Find Samsung Notes in the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store on a Galaxy phone or tablet, and in the Microsoft Store on a Samsung Galaxy Book. Samsung cautions that its Windows app is optimized for Galaxy Books and may not work on other Windows PCs. Availability can vary by region, device, and software version.

Install Samsung Notes on a Galaxy phone or tablet
Open the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store and search for “Samsung Notes.” Check that the listing is available for your device and region, then install it from the store. Samsung Notes can hold text, images, and voice recordings, and Samsung lists PDF import and export among its features. Which options are available can depend on your device and software.

Download Samsung Notes on a Samsung Galaxy Book
- Open Start, then select All apps.
- Open Microsoft Store and search for Samsung Notes.
- Select Get to install the app, then select Open.
- When prompted, sign in to your Samsung account if you want to set up syncing. Samsung says you can skip sign-in during setup.
Samsung’s compatibility guidance is specific: “Samsung Notes for PC is optimized for Samsung Galaxy Books only. It may not be compatible with other Windows computers.” See Samsung Support’s PC installation and compatibility instructions before relying on the app on a non-Galaxy Windows computer.

Samsung documents Samsung Cloud as the sync route between Samsung Notes on a Galaxy device and a PC. Use the same Samsung account on both devices and turn on sync in each app:

- On the PC, open Samsung Notes settings and select Sync with Samsung Cloud. Sign in to your Samsung account and make sure syncing is enabled.
- On the Galaxy phone or tablet, open Samsung Notes settings and enable Samsung Cloud sync there as well.
Sync depends on account sign-in and the settings being enabled on both devices. Samsung says service availability can vary by region, device model, and operating system.
Can you sync Samsung Notes with OneNote?
Samsung’s support information differs by geography or update state. Its US support page says syncing Samsung Notes to Microsoft OneNote is no longer available, while a Canadian support page updated March 18, 2025 describes sending selected folders to a OneNote feed. The Canadian instructions say notes in that feed cannot be edited or removed there. Check the current settings and Samsung support information for your region; Samsung Cloud is the documented sync method for Samsung Notes across Galaxy devices and PC.

Handwriting, S Pen, and PDFs
Samsung describes Notes features including handwriting and drawing with an S Pen, highlighting, voice memos, and PDF annotation. An S Pen is optional, and support depends on the specific Galaxy model. Samsung also cautions that features can vary by country or region, service provider, device model, and operating system. Check the feature details for your device rather than assuming every option is available everywhere.
