Recommended Free Tools
The right place to sell a website template or UI kit depends on what you built. Framer and Webflow are options for templates made for their own site-building platforms; ThemeForest covers code and CMS themes, but Envato says new-author intake is paused; UI8 is aimed at design assets and UI kits; and MUI Store is for React themes built with MUI.
These are five distinct routes, not a universal ranking. Their formats, review processes, seller terms, and current availability differ.

Choose a marketplace that fits your product
Start with the format and buyer workflow, not the largest advertised audience or a headline commission percentage. A platform-native project is different from a CMS theme, a Figma kit, or a React theme. The platforms below are the options whose seller documentation and terms are established here; they are not a claim to cover every possible sales channel.

Where to sell Framer templates
Framer’s Community marketplace is the direct route for a template built for Framer. Its guide says published templates go live immediately, without a review or waiting period, and creators keep 100% of paid-template sale revenue. The same guide permits selling templates through other marketplaces or platforms, so marketplace distribution need not be exclusive.
#1 Best Overall
- HTML CSS Design and Build Web Sites
- Comes with secure packaging
- It can be a gift option
Framer also describes affiliate income for free templates when users sign up for Framer through the template. Treat that as a platform-specific feature for free templates, not as an estimate of paid-template earnings.
Where to sell Webflow templates
Webflow’s marketplace suits projects made for Webflow, but it has a submission review. Webflow says the review typically takes 3–5 days. That is a stated typical interval, not a guaranteed approval deadline.
Rank #2
Webflow requires license information for custom assets such as fonts, images, and icons. Once approved, a template can also be sold on an external platform or the creator’s own site; Webflow’s guidance describes fulfillment links for delivering external purchases.
Is ThemeForest open to new sellers?
ThemeForest is relevant for HTML templates and themes for CMS products such as WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal. However, relevance does not mean a new seller can currently submit. Envato’s author guide, updated September 3, 2026, says applications and sign-ups for new authors are paused. It says reopening, if any, will be application-only for selected content types. Check Envato’s current author guide before planning around ThemeForest as an available intake route.
Rank #3
When UI8 makes sense for a UI kit
UI8 is a design-asset marketplace option for UI kits and related assets. It accepts author applications or invitations and says its review considers quality, polish, usability, and value. An application is not the same as guaranteed acceptance.
UI8’s author page states that authors earn 70% on individual purchases and 2% of product value for each unique download. It also states that automated PayPal payouts occur at month-end when the balance reaches at least $100. These are UI8’s stated terms; review its author page for current conditions before you apply.
Rank #4
When to apply to MUI Store
MUI Store is a focused route if you have a React theme built for MUI. MUI invites seller applications and states a 50% share for non-exclusive themes or 70% for exclusive themes. Those percentages describe different licensing choices, so compare them only after deciding whether you are willing to make a theme exclusive. The cited seller page does not establish broader terms such as payout timing or external-sales rules.
Check rights and terms before listing
Templates and kits often bundle assets made by someone else. Keep the product’s licenses and platform rules clear before submission or sale.
Quick Recap
- Document licenses for included fonts, images, icons, and other custom assets. Webflow explicitly requires licensing information for its template submissions.
- Confirm that each bundled asset may be redistributed in a commercial template; permission to use an asset in your own project does not necessarily establish permission to resell it as part of a product.
- Read the marketplace’s current seller, exclusivity, and payout terms. Published percentages do not by themselves show the full cost basis, payment-processing costs, or tax obligations.
- Plan to maintain compatibility with the target platform or framework. A platform-native template, CMS theme, UI kit, and MUI theme serve different buyers and require different product upkeep.
A practical route-selection checklist
- Identify the deliverable. Choose Framer or Webflow for a project native to that builder, ThemeForest for a code or CMS theme if new-author intake is available, UI8 for design assets and UI kits, or MUI Store for a React theme built with MUI.
- Check whether you can submit now. This matters especially for ThemeForest because Envato’s September 3, 2026 guide says new-author intake is paused.
- Prepare rights and product details. Gather license information for bundled assets, and ensure the listing accurately describes the product’s platform and requirements.
- Compare the actual terms. Review review requirements, exclusivity, payout thresholds and timing, and permitted distribution rather than treating different percentage figures as directly comparable.
- Choose your distribution plan. Framer explicitly permits external sales, and Webflow documents external selling for approved templates with fulfillment links. For other platforms, check the seller terms rather than assuming the same permission.
