Which arcade versions are in the console collection?
M2 lists three regional arcade versions of the original game: Hishozame (Japan), Flying Shark (international), and Sky Shark (North America). The different names refer to regional releases, so the collection lets you choose among the arcade variants rather than buying three unrelated games. M2’s included-game list also identifies arcade variants of Fire Shark and includes Teki-Paki.

Why the physical and digital console editions differ
For collectors or players interested in the older console ports, the physical package is the more inclusive option listed by Clear River Games. Its game list includes Sky Shark for NES, Same! Same! Same! for Mega Drive, Fire Shark for Genesis, and Japanese, international, North American, and FDS versions of Wardner. Digital buyers can get those console versions and Wardner through a separate add-on instead. Check the exact regional product page if one particular port is essential, since bundle contents are edition-specific. Clear River Games, M2

Arcade Challenge lets you practice individual stages and bosses, select a difficulty and ship loadout, and rewind to retry a section after being hit. Other listed features include gameplay-information gadgets, worldwide leaderboards, downloadable leaderboard replays, screen-size settings, and screen rotation for a vertical TATE display. That listing specifies one-to-two players and Switch 2 compatibility. The US PlayStation listing specifies one-to-two players and optional online play; it says the PS4 game can be played on PS5, though some PS4 features may be unavailable. Which version should you choose?
- For arcade versions with M2’s practice and display tools: get the Switch or PS4 base collection, depending on the hardware you own.
- For a shelf copy and the listed console ports: look for the physical edition, checking local stock and package contents with the seller.
- If you already own the digital collection and want the extra console versions: compare the add-on’s contents and price in your regional storefront before buying.
- For PC: choose the standalone Steam edition. Its store page lists practice, rewind, assists, leaderboards, and display rotation; it is a distinct release from the console collection.
Platforms, compatibility, and changing prices
The current console collection is listed for Nintendo Switch and PS4. Nintendo’s US product page marks it compatible with Switch 2, while PlayStation’s US page says the PS4 version is playable on PS5 with possible feature limitations. Steam lists its separate edition for Windows, macOS, and SteamOS/Linux. Store prices and physical stock can change by region and date, so the cited US prices should not be treated as universal or guaranteed current prices. Nintendo, PlayStation Store, Steam
