Find Blood of Dawnwalker skill manuals by searching soldier and bandit camps, Witchcraft-related ruins and haunted sites, and by completing relevant quests or activities. You can also check teachers and vendors. A manual unlocks the option to learn a skill; it does not grant the skill automatically. Read it, then visit a usable Shrine and spend skill points and in-game time to learn the skill. Swordmastery and Witchcraft use manuals; Vampirism progression instead depends on Corruption gained by feeding on blood.
How skill manuals work
Manuals are prerequisites for skills in the Swordmastery and Witchcraft trees. Once you have and read a manual, the associated skill becomes available to purchase at a Shrine. You still need the required skill points, and learning the skill takes in-game time. The publisher describes skill points as shared across the trees, so spending points on one tree affects what you can spend on another. Bandai Namco’s progression-system overview explains these broad rules but does not provide an exhaustive list of every manual’s location.

Where to look, by skill tree

These are practical search routes, not a guarantee that every listed source will contain a manual in every playthrough. The publisher confirms the general source categories; third-party location catalogues add specific examples that may depend on quests, story progress or game state. A practical search route
- Pick the tree and skill first. Identify whether you are pursuing Swordmastery or Witchcraft; Vampirism does not use manuals.
- Search sources suited to that tree. For Swordmastery, start with soldier and bandit camps, then ask encountered fencers or teachers about what they offer. For Witchcraft, explore ruins and haunted places, inspect bookcases, and check related activities and magic practitioners.
- Follow quests and story leads. Manuals can be tied to activities or quest rewards. One guide-listed example is Charge, which may be obtained as a Prologue reward from Sacred Covenant, from a camp chest, or through a vendor source. Treat this as a guide-reported route, not a universal guarantee.
- Read the manual, then visit a Shrine. Reading makes the skill available; the Shrine is where you spend the skill points and accept the time cost to learn it.
- Keep an alternate source in mind. If a guide-listed vendor does not have the manual, move on to another indicated source or progress the relevant story or activity. Stock and timing can be game-state-sensitive.
What to expect from location guides
Bloodofdawnwalker.org provides a detailed catalogue with examples such as camp chests, teachers, vendors, activities and quests. PC Gamer’s Witchcraft guide gives a tree-specific route and reports Anca’s late-Prologue role. Use these guides to plan where to search, while allowing for story-dependent availability: the publisher’s overview confirms broad acquisition methods rather than a complete manual-by-manual inventory.
