified Konami Style as its Japanese reservation channel at announcement time. Japanese corporate announcement.
Konami’s English Suikoden portal currently labels the soundtrack “Suikoden I&II HD REMASTER OST [7 CD SET].” The available official descriptions do not explain whether the difference reflects territory, edition, or a page error. Do not assume the seven- and nine-CD listings describe the same package: identify the regional product listing and confirm its contents before purchasing. Konami’s English Suikoden portal.
The Japanese announcement says the Suikoden II section includes “戦争2” and “光のない戦場,” which were not on the older soundtrack CDs, as well as remastered arrangements from Orrizonte and the Arrange Collection series. This gives the remaster set a reason to interest listeners who already own older releases, but the exact package should still be checked against the edition listing.
