If you have finished the main Solo Leveling manhwa, do not jump straight to Solo Leveling: Ragnarok unless you specifically want the sequel. The original comic has post-ending material: Tappytoon marks its English listing “Epilogue now available,” while Yen Press catalogs Vol. 14 and Vol. 15 as “Side Stories 1” and “Side Stories 2.” Read those first for the complete original-series aftermath.
After the side stories, continue with Solo Leveling: Ragnarok if you want a new story in the same universe. Yen Press describes it as the sequel and shifts the central role to Sung Sooho, Jinwoo’s son. In English, the sequel is available digitally through Tapas and in collected print and digital editions from Yen Press/Ize Press.

What “after the manhwa ends” actually means
Readers use “the manhwa ends” to describe two different stopping points. The first is the conclusion of the original main storyline. The second is the point at which every comic chapter connected to that original series has been read. Those are not the same.

The main ending is followed by an epilogue and two side-story volumes. They remain part of the original Solo Leveling comic rather than becoming Ragnarok. The sequel is a separate series with a different lead character and a new setup. Your preferred reading order therefore depends on whether you want more of Jinwoo’s original story or the next generation’s story.
#1 Best Overall
The recommended reading order
- Finish the original comic’s main ending. Use the licensed English Solo Leveling listing on Tappytoon. Its current listing explicitly carries the label “Epilogue now available.”
- Read the original epilogue. This is the immediate post-ending material for the original series, so it belongs before any sequel if you want the complete first story.
- Read the side stories. Yen Press lists the collected continuation as Solo Leveling Vol. 14, “Side Stories 1,” and Vol. 15, “Side Stories 2.” These are aftermath material within the original comic, not Ragnarok volumes.
- Start Solo Leveling: Ragnarok only after that, if you want the sequel. Yen Press describes Ragnarok as the sequel to the fantasy novel and comic. Its central character is Sooho Sung, Jinwoo’s son.
This order prevents the most common mistake: treating the sequel as if it were simply the next batch of Jinwoo chapters. The original epilogue and side stories complete the first comic; Ragnarok begins a different lead’s story.
Where to read the original epilogue and side stories in English
Tappytoon for the licensed digital comic
Tappytoon’s official English Solo Leveling page identifies the comic as licensed and states that the epilogue is available. If your goal is to continue directly from the original ending in digital form, this is the listing to check first.
Availability labels and access conditions can change by territory or over time. Confirm that the listing is available in your region and check how its episode-unlock system works before assuming that every episode is immediately readable without payment or waiting.
Yen Press and Ize Press for collected editions
Yen Press catalogs the original comic through Vol. 15. Its catalog specifically identifies Vol. 14 as “Side Stories 1” and Vol. 15 as “Side Stories 2.” Those volume labels are the clearest way to find the original series’ post-ending content in print or collected digital editions.
Do not interpret the higher volume numbers as Ragnarok. They are still part of the original Solo Leveling comic. Retail inventory, formats and regional editions can differ, so use the publisher’s current catalog and the bookseller listing for the edition you want.
Where to read Solo Leveling: Ragnarok in English
Tapas for digital episodes
Tapas lists the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok comic in English. Its latest retrieved notice says that Season 2 has ended and that the series is on hiatus before Season 3. The notice does not provide a return date.
That means Tapas is an English digital route, but it is not currently a continuously updating series. Before planning a binge or a weekly reading schedule, check the live Tapas listing for the current season label, episode access and any later announcement.

Yen Press/Ize Press for collected volumes
Yen Press lists English print and digital editions of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. Its Vol. 1 product page identifies the collected comic and lists Amazon among the purchase options. A collected volume can be the better choice if you prefer owning a complete book rather than unlocking individual digital episodes.
Rank #3
- It can be a gift option
- Easy to read text
- It comes in a secure Package
Publication and retailer stock are separate from Tapas’ episode schedule. A print or collected-digital volume may remain available even while the digital series is between seasons, but the exact inventory depends on region and date.
Original side stories or Ragnarok? Choose by story focus
| Route | What you read | Main focus | English format | Current status noted by the listings |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Original epilogue | Post-ending material on the licensed Solo Leveling listing | The original series’ aftermath | Digital episodes on Tappytoon | Tappytoon marks the epilogue available |
| Original side stories | Solo Leveling Vol. 14 and Vol. 15 | Continuation of the original comic | Collected print and digital editions from Yen Press/Ize Press | Cataloged as “Side Stories 1” and “Side Stories 2” |
| Solo Leveling: Ragnarok | The franchise sequel | Sooho Sung, Jinwoo’s son | Tapas episodes; Yen Press/Ize Press print and digital volumes | Tapas reports Season 2 ended before a Season 3 hiatus; no return date is stated |
Choose the first two rows if you want the original story’s aftermath. Choose the third if you are ready for a successor protagonist and a new opening situation. You can read all three routes in that order without skipping any identified post-ending comic material.
What changes when Ragnarok begins
Ragnarok is not labeled as another side-story collection. Yen Press calls it a sequel and introduces Sooho Sung as an apparently ordinary college student whose parents have disappeared. During a monster outbreak, he begins to awaken as a Player.
That setup signals a change in viewpoint and premise. Jinwoo’s story is the center of the original comic and its epilogue and side stories. Ragnarok instead asks what happens through Sooho’s experience. Readers should approach it as a new entry in the franchise, not as Vol. 16 of the original manhwa.
The change in lead does not make the side stories optional for readers who want the original conclusion. The side stories are the material Yen Press places after the main collected run; Ragnarok is the distinct sequel route that follows them.
How to find the correct edition
If you want to read immediately online
- Open the official English Solo Leveling listing on Tappytoon and verify that the epilogue label is visible.
- Read the epilogue and confirm that you have reached the end of the original listing’s available material.
- Search the Yen Press catalog for the original Vol. 14 and Vol. 15 side-story entries if you want the collected continuation.
- For the sequel, open Tapas’ English Solo Leveling: Ragnarok listing and check its current season and episode status before starting.
If you prefer books
- Look for the original comic’s Vol. 14 and Vol. 15, labeled “Side Stories 1” and “Side Stories 2.”
- Then look for Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, Vol. 1 from Yen Press/Ize Press.
- Verify whether you are buying print or digital and whether the edition is available in your country.
- Check the retailer’s current stock and release information rather than relying on an old listing.
If you are unsure which series a listing belongs to
- Original title: The listing says Solo Leveling and the side-story volume numbers are 14 and 15.
- Sequel title: The listing says Solo Leveling: Ragnarok and identifies Sooho as the central character.
- Publisher clue: Yen Press’ original catalog separates the side-story volumes from its Ragnarok entries.
Understanding the current Ragnarok hiatus
Tapas posted its status notice on January 31, 2026. The platform said: “Season 2 has come to a close and so we will be taking a hiatus before returning with season 3!” The notice is a platform update, not a promised date, schedule or prediction.
No return date is stated in that notice. If you are deciding whether to begin now, the practical consequence is simple: you can read the English episodes that Tapas has released, but you should expect the series to be paused until Tapas posts a further update. Do not treat an unofficial countdown or retailer estimate as confirmation of a Season 3 date.

Skipping the epilogue because the main ending feels complete
The Tappytoon listing explicitly marks an epilogue as available. Finishing the main ending does not necessarily mean you have read every original-series comic installment.
Calling Vol. 14 and Vol. 15 the sequel
Yen Press labels those books “Side Stories 1” and “Side Stories 2.” They belong to the original comic’s continuation and aftermath. Ragnarok is cataloged separately.
Expecting Jinwoo to remain the only viewpoint
Ragnarok centers on Sooho Sung. Start it with the expectation that the franchise is moving to a new protagonist rather than extending the original comic under an unchanged lead.
Assuming the hiatus has a known end date
Tapas’ January 31, 2026 notice says the series will return after the hiatus but does not state when. Check the live listing for a confirmed announcement.
Access, region and format caveats
Digital episode access, unlock rules, collected-edition stock and retailer availability can vary by country and can change after publication. The existence of an English listing does not guarantee that every episode, volume or format is sold in every territory.
For a digital-first route, use Tappytoon for the original listing and Tapas for Ragnarok. For collected reading, consult Yen Press/Ize Press’ catalog and then verify the retailer’s edition details. Compare the title, volume number, format and region before purchasing so that you do not accidentally buy a novel, an unrelated adaptation or a volume from the wrong series.
The shortest answer
Read the original Solo Leveling epilogue, then Vol. 14 and Vol. 15, the two side-story volumes cataloged by Yen Press. After that, read Solo Leveling: Ragnarok if you want the sequel centered on Sooho Sung. Tapas is the English digital source for Ragnarok, while Yen Press/Ize Press offers collected print and digital editions. Tapas currently reports that Season 2 has ended and the comic is on hiatus before Season 3, with no return date given.
