Start with the game’s official website, publisher or developer channels, character pages, trailers, and authorized gameplay videos. Search the game and character name alongside terms such as “voice lines,” “voice clips,” or “voice actor.” These sources may let you hear a performance, but a recording being available online does not automatically mean you can download, extract, or reuse it.
Where to look for a character’s voice lines
Official game and publisher sources
Search the game’s official site and verified publisher or developer channels for character media, trailers, interviews, and audio resources. If a page offers downloadable samples, check that it is an official or authorized source and read its terms; not every game publishes a voice library.

Trailers and authorized gameplay
Official trailers and gameplay videos can help you hear a line in context or identify a scene. They are usually playback sources, not necessarily downloadable sample collections, and permission to publish gameplay does not automatically include permission to separate its audio.
The performer’s official portfolio
If official credits or announcements identify the voice actor, check the performer’s own website or portfolio for a demo reel. A public reel is a professionally published sample of the performer’s work, not proof that the game character’s specific performance is licensed for reuse.

Fan quote pages and compilations
Fan-maintained pages and compilations can help you locate a line or its scene. Verify the wording against official material when possible, and do not treat an upload or its availability as evidence that the uploader has permission to distribute it or grant you reuse rights.
Finding a recording is different from having permission to reuse it
Publishers set different rules, and a policy for one game or company should not be generalized to another. Some allow certain gameplay videos while restricting extracted or standalone audio. For example, Ubisoft’s Video Policy, last updated in January 2016, encourages creative videos using its game content but says, “Do not take assets from our games (e.g. voice, music, items) and distribute them separately.” The policy is dated, so check its current terms before relying on it: Ubisoft Video Policy.

Other examples show why the exact title matters. The U.S. license for Final Fantasy VII Remake expressly prohibits extracting in-game audio for separate content uses, including use in videos and voice-synthesis software: Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake license. SEGA’s streaming guideline allows gameplay videos on listed platforms under conditions, prohibits posting individual game elements such as audio separately, and directs users to check product-specific rules: SEGA streaming guidelines. Square Enix’s separate western policy has a limited scope: it applies to games developed and published by its western division, includes named franchise exclusions, and may be supplemented by game-specific rules. It prohibits separating components such as vocals and distributing them as standalone assets: Square Enix western video and image policy.

What to check before using a sample
- Identify the exact game and source. Confirm whether the recording comes from an official page, an authorized video, an actor’s reel, or a fan upload.
- Check the intended use. Listening, commentary, a monetized gameplay video, a standalone audio post, and use in voice-synthesis software may be treated differently by a publisher’s terms.
- Read the current, game-specific rules. Look for restrictions on extraction, redistribution, separate audio assets, commercial use, platforms, and required permissions. A broad publisher policy may have exceptions or additional title-specific terms.
- Ask for permission when the terms are unclear. Attribution alone does not grant permission, and noncommercial use is not automatically allowed.
YouTube says monetization of game content depends on the commercial-use rights granted by the game publisher. Its guidance also says that without appropriate publisher authorization, use must be minimal; simply showing gameplay for an extended period may not qualify for monetization. There is no single sample library to recommend without knowing the game and character. Availability can differ by character, language, release, and platform; a video may contain a line without offering a separate audio download. To narrow the search, provide the game title, character, language or version, and whether you want to listen or reuse the recording. For a planned reuse, also consider your jurisdiction, platform, and purpose, then check the applicable current terms.
