Camelot Unchained Update 0.50 adds three Realm-specific Scout classes and craftable trebuchets, beginning the game’s first siege implementation. Scouts bring mobility, information-gathering and control-oriented utility; trebuchets give players a new way to attack enemy players, NPCs and Keep or point-of-interest gates. The update also changes ability speed and limits repeated crowd-control effects.
What the three new Scouts do
Update 0.50 adds one Scout archetype for each Realm: the Arthurian Spectre, Tuathan Wisp and Viking Arisen. The developer describes Scouts as mobile support characters built around utility, debuffs, crowd control and gathering information for allies—not maximum raw damage. Their distinct passive abilities shape how each one survives or moves through danger.
Tuathan Wisp: Capricious
Capricious grants Vanish. The Wisp can use it only while below 50% health, and it instantly sends the character to the Veil.
Arthurian Spectre: Self-Possessed
Self-Possessed grants Ghost Form, a toggle stance that increases movement speed and physical resistances and applies Stealth while the Spectre is out of combat. In Ghost Form, the character is restricted to Scout abilities and Spectre abilities specifically marked as usable in that form.

Viking Arisen: Walking Dead
Walking Dead triggers when the Arisen would die: instead, the character remains at 1 health, becomes immune to damage, and gains increased movement speed and melee damage for eight seconds. Once triggered, the ability has a five-minute cooldown.
How trebuchets work in Update 0.50
Crafting and deployment
Weaponsmiths, Woodworkers and Leatherworkers receive trebuchet kits as level-nine recipes. A kit is a one-use deployable: carry it in inventory, then deploy it in an RvR zone. Because the kit is consumed and its engine expires after ten minutes, placement and timing matter.

Targets and limits
The patch notes list enemy players, NPCs, and Keep or point-of-interest gates as current targets. Other players can target the deployed engine, and friendly fire is disabled. Update 0.50 also significantly reduces player damage against outer gates, making siege weapons more important when attacking Keeps.
This is an initial siege pass, not a complete destruction system. The developer’s Steam Community news and Update 0.50 preview describes placement on even terrain and outlines possible future work, including faction-specific trebuchet variants, additional siege engines, cooperative operation such as a multi-player siege ram, and destructible wall sections. Those items are previewed intentions, not features confirmed as shipped in the 0.50 patch notes.

Combat changes that affect group fights
Action Speed shortens activation, not recovery
Action Speed reduces activation time for non-instant abilities, including spells and weapon skills; it does not reduce recovery time. In the 0.50 notes, its only source is the Blackguard’s Siege Stance, which is adjusted to grant +35% Action Speed and +20% Weaponskill Multiplier. Equipment and other abilities are described as possible future sources, not current ones.
Repeated control effects face diminishing returns
To prevent a target from being locked down by successive control effects, Update 0.50 adds a diminishing-returns sequence:

- The first control effect applies for its normal duration. After it ends, the target receives CC Resistance for ten seconds.
- If another control effect lands during that resistance window, it lasts 50% of its normal duration. The resistance is then removed, and the target receives six seconds of CC Immunity.
- While CC Immunity is active, all control effects are blocked.
Snare is no longer classified as a Control effect, so it does not trigger this system or consume Panicked. “Forced Into the Veil” is classified as a Control effect.

- Class-progression respec costs are temporarily reduced to 10 gold per level.
- Healing potency is slightly reduced across the board.
- Experience gains from NPC kills and hostile status effects in RvR are changed.
- The notes also include changes to keep respawns, gathering indicators, minimum candleberry yields and wax recipe requirements, alongside class-specific balance adjustments and fixes.

The Steam Community “All News” page provides the developer’s preview context; future siege ideas described there should not be confused with what the update notes say is implemented.
