There are three named Torrent attires covered in the current Tarnished Edition guides. Tree Sentinel is in a chest in Stormveil Castle’s throne-room area, Carian Silver is in a chest in the main room of Ranni’s Rise in northern Liurnia, and Funereal Night is a ground pickup beside a small sword at the Altus Plateau sword memorial. After collecting any attire, rest at a Site of Grace and select the spectral-steed appearance option to equip it.
All three Torrent skins at a glance
The items are cosmetic appearance options for Torrent. Their pickup formats and progression requirements differ, so the fastest route depends on how far your character has advanced.

NerdsChalk’s Aug. 31, 2026 guide identifies these three named attires. The guides reviewed for the locations agree on the landmarks and pickup types, while descriptions of the exact approach to Funereal Night vary slightly.
What these attires change—and what has not been established
These are presented as Torrent appearance choices rather than new weapons, armor for the Tarnished, or a separate mount with its own inventory. Once an attire is collected, it becomes selectable from the spectral-steed appearance menu at a Site of Grace. The reviewed location guides do not establish stat-by-stat changes to Torrent’s health, speed, stamina, damage, jump, or handling. Treat the items as visual customization unless an in-game description or a later official patch note says otherwise.

- Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the ELDEN RING mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration. The team is working hard to ensure that the world of ELDEN RING will be a fascinating place for players to explore, filled with peril and wonder from its furthest reaches to its lowest depths. This is a FromSoftware title through and through, rich in fantasy and RPG action. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.
- Building the world of ELDEN RING with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat! The graphics, mythos, and action-RPG gameplay will deliver an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait for people to see what ELDEN RING has in store for them.” Said George R.R. Martin.
The locations are associated with new content discussed for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, which Nintendo Life identifies as a Switch 2 release. The location information below tells you where the pickups are found; it does not establish current retailer stock, regional bundle contents, pricing, or whether every platform edition includes them.
Tree Sentinel: Stormveil Castle throne-room chest
Where the chest is
Tree Sentinel is inside a chest in Stormveil Castle’s throne-room area, beyond the arena used for the Godrick the Grafted encounter. It is not the mounted Tree Sentinel enemy found elsewhere in the Lands Between, and the attire is not obtained by defeating that field boss.
Practical route from the castle
- Reach the Godrick the Grafted Site of Grace after the arena section.
- From that grace, proceed toward the throne-room area rather than returning through the main boss approach.
- In the approach described by Nintendo Life, take a right and then a left to enter the relevant room.
- PC Gamer describes the chest as being through the right-hand doorway behind the throne. Use the throne and the doorway as your visual checks if the first turn is unclear.
- Open the chest and collect the Tree Sentinel attire.
The room descriptions are more reliable than trying to follow a compass heading: Stormveil’s interior has multiple branching passages, and the guides frame the destination relative to the throne and Godrick’s arena.
If you cannot reach the throne room
The item is placed after the Godrick arena section, so an early-castle route will not lead to it. Confirm that you are starting from the Godrick the Grafted grace or the connected post-arena area. If you are still navigating the approach to the boss, continue your normal Stormveil progression before searching for the chest.
Carian Silver: Ranni’s Rise in northern Liurnia
Chest location
Carian Silver is in a chest in the main room of Ranni’s Rise, in northern Liurnia of the Lakes. The chest is next to the Site of Grace inside the tower, making this the most straightforward pickup once the tower is available.
Rank #3
- Elden Ring: Nightreign - Seekers Edition /PS5
Required progression
Ranni’s Rise is not simply an open-field detour for a new character. PC Gamer notes that reaching the tower requires clearing Caria Manor and defeating Royal Knight Loretta. Those are the practical access gates to plan around before making the trip.
- Complete the route through Caria Manor.
- Defeat Royal Knight Loretta to open the area beyond the manor.
- Travel through northern Liurnia to Ranni’s Rise.
- Enter the tower and locate the Site of Grace in the main room.
- Open the nearby chest to receive Carian Silver.
Because the chest is beside the grace, you do not need to search the upper levels or surrounding towers once you are in the correct room. If the tower appears inaccessible, check that Caria Manor and Loretta’s encounter are complete rather than looking for a hidden entrance.

Use the memorial and small sword as your markers
Funereal Night is the only one of the three that is not in a chest. It is a ground pickup beside a small sword at a sword memorial on the Altus Plateau. The memorial is near the Hermit Merchant’s Shack and the Outer Wall Battleground area.
How to search the area
- Reach the Altus Plateau and travel toward the sword memorial landmark.
- Use the Hermit Merchant’s Shack and the Outer Wall Battleground area to orient yourself.
- Look for the memorial’s small sword rather than searching every nearby body or ruin.
- Collect the ground item beside the sword; this pickup is Funereal Night.
The reviewed guides use different nearby Site of Grace references and describe the approach in slightly different ways. For that reason, follow the memorial and sword as the final navigation cues instead of relying on one exact bearing from a particular grace. If you arrive at a chest or a large equipment pile, you are at the wrong landmark: Funereal Night is visibly a ground item beside the small sword.
Equip a collected attire at a Site of Grace
Collection and equipping are separate steps. Picking up the item does not automatically change Torrent’s look.
- After collecting the attire, interact with any Site of Grace.
- Choose the spectral-steed appearance option in the grace menu.
- Select the unlocked attire—Tree Sentinel, Carian Silver, or Funereal Night.
- Confirm the selection and leave the menu. Summon Torrent normally to see the new appearance.
The same menu is used after each pickup, so you can collect the skins in any order and change between unlocked choices later. If the appearance option does not show immediately, rest at a Site of Grace after the pickup and reopen its menu; that refresh is the documented transition from collection to customization.

Which skin should you pursue first?
There is no gameplay-performance reason established in the reviewed guides to rank one above another. Choose by travel convenience and story progress.
| If you are at this stage | Best target | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Finishing Stormveil or just beyond Godrick | Tree Sentinel | The chest is in the post-arena throne-room area, so it fits naturally into Stormveil cleanup. |
| Working through Caria Manor and the Ranni area | Carian Silver | It is next to the Ranni’s Rise grace once Loretta’s access gate is cleared. |
| Already traveling across Altus Plateau | Funereal Night | The item is a short landmark search at the sword memorial near established Altus points of reference. |
| Looking for the least ambiguous final pickup | Carian Silver | The chest sits beside a Site of Grace in the tower’s main room. |
Travel order is optional. None of the three locations needs to be visited before the others, and the guides do not describe a required collection sequence.

Searching for Tree Sentinel on the field
The name refers to the attire, not a required field-boss drop. Go to Stormveil Castle’s throne-room area beyond Godrick’s arena and open the chest there.
Looking for Carian Silver outside the tower
Once Ranni’s Rise is accessible, enter the tower and check the main room beside its Site of Grace. The item is not described as a rooftop, courtyard, or manor chest.

Expecting a chest at the Altus memorial
Funereal Night is a ground pickup. Search around the small sword at the memorial and use the Hermit Merchant’s Shack or Outer Wall Battleground area to confirm you are in the right part of Altus Plateau.
Assuming a pickup changed Torrent automatically
Open a Site of Grace and use the spectral-steed appearance menu. The attire must be selected there before Torrent displays it.
Following an exact grace-to-grace bearing for Funereal Night
Nearby-route descriptions differ among the guides. Stop treating a single compass instruction as a test of whether the item exists; orient by the memorial, the small sword, and the nearby shack and battleground landmarks.
Quick collection checklist
- Tree Sentinel: Stormveil Castle, throne-room area beyond Godrick’s arena, chest.
- Carian Silver: Ranni’s Rise in northern Liurnia, main room beside the grace, chest.
- Funereal Night: Altus Plateau sword memorial near Hermit Merchant’s Shack and Outer Wall Battleground, ground pickup beside a small sword.
- Equip: Rest at a Site of Grace, open the spectral-steed appearance option, and select the attire.
- Expectations: The available guides establish appearance customization, not specific combat or movement-stat changes.
With those landmarks, pickup types, and access gates, you can route all three Torrent skins without confusing an attire location with a similarly named enemy or an unrelated chest.
