Where to Buy Xenogears BRING ARTS Figures and Avoid Counterfeits

Start with the Square Enix store for your region, record the figure’s exact name and SKU, and use that record to check any secondary-market listing. At the time of the latest store check, Square Enix North America listed BRING ARTS Bartholomew Fatima for $120.99 and Maria Balthasar & Chu-Chu for $159.99. The Maria listing identifies an April 2024 release and SKU 4988601366328; Bartholomew is identified with a December 2024 release and SKU 4988601374743. Those prices and stock notices are snapshots, not promises of current availability.

Older characters such as Elly and Fei require more caution because current stock, prices and seller terms were not established. Collector discussions mention marketplaces such as eBay and AmiAmi, but a forum mention does not verify a particular listing, seller or product. There is also no official or named-expert checklist that can conclusively authenticate a Xenogears BRING ARTS figure. You can reduce risk by comparing identity details, photos, completeness, seller history, documentation, payment protection and return terms, while treating every check as evidence rather than a guarantee.

Check the official regional store first

The official regional store is the cleanest starting point because it gives you a reference record for the product you are trying to buy. Save the product name, character or set contents, SKU, release timing, displayed price and availability message before looking elsewhere. Regional catalogues can differ, so use the store serving the country where the order will be delivered rather than assuming that a listing in another region can be purchased on the same terms.

Square Enix North America listings

The North American Xenogears catalogue displayed two BRING ARTS products when it was reviewed:

#1 Best Overall
Square Enix Xenogears: Weltall-Id Bring Arts Action Figure
  • A Square Enix import
  • From the video game Xenogears
  • Unique design to accentuate its sharp edges
  • Great range of motion in its arms and leg
  • Includes different interchangeable hand pieces
Product Contents identified by the listing SKU Release information Displayed price at review
BRING ARTS Bartholomew Fatima Bartholomew Fatima figure 4988601374743 December 2024 release $120.99
BRING ARTS Maria Balthasar & Chu-Chu Maria Balthasar and Chu-Chu set 4988601366328 April 2024 release $159.99

These are displayed catalogue prices observed at a particular time. They may change, and a product can move between available, backordered, discontinued or sold-out status. Taxes, shipping, import charges and regional checkout rules are separate from the displayed figure price. Reopen the regional product page immediately before ordering and confirm that the SKU and set contents still match your target.

Regional availability is not interchangeable

Square Enix UK’s Xenogears BRING ARTS Weltall page showed “CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE” and “SOLD OUT” when reviewed. The page identifies the item as Weltall and gives SKU XXENOZZZ03. That notice describes the UK store at the time of review; it does not prove that every region is sold out permanently, nor does it establish that a third-party listing is authorized.

If a regional store says an item is unavailable, do not treat a different region’s page, an old search result or a marketplace title as confirmation that the same item is in stock. Compare the actual product identity first, then calculate the delivered cost and check whether the seller can legally ship to you.

Create an identity record for the exact figure

“Xenogears BRING ARTS figure” is too broad a description for safe buying. Different characters and sets have different release records, accessories and prices. Make a short identity record before searching so an attractive but incorrect listing does not become your reference point.

Record these fields

  • Character or machine: for example, Bartholomew Fatima, Maria Balthasar with Chu-Chu, or Weltall.
  • Official product name: copy the wording used by the regional store, including ampersands and spelling.
  • SKU: record every digit and letter. The Maria listing uses 4988601366328, Bartholomew uses 4988601374743 and the UK Weltall listing uses XXENOZZZ03.
  • Release information: note the month and year shown by the official listing, not a seller’s estimated arrival date.
  • Set contents: a two-character set such as Maria Balthasar & Chu-Chu is not equivalent to a single-character listing.
  • Reference images and description: save the official photos and wording for side-by-side comparison, subject to the store’s terms.

This record is a comparison tool, not an authentication certificate. A counterfeit can copy a name or print a plausible number, and a genuine pre-owned item can have missing parts. The record simply makes discrepancies visible early.

Use the official record to resolve similar titles

Marketplace titles often omit punctuation, abbreviate character names or combine several products in one search result. Search by the exact character name plus “BRING ARTS,” then verify the result against the SKU and set contents in your record. If a title says “Maria figure” but the photos show Chu-Chu or an unrelated accessory set, stop and ask the seller to identify the item rather than assuming the listing is a variant.

Finding older Fei and Elly figures

Current stock, prices and seller terms for older Fei and Elly BRING ARTS figures were not established in the available store records. That means you should approach a pre-owned or resale listing as an individual transaction, not as a known market price or an automatically safe source.

Use secondary marketplaces as leads, not proof

Collector conversations mention eBay and AmiAmi when people ask where to find older Xenogears figures. Those comments are anecdotal leads. They do not establish that a particular seller is reliable, that a listing is currently active, that the item is genuine, or that the return policy will protect you. A marketplace name alone is not evidence of authorization.

When searching, include the character, the BRING ARTS line and any known official identifier. Save several candidate listings, then compare them against your identity record. Avoid making a purchase solely because a listing uses a familiar photograph or has a high feedback score; both can be copied or can describe a different item from the one you receive.

Ask for information before paying

For an older figure, request clear photographs of the actual item rather than relying on stock images. Ask the seller to show the front, back, top and bottom of the box, the product label or barcode, the figure, every accessory, and any damage. Ask whether the item has been displayed, stored in smoke or sunlight, repaired, repainted or exposed to unusual conditions. Request a written list of what is included and ask whether the seller has an original order confirmation or receipt. Documentation can support a transaction history, but its absence does not by itself prove a counterfeit.

What the available evidence says about counterfeits

The collector question is real, but prevalence is not established

Collectors ask, “Do the ‘Bring Arts’ figures have bootlegs?” The available discussions show concern about counterfeits, not a measured counterfeit rate and not proof that a particular Xenogears listing is fake. No named expert or official source supplied a Xenogears-specific authentication checklist. You should therefore avoid absolute claims such as “all cheap listings are fake” or “this logo proves authenticity.”

What an official page can and cannot establish

An official page can establish the product identity used by Square Enix: the name, character or set, SKU, release information and the details shown in its own images and description. It cannot, by itself, authenticate a loose figure offered by an unknown seller years later. A seller can attach the correct box to the wrong item, and a genuine item can arrive incomplete or damaged.

Practical checks that lower risk

  • Identity match: compare the seller’s title and photos with the official name, SKU and set contents. Treat unexplained mismatches as a reason to pause.
  • Photograph quality: insist on recent, item-specific photographs. Stock images, cropped labels and photos that hide the underside or accessories leave important questions unanswered.
  • Packaging and labels: compare visible typography, artwork placement and product identifiers with the official reference. A different sticker, logo or box color is a discrepancy to investigate, not automatic proof of a fake.
  • Completeness: obtain a component-by-component list. Missing hands, weapons, stands, effect parts or character companions affect value and may indicate that the listing is not the complete product named in the title.
  • Condition disclosure: look for details about paint wear, yellowing, broken joints, loose parts, repairs and odors. “Opened” does not mean counterfeit, and “sealed” does not guarantee authenticity.
  • Seller history: review feedback for patterns involving misdescribed collectibles, cancelled orders or refusal to resolve problems. A long history is useful context, not certification.
  • Documentation: ask for a receipt, order confirmation or other purchase record when available. Verify that the document describes the same character or set and does not contain unexplained alterations.
  • Transaction protection: use a payment method and marketplace process that provide a documented dispute or return route. Read the actual deadline and exclusions before ordering.

These checks are prudent buying practices. None is a guaranteed authentication procedure, and no single low price, package feature, sticker or marketplace account proves that an item is genuine or counterfeit.

Rank #2
Square Enix Xenogears: Maria Balthasar & Chu-chu Bring Arts Action Figure
  • A Square Enix import
  • From the video game series
  • Carefully recreated and textured outfit
  • Additional face, hand and arms parts included
  • Display stand included

Evaluate the listing as a complete transaction

Price is a signal to investigate, not a verdict

Compare a resale price with the official displayed price only as context. The North American snapshots were $120.99 for Bartholomew and $159.99 for Maria Balthasar & Chu-Chu; they are not a universal current market value. A lower price may reflect missing accessories, damage, a sale, currency differences, shipping terms or a seller who wants a quick transaction. A higher price may include documented provenance, but it can also simply be an optimistic ask.

Calculate the delivered total before deciding:

  • item price;
  • domestic or international shipping;
  • sales tax or value-added tax;
  • customs or brokerage charges where applicable;
  • payment or marketplace fees;
  • insurance and the cost of returning an item if the listing is wrong.

Compare like with like. A complete, boxed set and a loose figure with no accessories are not equivalent even when both use the same character name.

Read the condition and return language literally

“New” can describe a seller’s opinion rather than a manufacturer’s guarantee. Look for explicit wording about whether the box was opened, whether seals were broken, whether parts were tested, and whether the photos show the exact unit. Confirm the return period, who pays return shipping, whether opened collectibles are excluded, and how a dispute must be documented. Save the listing, messages and photographs before checkout because marketplace pages can change.

Follow a step-by-step buying workflow

  1. Define the target. Write the character or machine, the exact product name, desired condition and whether you need a complete box and all accessories.
  2. Check the relevant Square Enix regional store. Record the current availability message, displayed price, SKU, release information and set contents. Do not rely on a cached search snippet.
  3. Set a delivered-cost ceiling. Add shipping, taxes, duties and possible return costs. Keep the official displayed price as a dated reference, not a promise.
  4. Search secondary listings. Use the exact character and line name, then narrow results by region and condition. Treat eBay, AmiAmi and any other marketplace as sources of individual listings, not blanket endorsements.
  5. Compare identity details. Check spelling, SKU, release information, character count and accessories against your record. Ask about every discrepancy.
  6. Request current photos and documentation. Ask for all sides of the box, the labels, the actual figure and each accessory. Request a receipt or order confirmation if the seller has one.
  7. Assess the seller and terms. Read recent feedback, confirm handling time, inspect the return policy and verify that the payment method offers a dispute route.
  8. Save evidence. Keep screenshots or downloaded copies of the listing, photos, messages, stated condition, price and return terms.
  9. Pay only when the answers are consistent. If the seller refuses basic photos, pressures you to move payment outside the protected system or changes the description after questions, walk away.
  10. Inspect on arrival. Photograph the unopened parcel, then compare the item and contents with the listing and your identity record before discarding packaging.

Figure-specific reference points

Maria Balthasar & Chu-Chu

The official North American listing treats Maria Balthasar and Chu-Chu as one BRING ARTS product. Its SKU is 4988601366328 and its stated release timing is April 2024. A listing that names Maria but omits Chu-Chu may be incomplete, a different product or incorrectly titled. Ask the seller to identify every component shown in the official set before paying.

Bartholomew Fatima

The North American Bartholomew listing uses SKU 4988601374743 and states a December 2024 release. Check that a seller is not using Bartholomew’s name for a different Xenogears character, an accessory-only listing or a fan-made item. Confirm the SKU and included parts from photographs rather than assuming that a character name guarantees the correct release.

Weltall

The UK product page identifies Weltall with SKU XXENOZZZ03 and showed “CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE” and “SOLD OUT” at review. A seller’s claim that the item is “UK stock” should be checked against the actual item, packaging and purchase record; the old availability message does not certify any later listing.

Fei and Elly

No current official stock, price or seller terms for older Fei and Elly figures were established. Treat those searches as higher-uncertainty purchases. Require item-specific photos, a complete accessory list, condition details and a clear return route, and do not present an asking price as an established market value.

When a listing conflicts with the official record

Pause whenever the seller’s information differs from the official record. A different SKU may indicate a regional or entirely different product, but it may also be a transcription error. Ask the seller to photograph the label and explain the discrepancy. If the product name, character count or packaging cannot be reconciled, do not substitute your own assumption.

Similarly, do not infer authenticity from a single visual detail. A familiar logo, holographic sticker, unusual box seal or low price can be copied, changed by region or unrelated to the figure’s identity. Use multiple independent checks and retain a way to return the item if the evidence remains incomplete.

Inspect and document the purchase after delivery

Keep the shipping carton and internal packaging until you have completed your inspection. Photograph the package before opening, then photograph the figure, box labels and all contents. Compare the received item with the saved listing and official reference. Check that the character and set match, that accessories are present, and that disclosed damage is consistent with what you received.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If something is missing or materially different, contact the seller through the marketplace’s message system immediately. State the discrepancy precisely, attach the photographs and request the remedy allowed by the published return terms. Do not alter, repair or discard the item before the seller or payment provider explains the next step. If you return it, use the required shipping method and retain tracking and proof of delivery.

How to interpret changing availability and prices

Store inventory is temporary. The North American prices and the UK Weltall status above describe what was displayed when those pages were reviewed, not a guaranteed current offer. Release dates identify the products in the official record; they do not predict a restock or establish a resale premium. A responsible article or buyer should recheck the relevant regional store at the moment of purchase.

For older figures, the absence of a current official listing does not prove that every marketplace copy is counterfeit. It means the official store cannot serve as a live stock check for that item. Your protection comes from matching the product identity, documenting condition and completeness, checking the seller and preserving a return or dispute option.
