In the United States, LG’s cited appliance warranties commonly provide one year of parts and labor for the main appliance, but the schedule varies by category and model. Longer component warranties often cover the part only—not the labor or in-home service needed to replace it.
Which LG warranty applies to your appliance?
The schedules below are for LG appliances purchased, installed, and used in the United States and U.S. territories. LG says coverage begins on the original date of delivery or purchase. These are category examples from specific LG USA warranty documents, not a universal promise for every model; check the warranty supplied with your appliance or its exact model-support page before relying on a period.

Refrigerators
The longer compressor period is not ten years of free repairs: in years six through ten, the cited schedule covers the linear or inverter compressor part, while the owner pays labor. The five-year sealed-system term is a separate coverage period and includes parts and labor in the cited 2022 warranty.
Washers and dryers
The cited 2026 schedule is for washers. Its ten-year motor and three-year drum periods are parts-only; applicable labor during those periods is the owner’s responsibility. Do not assume a dryer has the same schedule: check the dryer’s model-specific warranty.

Dishwashers
The 2023 schedule separates full first-year service from later component periods. LG product-support pages for listed dishwasher models continue to show one year of labor and parts and a ten-year direct-drive-motor exception, while board, rack, and tub coverage can vary by model revision. Verify the warranty for the specific revision.
Ranges and ovens
The cited range warranty covers internal and functional parts and labor for one year from original purchase, including in-home service to replace defective parts during that year. This schedule should not be treated as a guarantee for every LG oven or range model.

Microwaves
The cited schedule is specifically for over-the-range microwaves. The five- and ten-year magnetron extensions cover parts only, so applicable labor is not included in those extended periods.

A component term and the cost of the service visit are different things. A parts-only extension can provide the replacement component while leaving you to pay for labor, travel, or in-home service, depending on the applicable terms. That distinction matters for the cited refrigerator compressor, washer motor and drum, dishwasher motor, and microwave magnetron periods. Read the exact model warranty for what is included before arranging a repair.

What do you need to make a warranty claim?
- Identify the exact model. Use the model number to find its LG support page or the warranty document supplied with the appliance. Model-specific terms and revisions can differ.
- Locate proof of purchase. LG’s terms require proof of original retail purchase identifying the model and purchase date. Keep the receipt or another qualifying proof of purchase.
- Check the date and coverage category. LG says the warranty period starts from the original delivery or purchase date. Confirm that the failed part and the requested service fall within the applicable period and coverage type.
- Contact LG for service under the applicable terms. LG says it may repair or replace a defective product or part. Under the cited laundry terms, a replacement product or part is covered for the remainder of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is greater.
The cited laundry terms also state that, without valid proof of purchase, coverage starts 90 days after the manufacture date. That fallback is specified in those laundry terms; check the warranty for your own appliance rather than assuming the same rule applies to every category.

LG presents more than one possible route beyond a standard product warranty. They are not interchangeable, and eligibility, coverage, and administration depend on the plan terms, state, and model.
