The Music of League of Legends Vol. 1
On January 27, 2015, Riot Music Group announced The Music of League of Legends Vol. 1, describing it as 15 new and classic tracks brought together beyond the game. The announcement names “Demacia Rising,” “Tidecaller,” “The Curse of the Sad Mummy,” and “Get Jinxed.” Riot framed the release as a way to hear the music outside gameplay: Listen as 15 new and classic League tracks come together for the first time beyond the game.

Riot’s Sessions project presents music made with musicians for use in content under Riot’s stated guidance. The official page describes a Star Guardian Taliyah release featuring 29 tracks and 16 artists; those figures describe that release, not the entire Sessions catalog or every release associated with the project.

Scores for musicians
Listening is not the only way to engage with League music. Riot’s October 21, 2019 announcement says it shared raw sheet music used during recording sessions, including scores for Camille, Kled, Tahm Kench, and “Demacia Rising.” These are score materials for performing the music; the announcement does not establish that Riot sells a printed score book. How Riot builds music from unexpected sounds
Riot composer Alex “Scherzo” Temple describes found-instrument techniques as using everyday objects as instruments or repurposing instruments to play in an unconventional way. In his October 21, 2019 article, he discusses a production example built from layered tube recordings and audio processing. The larger point is that a soundtrack can combine familiar instruments with deliberately altered or everyday sounds. Can creators use League music in videos and streams?
Not all Riot-associated music has the same creator-use terms. Riot’s Creator-Safe Guidelines distinguish tracks in the creator-safe playlist from music outside it. Riot says music outside that playlist generally requires a license from Riot and/or the copyright owner, and cautions: “When using music from outside that playlist, Riot cannot make any guarantee that your streams or VODs will be unaffected.”
Riot presents Sessions as music developed with musicians for use in content under its stated guidance, but that does not make every League soundtrack or Riot track automatically cleared for any video, stream, or monetized use. Check the current playlist and Riot’s live terms before using a track; catalogs and guidance may change.
