Besides EB Games, Nintendo’s Canadian retailer directory identifies Amazon Canada, Best Buy Canada, Costco Canada, Indigo, London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Staples Canada, Toys R Us Canada and Walmart Canada as places to look for Nintendo products. Nintendo’s own online store is particularly useful for accessories, replacement parts and selected authentic refurbished hardware. Availability, prices and store participation change, so treat the directory as a starting point and verify the exact product before paying.

The list confirms that these businesses are recognized retail destinations for Nintendo products. It does not rank them, guarantee that every branch carries games, or establish that a particular title or accessory is in stock. A store may have a broad online range but little inventory at a nearby location, or may carry consoles and accessories without stocking older physical games.

Best Buy Canada: the clearest all-purpose alternative
Best Buy Canada has a live Nintendo category covering systems, games, controllers and other accessories. Its shopping tools let you choose shipping or check pickup at nearby stores by postal code. That makes it a practical first stop when you want a current release quickly or need to know whether a physical item is available locally.

Open the individual product page rather than relying only on a search result. Confirm the platform named in the title and specifications, read whether the item is sold by the retailer or another marketplace seller, and check the pickup store shown after entering your postal code. The displayed price and inventory are a time-sensitive snapshot, not a nationwide guarantee.
Amazon Canada: broad online search, more seller checks
Nintendo lists Amazon Canada as an authorized retail destination, but the directory does not confirm a specific listing, seller or stock position. Amazon can be useful for locating games, cases, charging equipment and older catalog items, provided you inspect the listing carefully.
- Match the listing to the exact system generation: Nintendo Switch 2, original Nintendo Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED.
- Read whether the item is new, open-box, refurbished or used.
- Check the “sold by” and “fulfilled by” information, delivery date and return terms.
- Make sure a marketplace listing is for the Canadian edition and the correct physical format, rather than a digital code or an import.
Do not assume that a search result is current merely because Nintendo names Amazon in its directory. Verify the seller and final checkout total on the day you order.

Walmart Canada: useful for games, accessories and selected-store demos
Nintendo lists Walmart Canada among its retailers, and Walmart’s indexed categories show Nintendo games and accessories. The exact assortment differs by store and by online seller, so search for the specific title or accessory and open the live product page before travelling.

Walmart is also one of the chains where Nintendo says selected stores may offer Switch 2 and some game demonstrations. Demo availability is store-specific; contact the location for details rather than expecting every branch to have a playable unit or the product you want in stock.
Costco, Indigo, London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart, Staples and Toys R Us
Nintendo includes each of these chains in its Canadian retailer directory. They can be worth checking when you are already shopping there, looking for a bundle, or trying to locate an accessory outside a specialist game store. The directory does not establish a complete catalog, a national price advantage or current local stock for any of them.
Search by the exact product name, then confirm whether the item is available for delivery, eligible for store pickup, or limited to a particular warehouse or branch. For a less common controller, charging dock or replacement component, call the store if the online page gives an unclear quantity or collection date.

Nintendo Store: accessories, parts and selected refurbished hardware
Nintendo says its own store serves residents of Canada and the United States. It is the strongest option when you need an official accessory, a replacement part or a selected authentic refurbished product rather than a newly released game from a general retailer.

Parts support is not unlimited. Nintendo notes that many components for older systems are no longer available, so an unavailable part may require a compatible third-party replacement or a secondhand search. Check the product description for the system model and region before ordering.
Used and older games
For discontinued games, previous-generation accessories and unusual colors or editions, Nintendo points shoppers toward online retailers specializing in older or used stock, pawn shops, garage sales, flea markets, classified advertisements and online auction sites. These channels can uncover items absent from new-product catalogs, but condition and authenticity vary widely.
Ask for clear photos of cartridge contacts, discs, labels, serial markings and included accessories. Confirm the seller’s reputation, return policy and shipping terms. Nintendo states that secondhand hardware and accessories do not carry Nintendo’s hardware or accessory warranty, even when the item works at the time of purchase.

Check the exact Nintendo platform before paying
“Nintendo Switch” is not one interchangeable specification. Nintendo’s retailer directory covers Nintendo Switch 2, the original Nintendo Switch family, Switch Lite and Switch OLED. A game, controller, case, screen protector or dock can be designed for one system and unsuitable for another.

- Identify your console. Read the model name in the system settings, on the console or on its packaging. Do not rely on a listing that says only “Switch.”
- Read the product title and specifications. Look for an explicit reference to Switch 2, original Switch, Switch Lite or Switch OLED.
- Check physical fit. Cases, docks, grips, screen protectors and charging accessories must match the dimensions and ports of your model.
- Check the game format. Distinguish a physical cartridge from a digital download code, and confirm that an imported edition is acceptable to you.
- Verify included parts. A used listing may omit a dock, Joy-Con straps, charging adapter, manual or original packaging even when the product title sounds complete.
If a compatibility statement is vague, pause the purchase and ask the retailer or manufacturer for the model number. A lower price is not useful if the accessory cannot connect, fit or charge your system.

Retail inventory changes faster than a directory page. For shipped orders, check the promised dispatch and delivery dates at checkout. For pickup, enter the exact postal code, select the intended branch and make sure the item is marked ready for collection rather than merely available from a warehouse.
Call the store when the item is needed for a same-day trip, when the quantity appears unusually low, or when the page shows conflicting delivery and pickup messages. A retailer may reserve the last unit for an online order, move it between departments or cancel a pickup if the count was wrong.

Compare the final amount, including delivery charges, taxes and any bundle requirement. The available evidence does not establish a permanent lowest-price retailer in Canada, so a price seen on one day should not be treated as a national or lasting benchmark.

New, refurbished and secondhand: understand the trade-off
New retail stock
New products generally provide the clearest return path and the manufacturer’s normal warranty terms, subject to the retailer’s policy. Keep the receipt, verify the seal or packaging condition at collection and test an accessory promptly while returns are still allowed.
Official refurbished products
Nintendo’s store offers selected authentic refurbished hardware. “Selected” matters: not every model or color is continuously available. Read the specific listing for included accessories, cosmetic condition, warranty coverage and return rules before ordering.
Secondhand hardware and accessories
Used stock can be the only realistic route for discontinued consoles, games or parts. Inspect for cracked housings, damaged ports, swollen batteries, drifting controls, corrosion and missing proprietary chargers. Nintendo explicitly says secondhand hardware and accessories do not carry its hardware or accessory warranty, so price the risk of repair into your decision.

Nintendo Canada says shoppers can try Switch 2 and some games at selected EB Games, Walmart and Best Buy stores. For alternatives to EB Games, that means Walmart and Best Buy may have participating locations, but neither every branch nor every date is guaranteed.
Contact the local store for the demo schedule, age or identification requirements, and whether appointments are needed. A demo confirms the experience on that display unit; it does not reserve purchase stock or prove that the same configuration is available for pickup.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
- Assuming the directory means stock: retailer inclusion identifies a shopping destination, not a live inventory promise. Search the exact item.
- Buying the wrong generation: read the system name in the product details and match it to your console.
- Ignoring marketplace sellers: inspect seller identity, fulfillment, condition and returns, especially on large online marketplaces.
- Confusing a digital code with a cartridge: check the format before checkout and confirm whether a code is redeemable in your account’s region.
- Expecting every store to host a demo: Nintendo describes selected locations only; call ahead.
- Expecting a warranty on used hardware: Nintendo says secondhand hardware and accessories are outside its warranty.
- Travelling for a low-stock pickup: wait for the retailer’s ready-for-collection notice or call the branch first.
A practical buying checklist
- Write down the exact console model and the product type you need.
- Search Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon and the other Nintendo-listed retailers for that exact name.
- For parts or official refurbished hardware, check Nintendo’s own store first.
- Compare new, official refurbished and used condition only after checking warranty and return differences.
- Review seller, fulfillment, compatibility, included items and final delivered price.
- Confirm local stock or the delivery date immediately before paying.
- Keep the receipt and test the product within the return window.
For most new games and accessories, Best Buy’s shipping and pickup filters provide the most transparent starting point. Amazon and Walmart broaden the search, the other listed chains may offer convenient local alternatives, Nintendo’s store covers official parts and selected refurbished products, and used channels are most useful for older stock. In every case, the exact model, seller, condition and current inventory matter more than the retailer’s name alone.
