The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle lists the full Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition game, the Holo-X and Holo-Y Apparel Items, and additional story content. Mega Dimension is the paid add-on—not a standalone game—and the Switch 2 edition’s performance and resolution upgrades are part of the game edition, not the DLC.

Switch 2 Edition: upgraded game presentation
The Switch 2 Edition is the game with improved performance, enhanced resolution, and smoother frame rates, according to Nintendo’s US product listing. These are edition-specific improvements; they are not Mega Dimension content.

Mega Dimension: new story and apparel
Nintendo describes a story in which distortions appear across Lumiose City and lead to Hyperspace Lumiose. Hoopa can turn the distortions into portals. The player joins Ansha, a baker, to collect Berries and make donuts that grant useful effects; later, Korrina and Team MZ take part in the investigation. The DLC purchase includes the Holo-X and Holo-Y Apparel Items as well as the additional story content. See Nintendo’s Mega Dimension listing.
Does Mega Dimension include the full game?
No. Mega Dimension is downloadable additional content, and a copy of Pokémon Legends: Z-A is required to use it. Nintendo says it is compatible with both the Nintendo Switch game and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The DLC story also requires completion of the main story before it can be played, according to Nintendo’s US news page.

Nintendo’s US news page listed these regular US prices in 2025: $69.99 for the Switch 2 Edition, $9.99 for the upgrade pack, and $29.99 for Mega Dimension. Those are dated US listings, not guaranteed prices for October 2026; check the current store listing. The cited listing does not establish a bundle price, so do not assume it equals the sum of the separate prices.
Check the exact bundle listing and date
Nintendo’s US bundle listing gives August 4, 2026 as its release date, while a separate Nintendo US product listing for “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension” gives October 29, 2026. The listings therefore do not support treating those dates as one universal release date. Confirm the exact SKU and format on the retailer or Nintendo page before buying. The standalone game listing gives October 16, 2025 as its release date.
