Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteBoth the Bulwark Stone and Grudge Stone are in the Citadel of Penance, but you need the Citadel Gate Lever to reach them. Defeat the Bloodcursed Lithopod to get the lever, then open the gate: Grudge Stone is the quick pickup near the beacon, while Bulwark Stone lies farther along the route to a broken bridge.
How to reach the Citadel of Penance stones
The route begins at Widow’s Overlook and crosses toward Gloomshade Grove. Use Mether’s Breath to clear the Gloom-corrupted passage, then continue down to the Bloodcursed Lithopod. Defeating it provides the Citadel Gate Lever, which opens access to the stones. The route is described by NerdsChalk and PowerPyx.

| Stone | Type described by guide | Effect described by guide | Practical role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grudge Stone | Primary Weapon Combat Tarstone | Guarantees a critical hit periodically; EGamersWorld lists every tenth attack at level 1, every seventh at level 2, and every fifth at level 3. | Supports weapon offense through recurring critical hits. |
| Bulwark Stone | Shell Support Tarstone | Associated with damage reduction. EGamersWorld lists 10%, 15%, and 25% by level; GamesRadar describes reduced damage taken for a short period after killing an enemy. | Supports survivability, with activation details and exact scaling requiring in-game confirmation. |
These effects and upgrade figures come from secondary guides, not an official description verified here. In particular, the sources do not establish whether Bulwark’s listed percentages apply to its kill-triggered effect. Check the current in-game Tarstone description before relying on precise values or timing. EGamersWorld’s 2026 guide also counts 75 Tarstones in total; that is a guide-published count, not an independently verified official statistic.
