On a Samsung Galaxy S21, open a text field to bring up Samsung Keyboard, then tap Clipboard on the keyboard toolbar. If you do not see it, open the toolbar’s more-options menu and choose Clipboard. Copy something first if the list is empty.

Look for Clipboard on the toolbar. If it is not visible, tap the toolbar’s more-options control, often shown as three dots, and select Clipboard.

Tap a saved entry to paste it into the active field.
Samsung’s instructions and screen labels can differ by device and One UI version, so the exact toolbar layout may not match these steps on every S21.
Copy something before looking for it
In the source app, press and hold the text you want, adjust the selection handles if needed, and tap Copy. For content with its own copy command, use that instead. Return to a text field, open Clipboard, and tap the entry you want to paste.

Keep an item you want to retain
Open Clipboard and look for the pin control beside the entry. Samsung documents pinning selected text or screenshots so pinned content is retained rather than removed during ordinary clipboard cleanup. The control’s appearance and location may vary by software version.
Why Clipboard may be missing
Check which keyboard is active
Samsung cautions that third-party keyboards may not support access to Samsung’s clipboard feature on Android 12 and later. If you are using another keyboard, switch to Samsung Keyboard and check its toolbar again.
Expand the keyboard toolbar
Clipboard may be among the tools hidden behind the toolbar’s more-options control. Open a text field first, then expand the toolbar and look for Clipboard.
Check the software version if labels differ
Samsung notes that menus and steps can vary with the device and One UI version. Look for the equivalent toolbar or options control rather than assuming every Galaxy S21 shows identical labels.

Clipboard limits depend on software version
Samsung’s published figures are version-specific, not a single verified capacity for every current Galaxy S21. Samsung Service Korea’s article dated June 11, 2025, gives these total clipboard-content counts:

| One UI 2.1 / Android 10 or earlier | 20 items |
These figures describe the versions named by Samsung Service Korea; they should not be treated as a universal current S21 limit. Samsung Japan’s support page, updated September 17, 2026, separately says that up to 20 pinned items can be retained and notes a lower maximum for Android 10 and earlier.
Copy and paste between Galaxy devices
Using clipboard history on the S21 is different from sharing copied content with another Galaxy device. Samsung US Support says cross-device clipboard sharing requires One UI 3.1 or later, the same Samsung account signed in on both devices, and both devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If sharing does not work, check those requirements on each device.

Clipboard is not established as an Edge Panel option on every Galaxy S21 software configuration. Use the keyboard toolbar as the standard route; if your own Edge Panels settings show a Clipboard panel, you can use that configuration too.
