Moonflower Coffee is listed by Bitcoin Cities as a Denver cafe accepting Bitcoin and Lightning payments. The listing places it at 4200 West Colfax Avenue, but Moonflower’s own website does not mention Bitcoin, so confirm payment availability with the shop before you go. Bitcoin Cities’ Colorado directory showed 293 listed businesses in 82 cities when checked on October 13, 2026; 279 were marked as accepting Lightning. The often-repeated “300+” figure is not verified by that current snapshot.
Does Moonflower Coffee accept Bitcoin?
Bitcoin Cities lists Moonflower Coffee as a cafe with LN/BTC payment labels. Its entry includes a Lightning payment check-in marked “Verified via OSM.” That is evidence from a community-maintained directory, not a confirmation published by Moonflower itself.

Moonflower’s official pages describe the business as a specialty coffee shop in Denver’s West Colfax neighborhood and provide the address 4200 West Colfax Avenue. Those pages discuss its menu and story but do not state that Bitcoin is accepted. Because payment policies and wallet setups can change, ask the shop whether it currently supports Lightning, on-chain Bitcoin, or both before ordering.
What Moonflower sells
The cafe’s official information highlights coffee, matcha, pastries, burritos and housemade syrups. It says the business sources beans from Servant Coffee in Denver, ceremonial-grade matcha from Spirit Tea, pastries from Black Box Bakery in Edgewater and burritos from Onefold. The Visit page promotes a matcha latte and an award-winning Ube Latte, and says dogs are welcome on the patio.

Bitcoin Cities says listings come from OpenStreetMap and can be added with the payment:bitcoin=yes tag. OpenStreetMap is community maintained, and Bitcoin Cities cautions that listing data may be inaccurate. A tag can therefore remain after a business stops accepting Bitcoin, or appear before staff are ready to process a payment.
What the Denver listing does—and does not—prove
The Denver directory page shows a Bitcoin-accepting-business entry for Moonflower and a Lightning check-in. However, the page contains conflicting business totals in different sections—33, 24 and 55—and warns that its data may be inaccurate. Those discrepancies make the local total unsuitable as a clean statistic. Do not add city figures together to estimate a statewide count.

The useful takeaway is narrower: Moonflower appears in a directory that records Bitcoin and Lightning acceptance, while the shop’s own pages do not independently confirm it. Treat the listing as a lead to verify, not as a promise that a payment will succeed.
How to verify payment before visiting
- Contact Moonflower directly. Use the email or text number shown on its official Contact page.
- Ask which Bitcoin method works. Confirm whether the cafe accepts Lightning invoices, on-chain transactions, or both.
- Ask when the payment option is available. Some merchants enable a wallet only during certain shifts or require staff assistance.
- Confirm current opening hours. Hours can change, even when a directory listing remains unchanged.
- Carry a backup payment method. A directory check-in does not guarantee connectivity, a charged point-of-sale device or a current wallet balance.
Finding other Bitcoin merchants in Colorado
Use the Colorado directory as a starting list, then filter your search by city and business type. When comparing entries, look for the stated method—on-chain or Lightning—the date or source of any verification, and whether a recent payment check-in exists.

- City: Choose the town you will actually visit rather than relying on a statewide total.
- Payment method: Lightning is usually a separate capability from an on-chain address; ask which one the merchant supports.
- Verification recency: A recent check-in is more useful than an undated label, but it still is not a guarantee.
- Business status: Confirm that the location is open and that its payment policy has not changed.
For a trip planned around Bitcoin, contact each business on the day of travel. This is especially important for small cafes and independent retailers whose payment equipment or staffing can change without an immediate directory update.

The phrase “300+ Colorado Bitcoin merchants” should be treated as an unattributed or differently dated claim unless its publisher identifies the source and date. The current Bitcoin Cities figure is 293, not more than 300. That difference may result from another directory, a prior or later data refresh, or a different counting method, but the reviewed information does not establish which explanation is correct.

A precise, supportable description is: Bitcoin Cities listed 293 Colorado businesses across 82 cities, including 279 marked for Lightning, on October 13, 2026. Readers should still verify a merchant directly before relying on Bitcoin for a purchase.
The Bottom Line
Moonflower Coffee is a promising Denver lead for Bitcoin users, but its acceptance is confirmed only by a Bitcoin Cities listing—not by Moonflower’s official website. Verify the payment method and hours directly. Statewide, Bitcoin Cities listed 293 Colorado businesses (279 with Lightning) on October 13, 2026; the “300+” figure remains unverified.
