The best-supported place to see an Antarctic dinosaur specimen in person is the Fryxell Geology Museum at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. The museum lists a 22-foot Cryolophosaurus skeleton among its displays, but does not say whether it is original fossil material, a cast, or a reconstruction. For an online specimen record and 3D skull model, the Field Museum is a useful option.
Where can you see Cryolophosaurus in person?

Augustana College’s Fryxell Geology Museum lists a complete, 22-foot-long Cryolophosaurus skeleton as a museum highlight. The carnivorous dinosaur was discovered in Antarctica in 1991 by Augustana paleontologist William Hammer.

The museum is at 820 38th St., Rock Island, Illinois. Its listed regular hours are 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday when classes are in session. Because weekend access depends on Augustana’s academic calendar, check the college’s current visitor information before planning a trip.

Augustana describes the skeleton as complete, but its page does not identify the display as original fossil bones, a cast, or a reconstruction. Confirm with the museum if seeing original material is important to your visit. Its reported collection of more than 20,000 rock, mineral, and fossil specimens, with 1,500 on display, covers the museum as a whole and is not a count of Antarctic fossils.

Can you see the original Cryolophosaurus fossil?
The available museum information does not establish that the original Cryolophosaurus fossil is on public display. The Field Museum’s catalog record for Cryolophosaurus ellioti identifies the type specimen as PR 1821, collected in 1991, and provides an educational 3D model of the skull. A collection record is not confirmation that the specimen is currently exhibited in a gallery.
In short, Fryxell lists a skeleton visitors can see; the Field Museum documents the type specimen online. Neither cited page confirms that the displayed skeleton at Fryxell consists of the original fossil bones.

Field Museum: specimen record and 3D skull model
If you cannot visit Rock Island, the Field Museum’s online record is a way to explore the type specimen and its skull model. The catalog page does not confirm public gallery display of the original.
Cleveland Museum of Natural History: scheduled film
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History lists Dinosaurs of Antarctica, a 42-minute film, from January 20 through October 25, 2026. The museum notes that showtimes may change, so check its current film listing before going. This is a film screening, not a fossil exhibit.

Are Antarctic dinosaur touring exhibits still open?
Several exhibit pages that appear in searches describe past tours rather than current visits. The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County lists its run as April 3, 2019–January 5, 2020; the Witte Museum says its February 25–September 10, 2023 exhibition is closed; and Cincinnati Museum Center marks its listing “Now Closed,” with an end date of January 22, 2023.
The touring exhibition featured a mix of fossils and replicas, along with fieldwork material and interactive displays. For example, the Florida Museum’s announcement for its temporary 2023 presentation described more than 60 rare fossils, touchable bone casts, models, and field artifacts; that run ended in 2024. Those past displays are useful context, but they are not current destinations. Check a museum’s live calendar before traveling for any touring exhibition.
