VIZIO HDMI ports may be on the side of the TV, on the rear connection panel, or split between both locations. The layout and port count vary by model, so check the label on your TV and use its matching VIZIO manual to find the exact sockets.
Why HDMI port locations vary
There is no single HDMI layout shared by all VIZIO TVs. Some models group HDMI inputs along the side; others place them on the rear panel or use both areas. VIZIO cautions in its E-series XUM manual that the number and locations of ports may vary by model, and that illustrations may change.

For example, VIZIO lists two side HDMI inputs for the VHQ24M-1007 and three side HDMI inputs for the V585M-K01. The V4K55C-0801 also lists three side HDMI inputs. These examples apply only to those model numbers, not to every TV in a similarly named series.

How to find the ports on your specific TV
- Find the full model number. Check the label on the back of the TV or the original product documentation. Use the complete model number; screen size or series name alone is not enough to identify the port layout.
- Open the matching VIZIO manual. Search the model number on VIZIO’s official website and open its user guide. Look for a rear-panel or connection diagram rather than relying on a picture from another model.
- Inspect both the side and the lower rear panel. Look along the TV’s side edge and at the recessed connector strip on the back. Some manuals show HDMI connections in both areas: a D-series diagram, for example, shows HDMI 1 (ARC) and HDMI 2 on the rear panel as well as a side input area.
- Match the printed label. Look for “HDMI” beside each socket, and note any port number or additional label such as “ARC.” Don’t identify a connector by its position alone.
- If the TV is wall-mounted, avoid pulling it away from the wall just to look. Use the model diagram or a phone camera to inspect an accessible gap. If you cannot read the labels, contact VIZIO support with the full model number.
How to tell HDMI apart from nearby connectors
Connection panels may group several types of input together. Use the label and the manual’s diagram to distinguish HDMI from USB, coaxial or antenna, Ethernet, optical audio, component, and composite connections. The VIZIO manual’s connection illustrations show these ports as separate connectors; don’t assume that every socket on the panel is HDMI.

Which HDMI port is ARC?
ARC is indicated by the label or diagram for the particular TV; it is not safe to assume a fixed HDMI number. In the D32hf1 diagram, HDMI 1 is marked ARC, but that is specific to that model. VIZIO’s soundbar quick-start guide says the HDMI ARC location can differ by TV and directs users to the TV manual: VIZIO SB3851-C0 Quick Start Guide.
For a soundbar connection, check both the TV and soundbar manuals for the ARC or eARC directions and the correct connection labels. A model-specific product page may also clarify whether ARC is listed: VIZIO’s V4K55C-0801 page says “ARC: No,” despite listing three side HDMI inputs.
