The roles and their stated scope were reported by Alabama Political Reporter on October 6, 2026. The report does not give start dates, compensation, ownership details, consulting clients or contractual terms. Poole Growth Strategies is described as planned; the report does not state whether it has begun operating.

How does this follow his state service?
Poole left the state finance director role after serving in it from 2021. The Governor’s Office said his appointment took effect August 1, 2021, and identified him as a former chairman of the House Ways and Means Education Committee. He represented House District 63, graduated from the University of Alabama and its School of Law, and had worked in private practice since 2004 before joining the administration. The office also cited his work on Rebuild Alabama and the Alabama Incentives Modernization Act. (Office of the Governor of Alabama, 2021 appointment announcement.)
Alabama Political Reporter said Poole spent 16 years in public office, including eight years chairing the House Education Appropriations Committee. The same 2026 report credits him with helping oversee distribution of more than $2 billion in federal COVID-19 relief and helping steer more than $7 billion in public bond financing, including financing for the Mobile River Bridge. Those are figures reported by that outlet, not independently re-audited here.

What is the connection to Harrison Construction?
Alabama Political Reporter says Poole’s law office represented Harrison Construction before he entered public office in 2010. Harrison Construction President Tim Harrison described him as “a trusted attorney, advisor, and friend to Harrison Construction for many years.” That history is relevant context, but the sources reviewed do not establish a conflict finding or allege wrongdoing.
Will Poole remain with Innovate Alabama?
The October 2026 report says Poole plans to remain chair of Innovate Alabama, subject to future approvals. It does not confirm whether those approvals were later granted, so his continued chairmanship should be treated as conditional rather than settled.
