A manual can answer practical questions that a game’s opening tutorial may not: which buttons perform an action, how the rules work, or how saving works. Many booklets also contain maps, character profiles, item lists, story background, and hints. These features vary by manual; their presence should not be assumed for every game.

- Open the Video Game Manual homepage and browse its alphabetic listings for the game or system you want.
- Open the manual’s PDF. The archive’s manuals are described as available for browser reading or download.
- If you are using a phone and the PDF viewer displays only the cover, download the PDF and open the saved file instead. The archive warns that this cover-only display can happen on mobile devices.
The landing page also links to full-set torrents for PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Super Nintendo, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance manuals. These are bulk options rather than a substitute for browsing to an individual title.

They also do not establish the rights or licensing status of every hosted scan. Check the information attached to an individual file rather than assuming a blanket rights status, and note that access to a particular link or PDF may vary by region, device, or browser.

- Games Database combines manuals with gameplay video, music, maps, advertisements, artwork, and system information. Its homepage displayed 21,602 manuals when accessed on October 7, 2026; that is Games Database’s own homepage figure, not a count for Video Game Manual.
- Demu describes a vintage-media preservation and scanning effort dating to 1998. It says preserved digital files are primarily accessed through the Internet Archive and that scanning may include books, magazines, computer manuals, and video game manuals.
- The Video Game History Foundation’s Video Game Media Assets Collection focuses on digital materials originally intended for media publications, rather than instruction manuals. Its page says the collection covers material created between 1996 and approximately 2011 and is mirrored on the Internet Archive.
For a specific game manual, the manual-focused archive is the most direct place to start. The other resources broaden the search to related game media or preservation collections, not necessarily to another copy of the same booklet.
