On a Samsung phone using Samsung Keyboard, open any text field, bring up the keyboard, and tap the clipboard icon to view copied items. If you don’t see the icon, check the keyboard toolbar’s overflow menu or use the text-field context menu.
Open clipboard history with Samsung Keyboard
- Tap a place where you can enter text, such as a message, note, or browser field, to open Samsung Keyboard.
- Tap the clipboard icon in the keyboard toolbar.
- Tap the copied text or image you want to paste.

Try the text-field menu if the icon is missing
Touch and hold the text-entry field, then select Clipboard. On some devices or in some situations, you may need to open the three-dot menu to find that option.

Make the clipboard icon visible
If Samsung Keyboard’s toolbar is disabled, go to Settings > General management > Samsung Keyboard settings and enable Keyboard toolbar. If the toolbar is present but the clipboard icon isn’t, tap its three-dot control and look among the additional tools. The exact labels may differ across Galaxy models and software versions. Keep important clipboard items and save screenshots
Pin an item
Open the clipboard, tap the pin control, and select the text or screenshot you want to keep. Samsung Japan states that pinned items are retained rather than deleted in the usual way. Its support page gives a limit of 20 pinned items, or 10 on Android 10 and earlier; this is Samsung’s stated limit, not a guarantee for every device and software combination. Save screenshots to the clipboard

Share clipboard items between Galaxy devices
Samsung lists these requirements for clipboard sharing between supported Galaxy devices: both must run One UI 3.1 or later, use the same Samsung account, connect to the same Wi-Fi network, have Bluetooth enabled, and have Continue on other devices enabled. If the clipboard is empty or the steps differ
- First open a text field and check the clipboard control in Samsung Keyboard or the text-field menu; the keyboard’s clipboard view is available while the keyboard is open.
- If the icon is missing, enable Keyboard toolbar in Samsung Keyboard settings and check the toolbar’s three-dot menu.
- Confirm that Samsung Keyboard is the active keyboard. Samsung’s instructions cover Samsung Keyboard and do not establish identical clipboard-history behavior for Gboard or every third-party keyboard.
- If your screen still differs, the next useful details are your Galaxy model, One UI version, and active keyboard. Edge panel availability and behavior vary by device and software version, and Samsung’s cited instructions do not establish a universal setup path for it.
