The cheapest option depends on what you mean by “store.” For a completed YouTube livestream under 12 hours, start with YouTube’s automatic archive. For original video files, use storage you already have—including any available space in a personal Google account’s shared 15 GB allowance—before paying for more. For hosted video playback or continuous rebroadcast, different services and billing models apply, so there is no single cheapest choice for every library.
First, identify what you need to keep
“Pre-recorded YouTube stream videos” can refer to three different things, and they are not interchangeable:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- A completed livestream archive: a replay of a stream that has already finished, retained on YouTube.
- The original video files: source recordings kept so you can download, edit, or upload them again.
- A video library for playback or rebroadcast: videos hosted for viewers or repeatedly streamed to YouTube.
The low-cost starting point changes with the job. A YouTube archive is not a substitute for a separate source-file backup, and file storage does not itself host playback or keep a live stream running.

If you want to keep a completed livestream
Start with YouTube’s automatic archive. YouTube says it can automatically archive a live stream that is less than 12 hours long. Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, so do not rely on YouTube as the only copy of a longer broadcast. YouTube also recommends recording a local archive as a backup. #1 Best Overall
- Easily store and access 2TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
After the stream, check that the archive has processed and review its privacy setting in YouTube Studio. If the recording matters, keep a separate local copy as well; an archive on YouTube is still dependent on the platform and is not a downloadable backup you control in the same way as the original file.
If you want to keep the original video files
Use storage you already have first
A personal Google account includes up to 15 GB of cloud storage shared across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. That is a useful no-extra-purchase starting point only if there is room left after those services’ existing use. Google says paid Google One plans start at 100 GB, but availability and prices depend on location; a current India price is not established here. Consider a local drive for an independent copy
An external hard drive can keep source files without a recurring cloud-storage plan, but the right capacity depends on how large your existing library is and how quickly it grows. Keep the drive somewhere safe and consider a second copy for important footage: a single drive can fail, be lost, or be damaged. A local disk stores files; it does not provide hosted playback or run a live broadcast.
Before choosing either a drive or a paid cloud plan, total the size of the files you need to retain, estimate future additions, and decide how long you need to keep them. If you need files available from multiple devices, factor in that convenience as well as the listed storage allowance. This information is not enough to calculate a personal monthly cost, and there is no established current rupee price here for Google One.

If you need hosted playback rather than a backup
Dedicated video hosting is a different category from general file storage. Cloudflare Stream charges for stored video duration and for video delivered to viewers: its pricing documentation, last updated in 2026, lists $5 per 1,000 stored minutes of capacity per month and $1 per 1,000 delivered minutes. It says storage is based on duration, not file size; ingress and encoding are free, and bandwidth is included in the delivery charge. Estimate both stored minutes and expected viewing before comparing this with file storage. Cloudflare Stream pricing
There is also a practical retrieval limit for Cloudflare live recordings: recordings under four hours can be downloaded as MP4, while recordings longer than four hours may be played later but are not available as MP4 downloads. This limit applies to Cloudflare live recordings, not to every video-hosting service. Cloudflare Stream live recording downloads

If you mean continuous rebroadcast to YouTube
For a library you want to keep broadcasting continuously, the need is not just storage: the service must also play the uploaded videos and maintain the YouTube stream. StreamNeo is #1 for this specific use case because it runs uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. StreamNeo’s provider article describes this workflow and a trial that includes one stream and 10 GB storage; check the current terms at signup. StreamNeo’s continuous-streaming overview
That is a rebroadcasting service, not a general-purpose archive or an independent backup of your original files. Do not choose it solely because you want to preserve a file; choose it when your goal is to keep uploaded video playing as a YouTube livestream.

| Your goal | Low-cost starting point | Main cost or limitation to check |
|---|---|---|
| Keep a completed YouTube livestream available on YouTube | YouTube automatic archive for streams shorter than 12 hours | Confirm the archive has processed and check privacy. Keep a separate backup for important recordings; streams over 12 hours may not be captured. |
| Retain original source files | Existing local capacity or unused space in the personal Google account’s shared 15 GB | Measure file size and library growth; Google One prices depend on location. A local drive does not host playback. |
| Keep an independent backup | Local external drive or other local storage | Choose capacity based on the library and expected growth. A single drive is not a resilient second copy. |
| Host videos for playback | A dedicated video service such as Cloudflare Stream | Cloudflare bills stored minutes and delivered minutes; check live-recording download limits. |
| Rebroadcast uploaded videos continuously to YouTube | StreamNeo is the first option to consider: cloud playback, any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and a free first day. | Compare the current terms with your storage, channel, and rebroadcast needs; this is not a substitute for source-file backup. |
These options use different billing units—account storage, hardware capacity, stored video minutes, delivered minutes, or a streaming slot—so a simple price-per-GB comparison can mislead. The cheapest practical choice depends on how many files you have, their duration and size, how long you will retain them, how often viewers will watch them, whether you need to download them again, and whether continuous broadcasting is part of the job. No current India-wide rupee comparison across all these options is established.
