Choose between buying and scavenging
Sheet Metal has two practical acquisition methods. Celeste’s stock gives you a known exchange cost, while scavenging uses no Assorted Seeds but consumes raid time and can produce different loot instead. No published source provides a controlled drop-rate study or a measured time-to-loot comparison, so no route can be called objectively fastest for every player.

The exchange rate
Celeste sells one Sheet Metal for three Assorted Seeds. The price is stated by PC Gamer’s guide published October 9, 2026; it should be treated as the current listed rate rather than a permanent promise if a later patch changes vendor inventories or prices.

When buying is the sensible option
- You need one or two pieces to finish an Outpost task.
- Your current raid route does not pass through Stella Montis, Pendola Pass or Riven Tides.
- You have Assorted Seeds available but do not want to spend several raids checking variable containers.
Simple purchase procedure
- Return to Speranza and locate Celeste.
- Open her material inventory and select Sheet Metal.
- Confirm the exchange at three Assorted Seeds for each piece you buy.
- Check your inventory before leaving so you know whether the amount now covers your project.
The vendor option is predictable in quantity, but it is not free: every piece consumes three Assorted Seeds that could be reserved for another use.
Scavenge Stella Montis first
PC Gamer identifies technological and industrial areas in Stella Montis as strong places to search, specifically Assembly and Loading Bay. These are the clearest starting points in the available location guidance.
Assembly
Search the Assembly interior, with special attention to yellow drawer containers. PC Gamer’s Sean Martin wrote that “every yellow drawer container … seems to be a guaranteed drop for sheet metal.” The wording matters: “seems to be” describes an observed guide result, not a developer-published probability or a controlled test. Treat yellow drawers as the best lead in Assembly, not as an unconditional guarantee for every raid or every game version.

Loading Bay is the second Stella Montis location named by PC Gamer. Work through industrial storage and exposed loot rather than checking only one container. The guide establishes the area as worth searching, but it does not publish a drop rate for individual drawers, crates or surfaces.
A practical Stella Montis search pattern
- Enter the map with enough free inventory space to keep materials you find.
- Make Assembly your first stop and inspect each yellow drawer container you can safely reach.
- Check nearby shelves, tables and other exposed surfaces before moving on; loose loot can appear outside containers.
- Continue to Loading Bay and search its industrial containers and visible work areas.
- If the required quantity does not appear, treat the run as an ordinary variable loot result rather than repeatedly opening one container expecting a fixed roll.
Search Pendola Pass locations
AllThingsHow lists three Pendola Pass areas as additional candidate locations. Its recommendations describe possible loot spots, not a guaranteed route or a Sheet Metal chance for each object.
Commissary Supermarket
The Commissary Supermarket offers a dense group of potential checks. Search shelves first, then inspect nearby containers and other accessible surfaces. Because each location can roll different items, clear the building methodically instead of assuming the first empty shelf means the area cannot produce Sheet Metal.
Old Town
In Old Town, examine surfaces such as shelves, tables and sofas. These are the kinds of exposed positions where AllThingsHow reports that Sheet Metal can appear as loose loot. The area is a candidate search zone, not a guaranteed spawn.

Almatera Station and the Northern Tracks
Search train interiors at Almatera Station and along the Northern Tracks. Seats and tables receive specific mention in the guide, so include passenger compartments and other interior surfaces rather than checking only exterior containers. As with the supermarket and Old Town, the recommendation identifies places to look; it does not establish that every train or seat contains Sheet Metal.
Pendola Pass route order
- Start at the Commissary Supermarket and sweep shelves and adjacent containers.
- Move through Old Town, checking shelves, tables and sofas as you pass them.
- Finish at Almatera Station and the Northern Tracks, searching train seats and tables.
- Stop once the material requirement is met or the remaining search would expose you to more risk than the material is worth.
This order is a practical way to cover the named areas in one pass; the available guides do not measure its completion time or success rate.
Use a container-focused route on Riven Tides
AllThingsHow also recommends several Riven Tides locations: the Port Authority Building, Stacking Yard and Railyard. The route emphasizes offices, cabinets, crane-control surfaces and open rail containers.

Port Authority Building
Check the Dockmaster’s Office first. Search its accessible furniture and containers rather than looking only at the room entrance. The office is a reported opportunity, and a visit can still produce other loot.
Stacking Yard
Inspect the green cabinets in the Stacking Yard. Include nearby surfaces and containers that are part of the same industrial area, but do not assume every green cabinet will roll Sheet Metal on every raid.
Railyard
Search crane control rooms for surface loot, then inspect open containers on flatbed railcars. These locations are specifically called out by the guide because they provide several industrial checks in a compact area. Drops remain variable.
Riven Tides checklist
- Enter the Port Authority Building and search the Dockmaster’s Office.
- At the Stacking Yard, open the green cabinets and check surrounding industrial surfaces.
- Move to crane control rooms and inspect desks, shelves and other exposed loot positions.
- Search open containers on flatbed railcars in the Railyard.
- Leave when your inventory is full or your required quantity is secured; the route has no published guaranteed yield.
Understand what can and cannot be guaranteed
Sheet Metal may appear as loose loot on shelves, tables, desks, seats and similar surfaces, as well as in some industrial containers. That means a thorough sweep matters: checking only one container type can miss a valid spawn position.
- A named building is a search recommendation, not proof that Sheet Metal is present in every raid.
- A drawer, shelf, seat or container can roll a different item.
- The yellow-drawer observation in Assembly is qualified as “seems to be a guaranteed drop,” and no measured drop percentage accompanies it.
- No source currently supplies a controlled success rate for Assembly, Pendola Pass or Riven Tides routes.
Because exact rates are not established, keep route decisions based on your objective. If you need a known number immediately, spend seeds with Celeste. If you are already collecting general materials, inspect the named areas while progressing through the raid.

What Sheet Metal is used for
The ARC Raiders Wiki classifies Sheet Metal as a common Basic Material used for Outpost furniture. The community-maintained item reference lists a stage-two Outpost project requiring:

If you need one to three pieces
Calculate the seed cost first: one piece costs three Assorted Seeds, so a small shortage may be cheaper in time and risk to cover at Celeste. This is especially useful when your next raid objective is elsewhere and you would need a detour solely to search for materials.
If you need five pieces for the listed stage-two project
Five pieces would require 15 Assorted Seeds at Celeste’s listed rate. Compare that known resource cost with the opportunity cost of a scavenging run. Since no source measures route success or time, choose according to your seed supply, map access and tolerance for a variable result rather than a claimed universal best route.
If you are gathering broadly
Prioritize industrial and technological spaces during normal raids. Search exposed surfaces as well as eligible containers, and keep the named locations in mind when the route naturally passes through them. This approach avoids spending seeds while still giving you repeated chances to find the material.

Troubleshoot a run that produces no Sheet Metal
You checked one container and found nothing
Continue through the area. The guidance covers groups of loot spots, not a single guaranteed box, and Sheet Metal can appear on surfaces as well as inside containers.
Assembly did not produce the expected item
Recheck other yellow drawers and sweep the rest of Assembly before concluding the area failed. The published observation uses qualified language and does not provide a formal guarantee or drop table.
You searched a recommended map and still came away empty
That result is compatible with variable loot. Move to another named area on a later raid, or use Celeste if the material is needed immediately. Do not treat a guide’s list of possible spots as evidence that every raid must contain a fixed quantity.
Your Outpost menu shows a different requirement
Follow the in-game project panel. The five-Sheet-Metal recipe is a community Wiki listing and may lag behind a game update; the live requirement takes precedence.
Patch and version cautions
The location advice cited here reflects guides dated October 2026. ARC Raiders can change loot tables, vendor inventories and Outpost recipes through patches. The available material contains no official developer table documenting Sheet Metal spawn rates or a guaranteed farming route. Recheck Celeste’s current exchange price and the Outpost project screen after major updates, and preserve the distinction between a reported observation and a verified guarantee.
